The Division 1 and 2 maps are like some of the best ones imo. Really nice touch how this game is a mesh of Ubisoft's other shooter/action titles. If the game gets good support like how they do R6 Siege and Div2 then we may have a decent contender against COD. I'm keeping an eye out yet treading lightly with this one.
Can confirm there is an SnD like mode in the game that might be live when the ranked alpha unlocks on the 20th, not exactly SnD but still a fun time and things could have changed since last I played it :)
only time will tell tbh. if COD picks up it’s old routes again then this is gonna be some great competition. but if COD continues how it is now, the majority of its player base may have moved over to this just because of the classic COD feel

I think the problem started when gaming communities started comparing the series to Battlefield(to be precise, when BF3 and MW3 came out) From there, it was a fight for who had the best graphics, details etc. As for the "matches feeling like a CDL championship", it has been like that. However, it has been going worse since the BR genre became trending, I must guess.
That a game works this good so early on is amazing. It’s actually working better in this closed beta than most triple A titles at launch “looking at you Battlefield 2042”.

Na not if no SBMM stays true. Especially since we forgot how good lobbies were since before mw19, the game will have open variety on the casual playlists. There will still be your “meta” users, but you won’t come across it too much. The problem with mw2 is that you can’t have fun without getting punished for it. Say I get lucky and have a burger lobby on Mw2, say I drop 40-50 kills just sniping or using a pistol or a knife even, just having fun that game, I get paired up to meta sweats when all I want to do is use some bullshit non meta weapon and have fun, but the constant sweating just ruins the flow to where your good games are just trash because you know you’re gonna get punished for doing good. This will create that same nostalgia that we loved in classic cods simply because we can run around and be brain dead every game. The ranked playlist has always been the calling for sbmm, not casual playlists. Therefore if this game lands it’s promise, it will be a fine competitor to FPS gaming. Call of duty will be the only franchise to ever destroy it’s own brand.

My Honest opinion of the game: The gunplay is kinda like Warface, not quite as crisp and snappy as regular Cod. Perhaps given more time it could improve but as it stands right now I'd say Cod is still sitting pretty. I think my whole bias came from the fact Jackfrags a CZcamsr I also enjoy watching said the gameplay was reminiscent of old school cod and I jumped into the beta with that in mind but felt somewhat disappointed. But that's really about it for me in terms of my thoughts so far
Finally a multiplayer free to play, it´s the future i said it like 4 years ago when all the fucking devs started to focus on BR themed games, free multiplayer without SBMM is way adictive than a stupid BR with SBMM, hope COD, Apex, take notes on this

Cod prefers little maze maps where u just coin flip kills with split second kill guns at 10 yard or less distance. It just feels so sloppy now. Old cod felt so much more skill based

1:30 this map looks like a map from ghost recon online called attica heights. was sad when it shut down, it was a hard game to play and get the hang of but satisfying at the same time.
the game going into windowed mode when you die has to be the strangest glitch ive seen in a game. it is a little jarring going from 300 fps to 60 everytime you die
I’m not expecting a cod killer, I’m expecting a good time without sbmm for a month in my life. More importantly so, I just expect this game to get me to the back to those days when we all used to off mosquitos by taping them to the speakers and blasting thrash metal through them an entire week long i miss that so much

Almost seems like they’re making this game for people with thumbs. Didn’t know that was a thing at all in 2023. Wish more people realized this then this game WOULD kill cod. But they won’t unfortunately and it won’t either

Ahhh yes the "cod killer" cycle... Every once in a while, an fps game pops up leading to people thinking it will replace cod but then it fails to do so and the cycle continues again.
only thing that scares me about this game is the halo to splitbreak thing... Splitbreak came a long and made a new game in the genre that was really good but felt a little more arcade-like. I feel like it got stale super quick because it didnt have the same emotion that maps and gameplay from halo did.
The next cod rival is more like it. Nothing will ever kill cod, but there will be a game that can give it competition and force them to make changes if their player count keeps dipping.

XDefiant will take a lot of the COD player base. Being a free game they have the potential of being the Fortnite or the FPS genre.
