Aah the 405. One of LA’s most famous Parking lot structures.

On the 405, both sides of the freeway are always jammed up between Wilshire Blvd in West L.A and La Cienaga Blvd and yet when you were driving northbound on that notorious stretch you didn’t encounter a traffic jam. Amazing! Fortunately you exited the 405 (transitioning to the 10) just as the northbound lanes were coming to a grinding halt. Well done !

The LA freeways remind me of how Miami's highways used to be 20 years ago. The texture, grime, barriers, traffic, signs, street lights.... everything. Actually, LA looks cleaner than Miami used to be years ago.

I love traveling to LA and driving on the 405! Much better than driving in Seattle.

Dude, i would be stoked to get this traffic flow. Go hit the 101, 10, and 5 between 3PM - 6PM trying to leave LA, you will change your mind 100% money back guaranteed.

I remember my first time driving in LA for Fluffys special at the Dodger Stadium, just alone from airport to downtown was about an hour and 45 minutes, but left 6am the next day and highway drive felt open but super fast drivers lmao loved it though

Where you got on was where I would get off, visiting McDonnell Douglas in the 1980s.

LA gets bad reputation for traffic, but remember it is only during rush hour and holidays. I visited as a tourist and I just planned around rush hour and i was always moving. High traffic volume does not mean a standstill. It keeps moving at most times.

I have driven on the 405 many times. Sometimes I sat there for hours!

I've driven this for 40 years. No matter what they (CalTrans) does:
It always gets bad as you near LAX, mostly NB
The Sepulveda pass always sucks no matter how many lanes they add
The 405/101 (NB) exchange is deadly. You have cars screaming on a decline trying to exchange? Bad idea.
The "South Bay curve" is almost always bad.
Infrastructure improvements are always decades late and take decades to complete.
I've driven for 2 hours without seeing a CHP.

I don't live in California but visit often. I find Californians to be quite friendly. I would also argue that California drivers are the best in the US... they drive fast and keep traffic flowing, but don't tend to tailgate and usually treat other drivers and pedestrians respectfully.

      @Ndw1995 Před rokem +3

I want to know where you visited, because I live here and am very close to blowing a gasket because of the people here. I absolutely HATE living here. Nothing but tailgaters and middle fingers on the roads

@@Ndw1995 I've driven around LA and Orange County, the Bay Area and San Diego. For some reason, San Diego drivers seemed the most aggressive of the three. I guess I am comparing California drivers to a lot of other places. Drivers in Texas, Florida and the Northeast are way more aggressive than drivers in California in my experience. Who knows though, it could have just been my luck of the draw while driving in those places. Sorry to hear that you like California though, hopefully you can move to a place that better suits you if you are able to make it happen!

California is a very exaggerated state. We drove the highways around LA multiple times with no traffic, the only traffic was during rush hour ofc but it wasn’t as bad as they make it seem. Just small slowdowns. It’s just a lot of cars since the highways are so big, not traffic
