Man that was almost as fun as being there. Great skills and relaxed instructor, but it was Stevo, so I guess he knows you are a great pilot, although first time in a Decathlon. When I was 22 my father (air ambulance pilot/RCAF Lancasters et. al) knowing I was going for a planned amputation of my left leg above the knee (osteosarcoma) had a crazy friend of his give me 7.5 hours instruction. This guy was a 20,000 hour pilot who has multi ratings and CFI. He taught me in a Cessna 150, but he also did some no no's. He did a loop and a hammerhead one of the flights. He basically said if you do it wrong the wings would fold up as it was not certified for aerobatics. He gave me very little notice before doing the hammerhead, and soon after the loop. It was exhilarating to say the least. I never continued training even though I suppose there are above knee amputee pilots. Now I love flying the 172 with a garmin 1000 on the sim. I even just purchased the pilot's manual, 'Flight School PM 1. You never know, I might inquire if I could get my certificate if an instructor is willing to teach a 61 year old amputee. Cheers from Regina, Saskatchewan Canada

Thank all y'all from an Aeronca 7 and 8 guy who trained at Stead, NV. In memory of Captain Robert Ashby, a Tuskegee Airman, who passed away this year. He was recalled for Korea, where Dad flew with him in 3rd BW B-26 Invaders. It turns out my uncle knew him in later years as a member of their church in Denver. Small worlds... Flying the Super D at Stead during the winter was a lot of fun, but just remember to keep your feet dancing, alive on the rudder pedals, and not leave the airplane until it's tied down. We'd tie the airplane down even when we 'd land for a little beachcombing in Alaska. I retired from there, now an hour's drive from the Quest Aircraft factory, makers of the Kodiak, and closer to their training operator, Spokane Turbine Center. (nod to Missionary Bush Pilot).

Very cool Steveo - liked it a lot. Been so long since I've flown. My private pilot instructor was also an aerobatic instructor, and the only one in our area (New Mexico). He made private pilot training a little bit hard sometimes! Loved it though. Thanks guys. Love the Tuskegee airmen as well.

Brilliant video steveo, what a cool plane to fly in and an awesome pilot to talk you through those maneuvres! Looks like you had a real blast, not easy to land from the back seat with no view ;)

The greatest, deepest respect for the Tuskegee Airmen. Pilots, ground crew, all who served their country. I hope to visit once we get over Covid. Thanks for sharing this special place.
