I remember my friend telling me about this scene, I was so excited when I actually watchet this episode and saw it coming
I think Joe must have been a great partner to Monk, he seems very nice and not judgemental to Monk's fearness. I felt bad that nobody believed him that he was innocent and almost had his career ruined but at least he was reinstated.

The best part of this episode was Monk proving Joe was innocent and shaking Joe's hand without wiping it afterwards.
All is solved after Monk saw a single photo.
I wonder why Monk didn’t take his time to check on the case of missing drugs. He would’ve solved it in seconds.
@@iganpparamarta8813 he was off the police force by that point. Joe was still a cop when Trudy died. Monk was probably too damaged at the time to even help out.
RM_Prime thanks I thought he was still on the force then. Because the way Monk looks at Joe as if he was there when the evidence was missing.
@Paramarta Iganp I remember in the show that Joe was next to Monk when he got the call about Trudys death, and Monk left the force but still in touch. I missed this show, too bad is not on Netflix

Ok maybe they would have shown up and caught an over loaded van.
The van wasn't overloaded that time, it was just paper. They probably called the cops while Monk was inside.

It wouldn't be overloaded as they had likely finished the tunnel and/or wouldn't have needed to cart away any more dirt. But the cops would have been plenty close enough to chase.
The robbery was actually dependent on driving off quietly. It would take time to follow the tunnel back to the parking spot and then check cameras/witnesses to identify the vehicle.
Was jenny a fake identity? because the store employee-of-the-month would have tied the vehicle to her even if everything else had been fraudlent.
Thank god he shot into that parking lot full of people, or else the robbers they knew the identity off would totally have gotten away with the insurance covered money!
I just realized that Monk and the security guard were both in the Galaxy Quest movie.

Though I like his redemption story I'm kinda glad he didn't because this would've been about the time he started on Veronica mars and I like his role as on there a little better

Agreed. I think compared to even his assistants, Monk in that episode was also kinda his calmest when hanging around the guy. Like the sort of sarcastic quips he made? They were great.
I got to meet Enrico Colantoni at a VERONICA MARS cast autograph signing in 2005 and I told him how he was great in this episode. He said he was amazed how many people watch the show!

It's a shame he didn't even make a cameo when he Monk was temporarily back as a cop.
The way Monk was comfortably going shot-for-shot with Joe and not speaking awkwardly instead was the most relaxed ever (as far as Monk being sober). Tony Shelob is an amazing actor.
Probably the best friend Monk had, and he really let his guard down. I think it is a testament to the chemistry of the actors. Fanstastic

As dumb as they were, they seemed to know the procedures pretty well. Well, aside from getting out the gun AND the ammo for a demonstration. I was amazed it was zeroed in well enough for the security guard to make that shot, tbh.
Not going to mention how the guy aimed the sniper in the middle of the store? I don't care if it wasn't loaded....
Those two are ALWAYS in charge of the gun station at box stores

Enrico Colantoni is always a badass in every TV show. I love that he guest-starred in this show before famous.

He was also Mathesar in Galaxy Quest, which also featured Tony Shaloub
He is the Dad of Veronica Mars.
And if you like medical dramas, he was also in Remedy and in 2020 the pilot of Death's Door (it's not a TV series as it wasn't picked up by a network yet - just the pilot for now, but it's great, if you want to watch it - and they really need more support from the fans)

Love the way it was a civilian Security Guard and not a cop who backed Monk, and who was also shown as a professional well before he came through in the end. To often in TV/movies Security Guards are portrayed as incompetent, untrained and bumbling know nothings. Years ago, when I first got out of the Marines, I worked as armed security for Wells Fargo. Before being issued a firearm and put on post, I had to I had to graduate the 180 hour OPATA (Ohio Peace Officers Training Academy) course and be certified to not only work security but also to carry a firearm. Glad to see a show that didn't portray Security Guards as useless idiots.
