I'm really glad this video took the turn it did. Years ago I was a CNA for a young man who was kept in a dog crate until he was twelve. His bones were permanently deformed. He walked in a crouching posture and physically couldn't stand up straight. He expressed the intelligence of an average dog and couldn't speak a word. But he did have a few signs mastered such as 'eat.' He couldn't be toilet trained and used diapers.
The damage done by this abusive start was permanent and horrible. He was a gentle soul, though. He'd come up beside me, crouch down by my leg and hug me around my knee, begging for his head to be patted. He smiled a lot.
I don't know what happened to his parents, but I really do hope they're in hell right now.

Apparently, as a child, he had been taken out into the forest to be gotten rid of, since his family could not afford to feed him. He escaped and survived in the forest for years until he was captured. He never was able to learn language like a native speaker and suffered other disabilities as a result of his life experiences.

First of all, I am from Bavaria, Germany, so I knew the story from early on. I want to add some insight: Kaspar Hauser always spoke in a dialect which was (and is) not common in Nuremberg, but in the area south of Nuremberg. So he must have lived in an area at least 50km south of Nuremberg for the most time to catch up this dialect.
So the big mystery is: Who the hell was he? I mean, he came out of nowhere and was a "celebrity" soon after. There must have been some people who knew him from his earlier life or am I wrong?
So did he lost his parents which were his only relatives and he went to another city to make up a story so someone would take care of him?
And how did he knew the name of the cavalry officer when he was raised and lived quite far away from Nuremberg (as mentioned above)?
Yes, his story is bullshit. But I would like to hear the true story, which must be very exciting as well.

  • @lloydgretton3079

The story he told was interpreted that he was held in a box and fed on bread and water. He never denied that story as everyone believed it and he got sympathy. Unless he was a dwarf adult, he could not have been a con man nor faked these physical attacks that killed him. These attacks as self inflicted seem unlikely even for a con man. I think most likely he was the heir to the Baden Royalty.
