It's important to note that current Arkansas Athletic Director Hunter Yurachek did NOT hire Morris. After former AD Jeff Long was fired for incompetence, associate AD Julie Cromer-Peoples was allowed to hire the next AD by the UA Board of Trustees. Huge mistake! She is the one who picked Morris, and then promptly fled to Ohio U. Good riddance. Yurachek inherited Morris, saw the division within the locker room, and made the decision to can Chad with two games left in 2019. Lane Kiffin was Yurachek's first choice, but when Kiffin's sports manager, Sexton, tried to start a bidding war between Arkansas and Ole Miss, Yurachek walked away and chose Pittman.
What a great pick! Sam has said that Arkansas would be his first and only head coaching stop, and he has turned around the program! The players absolutely love him!
And now, it looks like Kiffin very well could be leaving Ole Miss for Miami. I'm not surprised. He's a jumper. If he would use Tennessee to go to USC, he'll definitely use Mississippi to go anywhere else!

He's a great recruiter who's hired great couches. He is one of the reason's Georgia's offensive line is so great, and was the assistant coach in 2019. He helped build that team to what they are now and just think what he's going to do here at Arkansas being as he just loves Arkansas and the program.. That was kind of my take on it. Pittman seemed to really just love every facet of being a razorback. That alone got me on board. When they asked him what had to change, he didn't talk players. He talked about culture and pride in being a razorback. He came in willing to coach whoever showed up to play. It was more important the razorbacks have pride in their tradition than it was to bad mouth former coaches or talk about what kind of players were needed.

Chad Morris was overpaid and a complete embarrassment for the UofA. We have a history of settling for coaches of this magnitude. Nutt had arguably the two best starting running back duo in College Football history in Felix Jones and Darren Mcfadden, and still managed to not win an SEC championship or the bowl game to Wisconsin. Nutt was a curse. Petrino had a good offense but no defense. Brett B was a disappointment. Morris was horrific. Sam Pitman seems pretty good so far but it's still early in his tenure. We'll see. KJ Jefferson is the best QB we've had since Matt Jones. Barry Odom isn't cutting it on defense lately unless he changes things up fast. Arkansas has always struggled to have a physical, big, fast defense of the likes of Alabama and Georgia. None of the coaches mentioned above have had that caliber of a defense at Arkansas. We simply just cant get that talent/recruits for defense it seems. We have Catalon and Williams this year and they definitely stand out. But as a whole, the defense is not impressive. We need better safties, linebackers, and a bigger more powerful defensive line. That's the key to a National Championship. Go Hogs!

This program was never dead.... They were still recruiting tons of talent. They program has some of the best facilities. This team was asleep and was wakened up when Coach Pittman arrived. The team was just going through the motions during Chad's destruction. Definitely not a dead program. Jeff Long hired shit coaches. Ones that messed with women, drinking problems or were just right liars and frauds. Hunter is a blessing and Pittman too.

Im a realist that leans toward pessimism. I prepare for and expect the worst, but hope for the best. As a hog fan, my preseason prediction was 5-7 with wins against Rice, Georgia Southern, UAPB, Missouri, and Miss State. With big wins against Texas and A&M I'm 7-2 on my predictions so far. With that being said they have exceeded my expectations and my updated record prediction is 7-5 with losses to LSU and Bama. Although I believe LSU to be winnable, I don't get my hopes up.

He will hold a place in our history like Bobby P.

No program is ever really "dead". Winning comes in cycles; people just have to be patient. Bammer's been on a winning wave (absolutely no pun intended) for a while, but it'll come to an end. A&M has proved that Nick and Co. aren't invincible. Anyway, Arkansas is coming back. Kudos to the die-hards who stick with them.

Time for an Arkansas update. At the end of week 11 they are 7-3 after a narrow 3 pt loss to Ole Miss at The Grove
and another day of one sided officiating favoring Auburn (again!!). They even took out LSU in Death Valley 16-13 with kicker Cam Little getting two SEC player awards for his 3 of 3 boots through the up rights. With Alabama in Tuscaloosa this Saturday and Mizzou in Fayetteville the next and last regular season game, the Razorbacks stand a great chance to go 8-4 this year in a Sam Pittman Cinderella team makeover! It sucks cuz if u think about it Arkansas is an auburn win, a two point conversion to beat ole miss, and a touchdown and two point conversion to beat Alabama away from being playoff contenders. Maybe a couple touchdowns in the Georgia game. Super happy with what Pittman has done, but man, would love to have the auburn and ole miss games back. If we could have just pulled those out we would easily be in a New Years six bowl.

I think and also thank the ex-players for getting Pittman back at Arkansas. Dan Skipper, Frank Ragnow and a few more wrote letters to the AD...KJ and many off the team were recruited By CM mostly his staff. No leadership and being told constantly that they needed to be upgraded with younger more talented players. Unprepared talented athletes still lose 18 out of 22 games. Hurts saying it even. We only have 1 SEC win this year so far ....number 2 this weekend?

Arkansas reminds me a lot of Mizzou. They underperform considering they are the only D1 football program in the state and should be getting the state's top recruits. This goes for football and basketball both. I don't understand why these schools aren't perennial powerhouses in at least one of those sports.

    • @Ethan1123Ac

Arkansas doesn’t really produce d1 talent. Maybe 2-3 guys every year are d1 good and a lot of years we have 1 guy that can play at the sec level in our state. Hogs actually have been consistently solid for decades but the stink of petrino and two bad hires ended up becoming the worst 4 year stretch in the programs history.

After seeing Arkansas and Ole Miss play along with the Texas A&M Alabama game. I believe Chad Morris and KJ Jefferson can take them in to beat Alabama. The Ole Miss game was a damn good game in the Arkansas Razorbacks have nothing to be ashamed of. They work their butts off. And if I was a coach I would’ve went with the two pointInstead of the field-goal also.
