Great YT, what if it's only a Microsoft Account?
This is the reason I always encrypt my system drive.
and then you forget your password to unlock your drive or your locked out of Microsoft account, also people would need access to your computer. Also what is that secret on your pc that you need to use bitlocker?
@@Britec09 you might be right for a desktop, but i do not want this easy access on a laptop when it might get lost/stolen. Why protect your privacy, when you are not doing anything illegal. this answer is dangerous and stupid. why do you lock your phone? what is going on in your house that you have to lock the doors? Sorry, a bit angry here (or dissapointed)
Great video! I've seen one like this before, and it's cool to see Kali Linux have the ability to reset the password on the fly, without changing system files. I've never had to use this type of method before though, but I'll keep it for future reference.
I use Lazesoft Recovery myself. Downloaded the software, install on USB, boot into USB reset the password and I'm all set. Best thing is the Home version is free.
I normally reset the password in Powershell, but this method looks faster. Thanks for the tip.

Good info and nice to see another way to reset password. Parted Magic has chntpw built into it and does the same and can be used with Ventoy.
In the past I was able to use a Floppy disk with bare bones boot ability and a small older Symantec disk editor (DE) to search and remove the Root password on Unix. Also gave the ability to to do this with most any version of Windows.
If i only knew this a few days earlyer, haha. Found an old evo860 with an windows on it, but was not able to login anymore, due to a forgotten password. Anyway, very helpfull this, i even made an flashdrive with the linux on it for futere cases!
Linux is where all the Wiz kid enthusiasts live if I was 25 again Linux would be the player base I would be using, but now I'm 65 I just need an easy life, so it doesn't surprise me in the slightest that Linux has got some of the best programmes that are out there today.
Is it a cultural thing why most mainstream software & games aren't supported on Linux or just compatability? Bcoz Wiz kids sure but me being a musician i'de be screwed SOL if I tried to go Linux when 99% of the tools we use aren't supported
@@JayfkProductions876 Most Linux users and programmers are trying to get away from Microsoft's grasp on the computer industry. So there's no surprise that a lot of this stuff will not work on Microsoft's platforms, but there is a lot that will run. Don't forget Linux users are into new stuff, new ideas, not the run-of-the-mill sort of stuff that you would find on a PC that has already been done. What they want to do is something new, something different.

Balena Etcher keeps failing. Is this the name of the correct ISO? kali-linux-2023.1-live-amd64 Using an 8gb flash drive.

@@danvalentine yeah if it keeps failing the iso corrupted mid-download. you can also do this via any linux distro with the chntpw package in the repo. there's also a way to do it if you can boot into recovery mode in windows. in Windows 11 there's a way to get there pretty easy. hold left shift, click the power button, then restart, keep holding until the screen goes blank and it should get you to where you need to be. from there you should be able to get to a cmd prompt where you can create a new account /change password with "net user "
i think theres a way using the bitlocker recovery key to get rid of bitlocker to then reset the password.
Did any other Linux distro can done this job? like Ubuntu, Mint, etc..?

No nothing can break an encrypted drive
Always encrypt your system drive but then no pwd reset do don't forget your password.

@@Britec09 that question is for Microsoft...on my laptop was enabled by itself so I think it should have been mentioned in this video this won't work if bitlocker is on

amd64 is a generic term used in file names to refer to 64 bit system

But if you do that, you would lose whatever information you have got on that drive.
A USB stick is a far better solution.

I use another method. I stick a windows installation usb, hold shift + F10, going to system32 directory, then renaming sethc.exe to sethc.exe.old and cmd.exe to sethc.exe or the same with utilman. then i open up ease of access, and then i get a command prompt, then I type in "net user Username *" then it'll prompt for a new password.

I woke up one morning and found out I have been deactivated, I was freaking out because it has never happened to me and this has been the source of my income I felt very depressed, how I can get my account back, I sent a lot of mails and no response until a friend referred me to *TECKNIKALZ* and I quickly sent a dm and he responded immediately I had to pay him to work on it and within 45 minutes I got two messages from my email stating am reactivated..
I did find them on Instagram.😊
