Do I receive my University ID card only after the BRP thing?
Yes most universities give ID after receiving BRP.
After quarantine u can get ur BRP and then ur ID
Sometimes BRP delivery can be delayed so u can inform ur university about that and get the ID card

No not really. They say so but NI number should be applied separately and you receive a letter seperately

You can take your passport with you and show them that and get the BrP.
What is the difference between railcard and oyster card ?
Oyster card is for using transport for London services (TFL)
Rail card is used get discounted train tickets across all rail networks in the uk.

Yes if u have the dependent visa everyone will get a brp when u reach uk.
GP is a local clinical doctor who will act as ur point of contact for hospitals

Find the gp near you and register with them. Call them and say new registration. Some will take new registration some wont so just call to the nearby ones and confirm.

If you can get UK Lyca sim in US then u can use that. But if you are buying US lyca number then u will get roaming in the Uk.

Then ur NI number will go to the old address. you can call the NI number people and ask them to change address but they will ask u to make a new application

I’ll be doing my Quarantine in the student accommodation as that is the accommodation I have paid for. Any advice on how to spend the 2weeks quarantine in my hostel accommodation?. Secondly, I’ll be arriving in the UK next weekend and I don’t know if I can get the SIM card on the day of my arrival as I have to quarantine. So can I call the NIN office from my home country requesting for my NIN number before my arrival in the UK? What are the requirements to obtain a NIN number ? Thank you 🙏
NI number can be called from Uk only. You can buy a SIM card in the airport arrival itself. Or you can get a SIM card in nearby shops near university accommodation.
I hope in university accommodation food will be provided bcoz some university do that.
If you don’t have that option then u can buy groceries from tesco, sainsbury, Asda online and get it delivered. But you need a forex card to order the food. They don’t accept cash on delivery.

Immigration they will ask which university you are going and what course you are gonna do .
If you answer them properly without any hesitation then no problem

Your university administration department is responsible for all this. You can visit the administration department to get all the details

You will get a reference number when u apply for NI number. You can use that to work during that period

Hi Sakshi, no you can quarantine in any accomodation. Whether it is university accomodation or ur relative house or ur frnds house it doesn’t matter but u should be alone in your room. For groceries there are numerous online stores. I will post a video next week which will cover all the grocery store and how to order in them and the delivery charges.

Oil & gas engineering field is down all over the world . It will be quite challenging to get a job in the uk after the studies. It is not impossible but still it will be very challenging to get a job.

If your husband is going to Uk in work visa Tier 2 ICT or tier 2 general then u can work for the period he is there in the uk. If his visa is for 3 yrs then try to get a work in the Uk rather than spending in studies. For structural engineers there is scope in the uk you can try for that roles in the uk.
After how long an international student can apply for Uk driving license....ASAP or after 6 months ?
You can drive using your licence or an international driving permit for up to 12 months. Once you have been resident in the UK for 6 months, you can apply for a UK provisional license and take the UK driving test.

You can use your Indian driving license or International driving permit. It depends on your manager who gives u the job

So my question is will post office hold my brp? Even after visa expires... And u said they will hold for 28 days so the brp will come to post office after arrival UK or once i got visa they will send to post office? Please advice

In your application u may have mentioned an arrival date. They will send the brp on that arrival date to the post office.
When u entered the uk they would have updated that in your system.
So it will be with the post office only.

In the main application I have given my tentative date as 30 th March... But now I am worried about brp... If it came will they hold and even if they hold for how many days... Hi Vijay, the post office will have the brp with them. If they don’t have it then enquire with your student immigration and advice Team they will help u out with it.

If you open a bank account with Santander bank then railcard is free for 4 yrs. otherwise it is around 35£ for 1 yrs and £90 for 3 yrs
