I used to play canasta quite a bit when I was married, I stayed in touch with my Ex husbands family for a while then about a year after my mother passed away my mother in law passed away as well. It has been many yrs since & the occasion never arose with my sister in law to play canasta. I would like to remember how to play so that I could show my family how to play, we spent many a night staying up late playing canasta and pots of coffee until the wee hours. I would love to learn again.. do you have any videos of people playing and explaining how to play canasta as you go? I think that it would be helpful for people to be able to watch a couple of Games to fully restore my memory of how to play it. If so I would be extremely grateful ❤

How many decks of cards do you use
2 decks for cards with 2 jokers from each, total 108 cards. It's often good to have extra decks shuffled for next round
Why was 2 included in canasta of 9’s and wildcard?
2s are wild cards just like jokers. Canasta is 7 cards, the rank of 9 with with wild cards (jokers/2s)
Aces with two wildcards? I saw 2 aces with one wildcard and one 2
2s and Jokers are wild cards - I have 2 wild cards with 2 aces, total of 4 cards. Let me know if you need more clarification.

Why didn’t you put down all the 10’s?
Great question. You want to keep cards in your hand, so you can pick the pack, need a natural pair in hand. Picking the pack gives you the greatest way to create Canastas. By melding everything you will not have enough cards in your hand to play. Place down the minimal number of cards to open and hold others to pick the pack. Ugh you didn’t mention freezing the deck
In Modern American Canasta we do no have a rule about "freezing the deck", you are referring to another why to play Canasta. I am teaching Modern American Canasta. What Canasta game do you play?
