- amzn.to/3IZFdth The Unique jaw design on these Knipex 082145 CombinationNeedle Nose pliers could be considered an oxymoron with their serious grabbing power in a stubbly needle nose design. Maybe that's a double oxymoron?

Good lord these pliers with comfort grip have become my most used pliers at work. They're permanently attached to my hip. It's a million times better than all the leathermans my colleagues have. The only reason I bought them is because you brought them to my attention with this video. Thanks!
The only thing I believe might make them a more perfect set of pliers is if they used crosshatch pattern for the grip section. They are already a high-leverage joint design, so it would be nice to have that omnidirectional, minimally-marring grip.
Glad to be of help. I completely agree!
I have this pliers with the VDE handle, and is one of my favorites. I like the convex jaw design, for gripping flat objects. Also if you take a look, the joint is closer to the cutting edges, Knipex described this as a high leverage joint. And yes, you can apply more force to the cutting edges and is surprisingly powerful for its size. The stubby needle nose is anti twist and very strong. Nice video and comparison with the other tools. 👍👍
Just scanning through five-minute vids (lack of patience) and came across yours here. Brill, thanks!
I have these and never noticed the improved grip, sweet! Thanks for sharing!
These are one of my favorite pliers.
Beautiful pliers and excellent video!
This is indeed, my prefered set of pliers for everything. Very good review
Really good demonstration of the gripping power with it punching way above it's class. Effectively getting 3 points of contact for a rock-solid grip (2 on one side with the 3rd opposite squeezing between). I have one inbound for my Klein Tools 7-inch zipper bag mini toolkit. Pairing it with a Snap-on 6-inch 46ACF combination slip joint that has the crosshatch pattern on the grip section that I'll use for less discrete use. Smaller pliers are often overlooked.
Many thanks, Sir, great tool, great vid! 🙂 This is my favorite Knipex pliers - it fits perfect to my EDC.
I love the 08XX145 pliers and have several pairs in various kits/bags. I'd really like to see a 125mm and 160mm version.
185s are coming
This is my favourite pair of pliers and by far my most used one. I was especially surprised how the cutters compared to average side cutters. On one occasion it was necessary for me to cut a whole bunch of little steel springs (about 100) and as i got tired using a wire cutter from "Wisent" (Size 180mm), i thought i am going to try these combination pliers from knipex (145mm) on them instead. Allthough it was shorter, it was way easier to cut the springs AND i then also used them to put the springs into place!
Greetings from Germany!
Gewirtz DOC. now I have to buy another knipex pliers. Great content.
Had 0822145 for a couple of years now, probably one of my most used pairs of pliers. They are the radio pliers, There is also the interesting telecoms one which a a grippy flat blade.
Absolutely my new favorite pliers. Now my twin grips have slid into second place.
I have these with the standard grip and they are my first grab when stripping fibre cables, they cut great without too much squashing and the small eye is just right for wrapping the rip cord around and then the stubby nose for detail holding.
i like that light
great design, it creates almost 3 points of contact
Just when you think you've got enough pairs of pliers,, 🤯🤯🤣,,,
Paused the video, to buy some, 🎉💰💰
Nice to have a small pair of pliers , that can exert duress on a nut !
Nice tools, great presentation, awesome channel... Subscribed!
Thanks for the sub!
There you are! Was wondering when this video would come up! Fantastic pair of pliers!
Oddly there's a version, the 0825145, that's available in India that seems to be in a kind of stainless finish. Couldn't find it on the main Knipex site.
Looks like chrome plated.
I have one with a different grip..now I need to see this..m
I need a link to that handy little diffused light you have there.
Ah, at last!
Can you imagine if that plier head was fitted in a Leatherman? It's the right size.
Funny you should say that - when I first saw these I thought of them as a more refined version of the classic Wave/Charge pliers, sort of a set of Leatherman pliers without a knife or the other tools.
I love leatherman but as far as plier strength i think something like this would be 2-3 times stronger at least
@@coryohanlan194 Exactly. They are the same size, just better. Says someone that owns and loves both.
I feel sure it must be possible to fit them in somehow.
@@coryohanlan194 Easily, totally agree.
First time I held this Knipex and looked at it's pliers they struck me as similar to my Victorinox Spirit's
Doc, can you talk on the grip strength of chromed pliers vs standard please?
The hole is for Holding nails so you dont smack your fingers with a hammer.
As a traveling bike mechanic these pliers have replaced a few pliers (and lightened my load) definitely go with comfort grip vinyl felt underpowered
Please show Campy crank bolts whenever you can, you do have the Campy wrench right?👍
Hey Doc I want to buy a pair of the Snap-On slip joint (tri) pliers needle nose and regular. I would like one of each. I think they come in 7" and 9" but even if I am wrong and just wanted one length for general DIY what's the sweet spot on those. I was thinking the bigger ones but maybe not?
They’re wire cutters with a extras tacked on. That’s not a bad combo.
So what is it bad at then?
I was wondering why the price went up. Seems like a good daily. Would be interesting to see a mini slip joint long nose from knipex.
because POTATUS Brandon had the Nord Stream 1 & 2 pipelines blown up before selling US gas to the germans four times or more what they paid them russkies for it. 🙄
you shoud try the wiha combination plyers the have also the of center jaw .
I have a set.
They're rubbish in comparison to any Knipex pliers that I have.
The side cutters are all wobbly too.
@@tomcardale5596 then probably it depends where you live. I live in europe And every wiha plyers thet i got are pin point perfekt
@@sebastianfaix I live in Europe too! And mine are a big disappointment compared to Knipex and NWS pliers.
@@tomcardale5596 They are made in Vietnam and not even much cheaper than Knipex. I love Wiha screwdrivers but won't buy any of their pliers ever.
this is my edc plier. in eastern europe if you have a plier in your pocket daily you are a weirdo ;)))
Got these on the way with the 6 inch cobras in a little pouch to carry at work. Because my 5 inch cobras are cool and nice but maybe a little too small to carry at work, ill retire them to my weekend pockets
