    I like how the air filter was moved out from under the fuel tank to being in front of the fuel cap under the “glove” box as we call it in the states, that and it looks like it only has room for one single glove😂

    I have a 2024, 23MY, 1290 SAS, with the MITAS tyres, I have been pleasantly surprised, done 3500m with about 1500 of them in the pissing rain and have been pleased with the performance, however, I am a bridgestone fanboy so A41's will be going on shortly. Very impressed with KTM the Radar is amazing, I thought it would be just a gimmick but on dual carriages or motorways in heavy rain it is invaluable.

      I didn’t really get chance to try the mitas but I had heard horror stories about them that may have made me slightly apprehensive about them.
      I had just put a set of pr6 on my 2019 SAS and loved them, really grippy and confidence inspiring so I thought I’d get another set out straight on this one.
      I’ve not really used the radar yet, but cruise control was invaluable on the big motorway stints on our recent Germany trip

    Thank you for your video, great info. One question since you mentioned some functions which come with the tech package are not initially available. Which functions require 600 miles on the odometer? Have fun with your new KTM SAS!

    i use the adaptive cruise control more than i ever imagined i would. just installed a garmin zumo xt as wel,l lots of panels to remove to get to the acc2 connections but didnt take to long. havent found an issue with the original mitas but will put pure road tyres on when they are done as i dont intend taking it off road.😁

    • @q-tubeadventures
      @q-tubeadventures  Před rokem +1

      Yeah I need to try it, I’ve just not had much chance to play around with it yet but I like the idea of the ACC, I use it on my car all the time.
      I’m now not sure about the garmin, I might go tomtom rider 550 as I’ve been put off the garmin in a few forums. It sounds like a top nav but I like planning on the go and use the tomtom my drive app on my phone which garmin doesn’t have.
      I’ll never take mine off road mate, if I drop it on my own I’m not sure I’d be able to pick it up 😂😂

    I have heard about some grip issues with the MITAS tyres from the Speedway lads. having to run really low pressures, just to make them kind of work. They don't like them. Great video once again mate. Looking forward to seeing some fun journeys with the lovely new ride. Very smart Pal.

    Ive had no problems with the mitas tires. I replaced them after 600 miles because I needed a tire i could trust for a 5k mike trip. But now that im home ill likely put them back on.

    Hi mate,the GS has the point to point sat nav as standard and being a tight scotsman I didn't want to pay for a satnav, I'm okay with it😂
    Its also the first twin I've had,which I'm enjoying, seems a bit lumpy compared to a in-line four but I think thats what they call, character, I've never had a go on a KTM but it looks a cracking bike,
    I liked my versys but after having a go on the GS, I really liked it,got the triple black with all the do da's on it, I've no problems with the seat height and size of the bike and it's amazing how agile it handles,its a big step up from my versys👍
    I was on my fourth Kawasaki but I needed a change,so pretty happy with the bike 👍

  • @dingo470
    @dingo470 Před rokem +2

    Really tidy bike. I've always said you don't really know if you like a bike until you've done a few hundred miles and everything is bedded in. Agreed on point-to-point, a nightmare if you come to multi-lane slip roads and roundabouts. Looks smoothe as fook too. Should be ace for your next proper tour.

    • @q-tubeadventures
      @q-tubeadventures  Před rokem

      Yeah that’s my same thoughts about point to point or turn by turn directions, when you get to multiple lanes or junctions on top of each other they are a nightmare. It will take a bit of getting used to, I was really confident on my old one and now this is all new and you have to learnt the quirks, can’t wait to tour on it though. Thanks for watching 🤙

  • @tojj29

    Happy new bike day!
    Crackin bike that is. Not even heard of them tyres you were on about. My new Kwak had Bridgestone T31's on it, and I've not really found a good Bridgestone on previous bikes. Until nowthat is, they seem to handle really well. Not tried em in anger in the wet yet, but sure we'll get there soon. When they've "tyred themselves out", I'll be going for Road 6 Gt's, really like Michelins.
    Stay safe matey, and enjoy the bike. Can't wait to see you kick its head in first time.🤣🤣

    • @q-tubeadventures
      @q-tubeadventures  Před rokem +1

      I hadn’t heard of the mitas to be fair, I’d just read in forums that they were terrible so I didn’t even want to take a chance, I’m not messing about trying to learn a true when I could just shove some that I know and like on.
      I like Michelins, I like Pirelli’s too but I definitely prefer Michelins, the 6s are ace tyres, proper confidence inspiring mate. 200 miles to go and I’ll be kicking it’s head in don’t worry 😂😂
