In 3 years I went from watching the episodes live to recording them, to fast forwarding through the show, and now not even watching it.
I started about a year and a half ago and have followed the same evolution on an albeit shorter timeline.
Natural progression
The fall was so drastic and upsetting and unfortunately self inflicted.
Jericho: perfect 1st heel champion to now the 2nd worst part of the show behind Pockets.
Hangman: perfect up and coming star to boring ass sad sack.
Moxley: perfect AEW guy you can get behind to just unnecessary blader and sloppy "wrestler"
The Elite: good and bad to bad and worse.
MJF: The single best homegrown talent to being bloodsucked by Jericho. I've personally hated MJF since the dinner theater shit but his promos since coming back in August won me back.
Only good consistent thing is Danielson.

People say that pockets sells merch but whenever I look in the crowd I don't see any of his shirts, it's noticable

The segment about the ratings is my favorite weekly wrestling program.

I'm not going to watch, but I'm curious if he will win. Tony's been pushing Yuta like he's the next big thing, but we all know Pockets is his favorite pet, I mean wrestler.
from hour 1 into hour 2 i think i unmuted my tv 2 times. for the ricky promo, and the bryan / mjf promo. the orange match was okay as was the acclaimed match, but good lord the women's match reeked of rampage / dark elevation levels of bad. speaking of rampage i heard they couldn't clear 278,000 total views last week.

My uncle and kid also did gods work by going to this horrible show. So glad I gave my kid the ticket my uncle and sister bought for me.😆😆

I like to consider myself a fair man, so I will say this: while the AEW style and presentation are pretty much everything I hate about professional wrestling, I at least thought the show was fairly logical and decently-booked during those early months. But as time has gone by, it’s become harder and harder to say anything nice about the show
It’s become abundantly clear that AEW desperately needs a good booker, but I’ve come to the realization that everybody should eventually come to: AEW will NEVER have a different booker than Tony Khan because the whole point of AEW’s existence is for Tony Khan to live out his fantasy of playing booker. Dude is a rich kid and AEW’s wrestlers are his toys

I’m glad Brian is with me on Ruby Soho. I really find her hokey and her ring work looks painfully telegraphed. She hits the ropes like she’s slowing down so they don’t hurt. Aside from the entrance music, I switch off when she’s on.

Sadly I've mostly stopped watching AEW entirely. The booking and story has virtually no development or meaning. I only come to here to listen to Corny and Brian's take hoping one day AEW will receive a legitimate booker with REAL experience to plant the fruit of AEW before it withers away.

I've stopped watching AEW and started watching WWE. And it's funny cuz I haven't watched since the Attitude Era and it was AEW that got me back into it with the return of CM Punk.

Based on how she's (Britt) been glued to Jamie and all that drama with TR during the Brawl Out, I suspect Britt been politicking extremely hard to stay in her "Top Spot". After TR got the belt she was flailing to stay in the picture. Ever since Toni was made interim champ Britt has been hovering around Jamie and Toni nonstop, and it's not even subtle.
Saraya being desperate to be back in the ring doing anything is perfect cuz Britt gets to just hang out and be the hero while sapping Jamie of any solo potential.
I also think its hella odd that Britt claimed TR was unsafe AFTER taking a deathvalley driver through a table outside the ring once she was no longer champ.
I just finished the 2/22 episode of Dynamite and I thought for once, JUST ONCE!! Moxley was going to finish a match without getting color but fuck me sideways literally 3 mins before going off air he just had to blade himself 😖😭
I love wrestling, I watch AEW & WWE respectively. I totally understand where Jim is coming from and he makes me crack tf up 😂😂😂

The only thing I genuinely want now in wrestling is a video of people who watched wrestling in the 90s/2000s doing a massive spiel about how they loved Austin and the rock and undertaker and Jericho and angle. Then have them watch and react to aew dynamite. With a small Picture in Picture box of kahn, Jericho and moxley listening to all the reactions to their trash.
There's no way a guy like Jim Ross, who was around for the golden era of WWE, thinks what Tony is doing in AEW is great booking. No way.

I could not tell you a single damn thing that happened on that episode. I think I was awake for maybe half of the first match and fell asleep, and I had it on DVR.
The Wardlow story is so stupid. "I grew out my hair to honor my father, and then Joe cut it off." So then grow it tf back you big baby!🤣

Both companies using Jim Cornette's picture makes me realize, whatever you want to say about him as an agent, producer, booker, trainer, manager, author, columnist, critic, salesman, Jim Cornette might just be underrated as a photographer.
On Sonjay, the discrepancy between Jim's experiences and what we see on screen, Dutt would always ass off in TNA if he was given bullshit, such as the "reverse" battle royal. Some wrestlers can be serious, and believable, if you tell them to be, but have to be told or they default to bullshit, and some wrestlers default to bullshit if presented with it. That's one thing, for all his faults, I've learned to appreciate about Low Ki. He always TRIES to play it straight, even when it literally isn't possible, he still tries.
To have all the respectable professional wrestling knowledge dropped right in your lap from Jim to Tony if he would just listen ,absorb ,process then coherently execute. Presto . Bravo ,success!

Wednesday night's episode of AEW Dynamite averaged 824,000 viewers on TBS, down 8.3 percent from last week. It's the lowest audience total for the show since November 16.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

And raw and smackdown used to average 4-6m a week and now have been barely averaging 1.7 - 2m every week even less since 2011....what happened to the other 3-6m viewers over the last 13 years?
@@The_Knight_Rider1980 Smackdown still gets 2.5 to 3 million a week, don’t know where you get 1.7 for that at. Raw gets 1.7 to 2 but ALL wrestling sucks so that’s why ratings are down, but I’d much rather have the WWE numbers if I was a network than averaging 800k or less every week
@@robdurfee6861 Not according to Jim Cornette and the analysis of the ratings. Raw hasnt seen 2m since 2011 and smackdown hasnt seen anything near 3m since 2013 so again what happened to 3 - 6m viewers that have decided to run off in the last 13 or so years. Here is the thing AEW has only been around for 4 years now, managed to secure a network in the UK for 4 years now where WWE failed to manage 3 months at its peak with channel 4 and wcw failed to secure near a year in 1993 on saturday lunchtime, clearly 1/4 of the viewers that used to watch WWE switched to AEW.
In europe WWE has plummeted massively hard due to the subsciptions of sky and euro sat asking for £100 a month apposed to £20-40 to have everything not to mention the asking price for PPV at £29.99 on sky box office, no wonder the sales are down and that is just the international market. I would be be more worried as a network knowing WWE used to average 4-6m a week and now can barely scrape 2 for raw on a good day and 2.5 for smackdown as apposed to a company 4 years in its infancy that has brought in more viewers than even the WWF did in its infancy in the early 80's.
I have not watched WWE since 2011 anyway, I check out the odd highlights on channel 5 to see if its gotten better only to turn it off after 3 minutes, atleast with AEW it has things I enjoy about old school wrestling not only that they dont do that shaking cam BS WWE still does which is what really puts me off watching ontop of the over the top 3D HD junk they do.

If Corny watched Rampage, he'd know that's what Jim Ross does now. He only commentates on that show. Also I think everything with Vance happened on there too.

That would require a drop of over 461k viewers from last week. Not going to happen. Their worst "Dynamite" rating was 462k on 4 June 2021 if I'm not mistaken. The worst in their history was for the last "Rampage" anyway, 287K.
Doesn't mean it's not going to be bad. The question is whether they stay above 800k - or drop into the 750k-plus range and what happens then in March.

That was honestly one of the worst AEW episodes I've seen for a long time. Even MJF/Danielson has been lackluster.
AEW Dynamite jumped the shark around the time that they walked out of a locked shark cage by going between the bars as she fumbled opening the lock.. it was at least entertaining in a bad way with stars and talent like FTR, Punk, Starks, Cole, Danielson, MJF, Acclaimed, Darby, Wardlow, Etc..
It's so bad now.

@@bls8959 Apart from the atmosphere of the crowd, my favorite wrestlers being involved in matches and interviews, the hard hitting opening match for the AA title, Ricky Starks conning Chris Jericho into a match a Revolution, not to mention that awesome running Fore-Arm shot Danielson did on MJF outside of the ring Try watching it then you will know.

I honestly didn't want to listen to this only cause I have not watched aew in weeks maybe even months. Just nothing they put out has been great or good. I don't even care 1 bit about most of the wrestlers and even the guys I do like they wrestling with no bodies who should be washing toilets not hopping around the ring like jackrabbits. I like listening to you guys but I was hoping AEW had closed its doors until they learn what wrestling is and not hopping around the ring like jackwagons.

It has been a while since I have gotten second-hand embarrassment while watching a wrestling show, but Jon Moxley broke that streak during this episode. His oversized, ripped t-shirt and bleeding for no reason in a nonsensical match was enough to make me turn the channel and not go back. Everything they do at this point looks amateurish, cheap, and unfocused.
I am sure both TK and AEW will survive without your viewership.
I hope Tony Khan gets over the issues he's been having with his family's health for he could have his head clear to put out good shows like he was 💯

I've watched wrestling for 20 years and I think aew is a joke!! They just put on a bunch of random matches with little to no compelling stories!! I've been saying it for months thst it's just a bunch of matches with little to no build!! Tony khan is running aew like his action figure federation he had when he was 10 years old!! He needs to hire somebody thatbhas experience in the bussiness to make the show watchable!!!
