I started to make jokes about how lucky they were meeting a real person from Liechtenstein since we are so few. Since them they all call me "rare pokémon". Whenever I meet some new foreigners I tell them this story and they also begin to call me like that. I think it's quite funny!

Hey dude, I'm Tihomir from Bulgaria and I completely love your channel, have been watching it from a long, long time and I absolutely love it when you put on display the "martenitza"s or just... anything Bulgarian. Might say you got the symbolism correct for the most part.
The original tradition goes like this: you must put the Martenitza on 1st of March (it's always a white and red banner - white standing for the purity and red for health) and you take it off ONLY after you see a storck and you put it on a tree branch. The idea for "Baba Marta" (a fictional granny woman used in our folklore and some kid stories) is to support the idea for the upcoming spring and that it takes away "the evil from the winter".
The Ancient Bulgarian gift you have is really cool - indeed we used to have the "глаголица" before the Cirilic. I have a book with that alphabet, because I used to study Old Bulgarian some 10-15 ys ago but they are extremely rare! This language has also very interesting sounds that nowadays are not used in contemporary Bulgarian. Cheers!

I just found out that many of my friends including me are subscribed to your channel because of that article. It was about how well you made the ep without getting political, something that seemed impossible until your video came out. Many Israelis still use you and your vid to show other people mostly in political debates that you can talk about isr without getting political. Thank you for your channel. Keep up the good work

Hi, I'm a different Ben from a half hour outside of Halifax, Nova Scotia. I forget if this was covered in the Canada episode, but in the Bay of Fundy they actually have to tie the fishing boats to the piers for different reasons than other sailors. And they must also tie them down with better knots/ropes than others could get away with lol. Instead of tying it down to keep it from drifting away, the tides change so dramatically that the boat hangs above the ground when the water goes away. If not, the boats would tip when they hit 'dry land'. I use quotations because it's all muck.

Hey, Barbs! I just want to clear something up about glagolitic script (the ancient alphabet). It was created by Saint Cyril and Saint Methodius (Greek missionaries) in 9th century and it was used to teach South and West Slavs Christianity. And it was actually Croatia who used it for the longest time (even so far as 19th century). It wasn't used exclusively in Bulgaria, so it probably would be better to say "ancient Slavic alphabet" so as to not insult Balkans too much. You know how little they like that :)

Glagoljica (glagolitic script) isn't an ancient version of ćirilica (cyrillic script), here in Bosnia and Croatia we used both scripts at the same time, Cyril invented glagolitic and his students invented cyrillic, I can read both of them (cyrillic better because we learn it in school, I learned glagolitic on my own) and of course latin script

In Greece we also put on the same bracelets as Bulgarians do. We keep them on from the beginning til the end of March. Tradition has it that this tiny red and white bracelet protects you from sunburn. That is because in Greece the sun is shining most of the time and at the beginning of spring the temperature starts to rise, which might result to you getting a sunburn. That, of course, if you're not wearing the bracelet😆. I didn't know that Bulgarians have the same tradition, and i would like to know if they have the same explanation for it.

At 2:37 you showed a map of the Lower Rhine-Westphalia area of the HRE of which the County of Rietberg (not "Reitberg") is a part of. I got a bit confused because my hometown lies in the red area but I didn't even know about the existance aof Rietberg.

The only country to have won Winter Olympics medals, but not any in the summer. As well, 7 of their 10 medals have come from the same family.
