MDR sang the full beauty of every ragam and real rasikas will get tears when he sings so soulfully! When accompanied by shri Lalgudi GJ his music reaches heaven!
Sir, Very many thanks to you for uploading the voice of Sri.MD Ramanathan and other legends accompanied him. Begada is a difficult raga to explore and present which can be heard at the beginning of MDR's rendition that he is openly admitting that he is searching to develop the raga as he has lost touch and singing it after a long time. The comment came from such a stalwart openly in the concert will really astonish everyone because nowadays we cannot see any one vidwan admitting like this. I laughed very loudly after hearing his comment and it brought me the nostalgic memories of old days hearing his concerts live at various places especially coimbatore and trichy. Great rendition of Begada.
What a "begada" M.D.R at his soulful best . lalgudi 's beautiful interludes , and extraordinary sync ,and follow up ! M.D.R , A true "nadopaasaka " .Most evident in this concert.no doubt he was known as musician of musicians !! ...
What an exquisite performance . Thanks a million to the person uploaded this Begada. I wonder any modern singers can even give 10% of this wonderful concert. It is over. 45 years but it is still has its fragrance.What a genius MDR was .The thani was superb & the violin by TNK was outstanding.
This is just out of the world on that day. He is just different as music lowers refer him as Musician’s Musician. But MDR always refer Shri Tiger ji as the Muscian’s Muscian. To this generation who is enjoying the music of MDR , I believe he be referred as so. Obviously the accompaniment by Lalgudi is evident very evident. The tonal quality of violin is different and picture of young Lalgudi is there. Consider us lucky to be alive to enjoy this.

I have never heard Begeda rag sung in such excellent form, so imaginative and beautiful as Sri MDR sang. He is a genius and a musicians musician

Violin was Lalgudi Jayaraman and not TNK
