Yes music can be compared to the best classical work of any genre. Be it Tolstoy, Braham's, Da Vinci, Hawking, or any other. They were miles beyond any contemporaries. Closest was Genesis.
Admittedly, Yes went in a more mainstream direction with Big Generator and later albums but did it in a great way, still maintaining their cohesiveness and still outperforming their contemporaries.
Best thing on Keys Studio album--which is saying A LOT. Best stuff they had done for years up to that point. (Both Keys albums are great. Great live sets. Superb studio compositions.) Thanks for posting.
The main riff came from the aborted XYZ sessions in the early 80s. White/Squire joined up with Jimmy Page and worked on some material. The project didn't get legs but this song and a couple others in the Yes catalogue wouldn't be here without those sessions.
where , if you do not mind , read that? would have been interesting to have that yyz unfold. im a led zep book and mainly magazine collector since the mighty ZEP came to OK CITY 1977 til about THE CoV-19 era....... and for YES , lost track of shows i attended... and have many lp's of both.....cheers!
@@ripedecomp I have a book called "Jimmy Page: The Anthology", Put together by Jimmy Page. On page 297 of this book, Jimmy writes, "After losing John, I didn't want to touch a guitar. But I needed to get back to work and the first thing I did was get together with Chris Squire and Alan White from Yes. Chris Squire came up with the name XYZ, as the members would be ex-Yes and ex-Zeppelin."
Remember Alan playing the....snare...military attack style, during the Bruford/White drumming in the Union Tour. I thought that was where it was from....Chris wasn't playing.... The song is so awesome. Jon wants to do this with the Band Geeks .....hell yeah.
I love the Keystudio album. I wonder if James Cameron borrowed the curved rocks from Roger Dean's art for that holy area around the Tree of Life in Avatar?
In 2013, Dean filed a legal action in U.S. District Court New York claiming that film director James Cameron had plagiarized 14 of his original images in the making the 2009 blockbuster film Avatar. Dean sought damages of $50M. Although the filmmakers admitted in court to being influenced by the artist's work, Dean's case was dismissed in 2014
Heh, I like them both, but actually prefer Mind Drive. It is really too bad this lineup couldn't have put out at least one more album soon after the two Keys.
No men, you're wrong, Close to the Edge, The Gates of Delirium and Awaken are indisputed masterworks, I don't say that That, That Is and Mind Drive are bad songs (there are the best work of Yes in 90's) but just didn't reached the enough recognition of fans for being considered as such
I consider this the last true epic Yes song. It's a fitting conclusion.
Me too.
Have you ever heard THAT, THAT IS ?

"That, That is" is so epic it makes my mind explode!
Mind Drive and That That Is are both incredibly good pieces of late era Yes music.
BEST BAND EVER!!!❤❤❤

I stopped listening to Yes for a good long while after Big Generator but this rocks!

Unbelievable, that I never heard this before.😇 Awesome song.👌

One of my favorites!
mine too
One of Yes greatest pieces of music.
This song kicks *ss. Huge Yes fan.
Brilliant, this and 'That, That Is'... Love that Jon references ascension
and also references "The Hobbit: There and Back Again" 😉
Una de mis canciones favoritas demasiado poder de energía espiritual
It's very spiritual 🙌

I am very happy that you liked the post. About the best lineup of the band, I agree with you. As for Keystudio's best song, I prefer That, That Is.
@@carlosandreguimaraesdasilv4602 My fav is the quirky Bring Me to the Power.
Mind drive is from : Keys to Ascension 2. To be accurate with this video, The album cover is different. All great songs.
Probably the best song from KTA2 ngl
Just like That, That Is, this song has some ups and some downs.

JON and Band Geeks tour.....Jon has stated he wants to do this.
Excelsa !!!!
This song touch my soul and my mind !
Good stuff!!! Awesome! Agreed, this is the last great epic from that line-up! Not a fan of current line-up!!!
Viva o Rock a melhor música 🤩
La última gran obra maestra de Yes.
Essa é uma grande verdade!
I personally think the 2 suites on magnification are the last but i can see why not everyone likes the orchestra
I'm mind drive NOW🎉thank you🎉om vazara sattova 🅰️ku🎉 from japan❤
Its all in the mindset.

I'm pretty sure Roger Dean is an ET from Pandora.
Roger had the floating mountains before the movie too!

REALLY could stand with a remix/remaster...great music
I agree. I think there are some really great songs on this album but I can't stand how it sounds. Like it is too compressed or something??
Two much noodling and nonsense lyrics for the first 3/4 of this song. From there on, they are on fire.
Not sure why but like TTI better…
Me too...
I agree. T,TI seems to flow much better.
Heh, I like them both, but actually prefer Mind Drive. It is really too bad this lineup couldn't have put out at least one more album soon after the two Keys.
@@philplasma I would like to emphasize the presence of Billy Sherwood as producer. We can consider him an important part of this lineup.
@@philplasmaTales, Going for the One, Tormato have the same lineup
Fantastic track better than Close to the Edge.
I doubt, ANYthing will EVER be better than 'CLOSE TO THE EDGE' BUT this is close!!!!...........Close..............
No

Im Gegensatz zu früheren Werken, klingt es doch irgendwie gestückelt und nicht homogen.
Zzzzzzz
We have heaven ... ... ... Masterwork ...
excellent congratulations, I also made a video about this product if you can help me, thank you very much
