- There will 4 questions about friction and reaction units on the ASE A2 test. This video talks about clutch packs, one-way clutches, accumulators, bands, and servos. The key points of inspecting clutch packs and bands , air testing clutch packs, clutch pack clearance, and drum housing inspection are also shown.
I love your video it help me so much as a mechanic.
(Update 2-4-24) Here's some feedback after taking the test: Lots of math questions about choosing a selective snap ring. At least 4 questions, they'll give you a specification, the current snap ring's measurement and the current clutch pack clearance. It'll obviously be out of specification and you'll do some math to select the best answer out of the 4 choices.
Can you give an example of the math
My math never adds up
The selective snap ring feels like one of the hardest question. Especially when you never worked on transmission
Could you explain the math to get the answer for those questions please?
@@davidthompson337 Reading from the motor age book its basically says the clearance you measured compared with the manufactures Specification. You either add to get to spec or subtract to get to spec. Meaning you pick a different thickeness of the snap ring, steel plate or pressure plate.
Anyway you can explain the math for the selective snap ring ??
