Also good to note: you can stay in a "spellbook" as long as you wish, so your QE EE combo can be done super fast by pressing q early, and whem ready just triple tapping e.
While fair, it does give your opponent a visual warning of what abilities may be coming

For QW, the execute dmg only applies if they are immobilized or isolated. Otherwise it just does regular dmg, no missing hp scaling. The reason it may sometimes seem to go off when they aren’t cc’d is likely cause they were isolated instead

Thanks for continuing to play him and trying to God honest be good at him so we can see what more-or-less optimized gameplay looks like. I really love watching Pekin more than anyone else for PBE content because creators like Zwag don't even read the abilities before they jump in, and that was especially miserable to watch for the champ with 10 abilities.
Not only that I stopped watching zwag because he’s a typical high elo player playing in shit show elo just running around and getting kills…

It took me too long to realize his Qs and Es are paired in parallel. Landing EQ makes the enemy run in a straight line, making it easier to land QQ. EW snares long enough for QW to land. And EE slows them inside the QE, and can even bring back enemies into the rift.

@@Dyanosis I haven't played him, yet i already remember all his spells and know intuitively which ones i pekin should use in each situation- The champion is almost an extended version of Karma. He seems very hard at first, but playing it a couple of times or watching a few videos should give you a perfectly good idea of how he works.
The QW missing hp extra damage ONLY activates if they're isolated or immobilized. So if you QW 2 champions that are both low hp but not immobilized, they won't take the extra missing health damage.

Really seems like one of Hwei's biggest strengths is adaptability....so he can scale and adapt to whatever the current game needs. That's really cool

A note: the bonus damage on QW is dealt "to" Immobilized or Isolated enemies "based on" their missing HP. This means immobilized and isolated enemies qualify for bonus damage and the damage is increased based on their missing HP.

i think what would make a good Hwei would be someone who has the key inputs for each of the spells just locked into muscle memory. like touch typing where you would not think of typing in terms of each letter, but instead you memorize how your hand moves for each group of letters or each word. also, high ping makes it really difficult to land your abilities lol (especially ult since it has a small hitbox and travels slowly)
Hwei support with maxing e w and relying almost more on the passive procs should be nice. imagine the shield a ww can give you early on a lane with just one shield amp. adc can stand there for a few secons every 12 seconds without losing anything. i think ill love him as a support as much as i'm sure i will love playing him mid

Ahhh, so what I had been thinking is, QQ in general is the best harass tool if you can hit it cuz it dealts % hp max HP damage, and then EW into QW is the best execution combo when they're HP is now lower than half, There's a little smidge of delay you can wait a bit before the root hits and then QW cuz you're relatively safe thanks to Hwei's Artillery mage capabilities. EW on top of the enemy, walk away, if it hits harass with an un-dodgable QW, it's like a veigar W setup with his wall but the snare is sure hit as long as they don't have something like a spellshield, cuz EE is too narrow to be whipped out unless somebody's slowed or strafing left and right than forwards and backwards, but in a teamfight, probably easier to hit- depends on circumstance tho. He has such great situational capabilities and it's awesome, totally gonna be a pick or ban champ xDD

I think its best to use WW in teamfight if theres an enemy who tend to focus the backline, EW is best to use on brush since it expire the moment the enemy got out of the circle, then EQ is good for picking, I still think WW is more valuable in teamfights than WE since you're already dealing so much damage unless of course you have the advantage such as map control or positioning... I like to think his WW is like Sera's empower W, but instead of the heal, it just grow to be bigger.

Stormsurge's tooltip is misleading - the lightning bolt damage scales with AP, level, and comedic timing: the funnier it would be for the lightning bolt to kill someone, the more likely it will.

To answer the question at the end of the video, no, I feel like Viktor/Syndra/Orianna all instantly kill Ezreal without even trying that hard. Hwei seems like a fun champ to master, but it'll be interesting to see if he does anything else better than what the current roster already does.
pekkin! try hwei with rod of ages into rylies, hwei does super well with the extra health and qe is so strong in teamfights especially when you also have the slow from rylies, i really like running triple tonic aswell for the extra skill point at lvl 9

I still think that Aphelios is more difficult, cause you have to take into account the weapon swaps and the timing with the guns in fights. As HWEI you can always abort abilities with your R, you just have to memorize all 10 abilities and practice. From what I've seen so far + playing on PBE, he feels good to play - not easy but also not extreme difficult.
Agreed. Diversity =/= difficulty, I feel like having a bigger arsenal = more ways to deal with various situations = less emphasis on basic skills such as positioning or waiting opportunities, which are bigger factors than remembering 10 abilities imo. But doing the right imputs is still some sort of APM, I think we'll definitely see more difference between good and bad Hweis than good and bad Aurelion Sol.

Electrocute is the best rune imo cause he's combo reliant, plus u only need to use to abilities to proc it due to passive. Also using QE>EE is better than EE>QE cause u get the slow making it easier to land the cc and keep them in the burn a lot longer that way. That is the combo i spam and its very effective especially with electrocute. I tried experimenting QW>EE when they get low but i get 200 ping on pbe so I cant tell it its effective or not. You can try that and see.

This character looks really fun! And I don't play mage much.
So, unless there's been changes, after testing Hwei in the practice tool and taking some notes, his QW never does more damage than QQ or QE. Its only benefit is the range. I tested by itself, with CC, with full combo, it never did more, which is really sad. QE does the most by quite a bit and also, if you think about it, is buffed by CC (since if they don't walk out they get hit with it all).
At rank 5:
Qq is 200+.7 AP+ .08 target max health.
Qw is 160+.3 AP and scales up to 480+.9 AP (theoretically at 99% missing health).
More realistic to be around 320+.6 AP (50% missing health) to 384+.72 AP (80% missing health).
To be fair, the range is ridiculous.
@@pldl10yeah, but that's exactly the issue. a lot of abilities like this stop scaling at a low non 100% missing health value, I think this ability does scale all the way to 100% missing health which makes a lot of that damage damage that doesn't matter and that you won't see. Even at 80% missing health, a lot of your damage is probably going to overkill
his ult has a 66% ap ratio of a lux laser, and most of his abilities have 58.3% ap ratio of a lux laser, impressive huh

Your QW wasn't dealing that much dmg because you used it when they were full hp when the dmg increases based on how much hp they are missing so basically you didn't get any bonus dmg when you hit them because they weren't missing any hp
