I've watched a few interviews with Bill Hicks with British chat show hosts, and it's so good to see Bill actually enjoying himself with Clive. He doesn't often laugh at other peoples jokes. This made me very happy. Bill Hicks was deeply loved in the UK.

@RØNIN the beauty of it is while he left early he left us much brutal truth with a smile on his face and prescient wisdom we're fortunate enough to consider enjoy and pass along as far and wide as we can reach... And not unlike Carlin and some others presently eluding me they were (in fact are now) a clarion call against the abject stupidity and blatant dishonesty seething and swelling through humanity. Bill Hicks (and others) have gifted us greatly and it's on us to continue and spread enlightenment

@@waylamer1 I used to see Bill Hicks as a role model, but time went by and I realised he had a wrong perspective in life. He talked about how better the world would be without people whom he considered 'scum' (arrogance?) but he himself failed to transform his own troubled emotions and thoughts into something positive. Instead he developed self harming habits like heavy smoking and drinking, which clearly contributed to his early death. He was definitely an extraordinary human being but he has nothing to do with the enlightened person some people think he was.

Clive was kindly setting up all Bill's jokes here.
It was him who saw Hicks in Montreal and came back to England championing him, getting him his break, which ultimately made him. In that sense, Clive Anderson is a bit like Chas Chandler, the original bassist in The Animals, who "discovered" Jimi Hendrix and got him to come to London and then managed him. Humanity, to some degree, should thank Chas Chandler and Clive Anderson for recognising the real deal and going out of their way to help them.

this was a really good interview. Bill loved it which im really happy to see. its a bit staged in a way that clive asked him 'set up' questions that would lead to bill telling jokes from his set, but thats all good. lots of comics do that. i miss bill so much

I get it. And the bits are funny...when I run across videos I haven’t of Hicks (or any other deceased entertainer that I am a fan of) I kind of hope to hear something “new” or another look into them and who they were...I get the canned answers and understand the reasons for them...I was just wanting something I hadn’t heard before.

I agree......Anderson knows Bill's comedy routine and sets then up for Hicks to use his punchlines. I love Bill's work but this is dissapointing. There is no interview or chat or any real insights. Just selling tickets for shows with punchlines.
