Hijab is to hide beauty so a women just showing herself it just defies the purpose of a hijab, and there's weird men out there so it's not a wise decision you should stay as hidden as possible and not let your beauty get out to anyone except your mahrams
I’m sorry but.. this doesn’t make any sense. How is looking at yourself in the mirror the same as taking a picture with your phone? You are purely just LOOKING, NOT making a PICTURE. When you take a PICTURE, you are effectively MAKING a PICTURE. For example, you’re with a friend, outside in the woods and a deer appears: The friend LOOKS at the deer and admires it, while you take out your phone to TAKE a PICTURE. This is exactly the same as the mirror thing, the friend is just LOOKING, NOT making a PICTURE, while you are effectively MAKING a PICTURE with your phone. I don’t know why he brought this hadith up, were his Sahaba supposed to dodge reflections? What’s the purpose of this hadith for this issue? Personally, I think it’s very dangerous whatever he’s promoting by saying this. It’s very clearly mentioned in the hadith; DON’T make PICTURES. Please don’t look for loopholes and try to justify this, we are supposed to follow Allah (Subhanahuwa Ta'ala) and his Messenger SallAllahu Alayhi wa Salam as much as we can. May Allah bless you all.
As salamo alaykum wa rahmatullahi, Brother, I’m not saying that you can’t take advice from scholars, on the contrary. I have massive respect for the scholars that put in the time to learn the Qur’an and the Hadith of the Prophet SallAllahu Alayhi wa Salam and teach us. That’s how I got to this video in the first place. But… that doesn’t mean you have to follow them blindly without doing your own research and reasoning. Same with my comment, you can take my advice and do your own research, or you can ignore it. I’m not forcing anyone. I can give an example, there are scholars and/or imaams, who believe that the Prophet SallAllahu Alayhi wa Salam did wudhu on his neck. There is only one weak hadith that can be used as evidence for this, but weak hadiths can’t be used for evidence, hence this is bidah. I usually never comment on videos, so the reason I actually commented is just because I feel obliged, as a fellow Muslim, to advice them against of, what I think is bad advice and to think and research it for themselves. Just because it’s a scholar, doesn’t mean we can just take his advice blindly. Even scholars are human and make mistakes and not even all scholars have the best intention for us. If there was a consensus where most of the scholars agreed upon, then I rest my case. But specifically in this situation, there is a lot of debate, which means it’s not as clear cut. That’s why you have to do your own research and take whatever you think is right in your hart. If this issue really is haraam, the Muslims who think it’s permissible, will spread this haraam among the Ummah of which will cause a chain reaction (people will tell other people and they will tell other people) which results them committing grave sins, which could’ve been avoided. The person who caused this chain reaction, he will get all of the sins of whom he told this haraam and of the one who he told to and so forth. When there is uncertainty about something, it’s better to avoid it until good evidence emerges. Otherwise, you might be risking yourself and others for jahannam. I hope I clarified it better and I hope Insha Allah that Allah Subhanahuwa wa Ta'Ala will bless us all and lead us to the straight path. Ps: I’m not a scholar or anything, I’m just a guy that loves his deen. I’m always willing to learn more about my deen, so if there is something wrong about my text, please let me know 😊
