it's amazing how pretty much all the concept arts turned into the final movie, extremely faithfully too,Adam and crew really had the ideas clear and knew what they wanted,in fact, the relatively small budget for such a heavily CGI blockbuster was used to its fullest and not wasted at all,the effects are amazing and clean all-around,with very few instances looking off
I'm sure there is a lot of stuff not used, some movies have hundreds/ thousands of art pieces, from sketches to what you see in the book. Artbooks are only ever a glimpse, the artists post more online too, but that's just the stuff they want you see!
I wish that the Hollow Earth bioluminescence jungle made it into the final film. I'm not a fan of the alternate designs for Shimo and Skar King, so I'm glad we got the final designs. The art in this book is amazing. I really like Jia's alternate outfit. That design and the design that made it into the film felt very close to what the Mothra fairies wore in the old films. I know that's what Jia's gonna go for.
There's a lot of love for the characters. Jared, the lead creature designer, is a fun follow on social media. He really lived his dream designing the updated Godzilla and it shows
I feel like king of the monsters and GvK books had a lot more insight and visuals that were kept out of the film. Wingard said himself he had like 3 hours more of film. Let's see some concept or shots of what that may have been 🥺 please
Yeah I like this book a lot, some have a tendency to load up on photos, but this got it right. I might have to check out the other artbooks for the series!
Thanks for watching! It's a nice book, the slipcase isn't the best, made of very thin card, but the contents make up for it. Well worth adding to your shelf if you enjoyed the movie
For whatever reason, he was included later in the book, I was confused by this decision too. A great book, but some confusing ordering. It may have been better to introduce the art in the order it appeared in the movie, but there is some great stuff for Godzilla when you get there
Anywhere online that sells books, Amazon is the safe bet, but your countries own sellers will likely stock this. Its just come out so should be easy to find

Yeah, the amount of stuff that managed to get into the final film is impressive for today standards

really like one-eye's old designs
The ape designs are really strong in this book, must be hard for them to choose the final look. Thanks for watching!

I wouldn't know what to call it, he looks like an old stray

Wait, did they just skip Godzilla for the Titan section?? I guess that’s fine because they gave him his own section.
