Got my Z4 M40i 3 weeks ago. I now realize why I got this car and why it was an emotional purchase. I never rode a motorcycle but I can somewhat relate to the love of riding one now. I drive this with the top down all the time and find myself just going out for joy rides down back roads with no destination. I do not do this to be seen. I do this because going anywhere now is fun. I don't care where I go. Just going is a blast. It's wicked fast and corners wonderfully. Or it's a tame cruiser. I almost want to buy another. Weird.

Same here. I don't go places to pose. I live in Malibu, CA so I hit the canyon roads once a month, I don't daily drive it though it's not that comfortable compared to a suv.
Congrats bro, not a bmw but I just got a brand new Miata RF GT and I do go for drives with the top down without destination as well! I hope to get one of these after my Miata, congratulations bro, this is the car of my dreams🤩

I went into a dealership today and test drove one. I laughed like a little school girl and bought it.Damn what a great car. Oh, and to think I had planned on buying a c7 vet this week..lol
I own one of these in Misano Blue and enjoy it quite a lot. It gets noticed but so far all of the attention has been positive. Regarding the button that opens and closes the top it is completely logical. Push down for top down and Pull up for top up. It may be a roadster but it's level of comfort and technology means that I enjoy driving it most days and I never get out of it feeling worn out or abused. A well done GT car by BMW.
Had a black m40i with red interior and everything blacked out. A friend crashes it at 130mph. Have a white one now with red interior. I agree, so many heads turn especially with the exhaust on a jb4 tune and e85 and dozens of peolle have come up and complimented the car or loved it. It's thr most beautiful looking bmw even better than the new m3/4 which look to overly aggressive as if they're for insecure kids. The Z4 doesn't need to put up a fake aggressive face. It's thr car for a naturally calm and confident person with no pretentiousness

Your driving the wrong build if your not getting head turns and questions in the Z4 - guaranteed head turns with Misano blue, magma red seats, shadow line trim…

I agree that the M40i in Misano Blue and all blacked out shadow line package is very attractive. I’m literally the only person in my city with a G29 Z4 M40i in Misano Blue and I get a lot of compliments wherever I go. Especially at the gas stations. Someone always comes up and asks me about my car.
@@johng81818 nice. I love misano blue too but I'm used to always getting white. For a while I liked my black z4 but you know, a friend crashed it at 130mph and hit 4 cars. I have found I'm also the only one with a z4 m40i. I have seen a few 30is but I don't care for people who buy a car for looks and don't know how to drive for fun (which is why they get the 30i).
The in-line 6 has a LOT of tuning potential

I took one for a test drive this morning(which I bought) and it was hairy with wheel spin and I wasn't flooring it. So much fun to drive. BTW, it is perfect 50/50 weight distribution, what are you talking about?

Top down noise wasn't that bad
would be even less noise with the wind deflector installed, but it was left in the compartment behind the seats :).
You forgot to put in the wind deflector.
Just put our order in for a new 2023 although its not official yet with BMW on release, we will be the first at our dealer.

It's a shame that they make you pick between the manual and the convertible. This was a deal breaker for me, and since I don't have Porsche money, I went w/ the MX-5.

Could you possibly talk faster, it’s 383 hp and 359 tq. Led headlites are not standard they are stacked for the first time, this is a BMW stop comparing to a Toyota, it is the I Drive 7 controller not a dial, there is a complete video on the new muffler system on the Z4, do your homework, do more research on the differential, it is a new electronic limited slip, yet another video you missed, Holy Smokes!

Z4 looks way way better externally and internally. The interior especially is way better not just in looks but in quality too. And yeah having a convertible is awesome. You get a Supra if you’re a teenager that wants to track it and all you care about is performance. The Z4 is for GT and for people who want to enjoy their drive.
Dude, nobody NEEDS a convertible. When I put the top down, it just gets my heart racing a little. This car is a blast. I love mine even more after 3 weeks of ownership.
