I've been watching all of these shows starting with the first one and the level of professionalism and skill put into them puts all the modern computer shows on youtube to shame. No potty mouth software reviews. Remote locations and great monologue scripts. Great guests. I wish the show was still on.

Agree. Now days computer journalism tends to be more about pushing hype. Sadly

How did breaking into the Russian market go for companies like Microsoft and Apple? I just can't imagine Apple doing that well in post Soviet Russia. I mean did they have their own homegrown operating systems or did they just go with Windows? How about Linux, did that take off in the 90's?

14:30 Imagine breed in Belgium costs 1.99-2.99E, in Poland it costs 1.99-29PLN, typical salary for physical varies from 2000-2500PLN minimum wage 1500-1800 while in Belgium is the same. Basic home or apartament 150000-250000 regardless of currency but currency conversion is 4:1 meaning laptop would cost 500$ or 2000PLN after conversion. Same for car - 10,000-20,000PLN is typical price people consider to spend buying quite good car for next couple years same is in Belgium (number 1 in europe new cars sales) but they can purchase new one while we must use imported old, fixed for cheap, by talented people but still old. In technology cant use 10-15 years old computer.. you have to purchase MS Windows 95,98,XP,7 for 300-800PLN hopefully i can use old hardware that cost 300-800PLN total including OEM WIndows neved did, and never will purchase or use newer WIndows Ever. This Microsoft's problem in 90s could be solved easly since product are localized just by price conversion so WIndows would cost 69 or 99PLN instead. They lost bilions in Russia, Ukraine, Poland and all across globe because they didn't care about that. Corruption caused schools and governments to cry and pay never even attempted to fight against.. so Linux, OpenOffice never in fact had chance.
Would anyone purchase iPhone for 5000-7000$ ? Would anyone? Well people still doing that having salary 8000-10000PLN (programers, CEO's of small companies etc) because iPhon cost exactly 5000PLN but not regular people. Bill Gates instead of applying curency conversion, same for music movie industry demanded from us to purchase his product it ended up with huge piracy. Meanwgile our government DESTROYED growing company on SLovakia, Czech republic, Romania - Optimus - - CD Project RED was part of this company (Witcher) witch was procen by CIA that HP Compaq corupted governments to get rid competition. Currently we know how globalism ends up - comunism to be replaced by corporationism, corporate dictatorship. Most likely companies purchased using stocks not money and if money - printed by banks wokring together in SWIFT 10% debt scam. Where if you are bank having 1000$ in cash you can legally open credit for customer for 10000$ and just "print money" out of thin air. Future of global market will end up with global enslavement where companies like Google, Microsoft, Facebook, Apple - duopoles will have more to say than governments. Manipulating public, etc. 80 were great because almost anyone could rule the whole industry. THere was magic in it. It's getting more and more difficult as we progressed. Just as it's was in comunism to even open shop sell bread. Hopefully wave is turning back via CHina.
Microsoft for example invented exFAT right on time for transision from SDHC to SDXC >32GB despite fact it is not much better standard, i personally im not using it stick with NTFS on pendrives, FAT32 supports up to 16TB. But they limited Windows to format max 32GB did because lpatent for long file names expired 2014, NTFS is already open. Since 2006 NTFS-3G mature enought. They could do it because they are in control anyone who is licensing support of SD card, Pays this idiots license fee for nothing. One of examples why monopoles, duopoles and specially law for patenting stuff for mote than 2-5years is absolute disgusting. LZW, MP3 one was second one for decades.. this speaches of people like BIll Gates makes me sick. He HASNT invented MS-DOS it was PC-DOS witch he purchased for 55k and later on invested by Warren Buffet same with Zuck and all that fake inventors..

"The terms average Joe, ordinary Joe, Joe Sixpack, Joe Lunchbucket, Joe Snuffy, Joe Blow, Joe Schmo (for males) and ordinary Jane, average Jane, and plain Jane (for females), are used primarily in North America to refer to a completely average person, typically an average American."
I don't know. Wouldn't "Joe Beerbelly" describe the average male (not only in North America, but much of Europe as well) much better...? 🤣
