I've never played Risk before. I started getting your videos randomly in my recommended and I've been binging them (mainly the ones on classic map without fog cause it's easier for me to understand what's going on since this is all new to me). Downloaded the mobile Risk earlier and played for the first time today. The late game 1v1's seem hard to do on mobile cause it takes so long to do everything. First time I tried, I messed up trying to speed through it and ended up losing
Timing is defo a bit tricky - have to plan it out really well beforehand. I try playing on games with the turn time set to 90s or 120s as makes it easier.

In those horrible openings you really have to build a single territory stack and try to get a set. You're behind by a little bit but should be able to survive if you have a location that isn't too reachable by the other player's big stacks.
But being last in the turn order really is bad since you'll be the last to get your set so the chance of catching back up is pretty slim.
The Risk youtubers will always blame them.

Yes. I've seen Pete, Kylted, Olive, and Fil all down to a single territory and single digit troops (Fil had a single troop in NA, I believe Ontario, in a fixed game) all battle back to a victory. You're never gonna improve if you don't put in the work, and if you're only willing to play if you've got a strategic advantage maybe this isn't the right game.
That bot manipilation was filthy and everyone should emulate such strategy when someone bots out. 🎉

You need to go into your Risk settings and turn off Battle Animations. Then you can go that fast! Super important for 1v1s!

What pill did pete take?
A lot of times you talk about the scumbag bot out and here is my view on it. There's a lot of times in a game I know I've lost with a 0% chance of a comeback. In those situations the other players know my predicament so they focus on other things while keeping me card blocked. So, why would I spend the next 20 minutes skipping until someone finally takes me out when I can be halfway through another game. I've even taking chances of eliminating my troops so my territories only have 1 troop each to still not get taken out. If there was another option other than a bot out or wasting time not getting eliminated I'm all ears. Please explain what a good middle ground would be.
The botting out in that situation makes sense to me. I do it too.
It's the coming back that makes it the 'scumbag bot out strat'

Any advice on how to help survive the first round?
I have now had countless games where i start in a terrible position, and the whole board unanimously decides to ruin my game.
No matter how passive i play and how much i stay out of people's way, i can't seem to fly below the radar
There are a couple of games in the series where I have a fragile open. Most important thing to survive the early game is be in two places and trade if you're worried about getting killed
If Reginald says Australia is the best continent, then it's the best continent. He's the best Risk player of all time

Oh! The singular position that you can't make plays from and is neighbored by a neutral continent making you essentially be isolated from the other players so your +2 is only valuable because it is easy to defend but is only a defensive position.
It's nice to have +2 from four territories but you can get card blocked easily. It might be a good continent in progressive though.

Don’t blame the black player a single bit , I’m botting the fuck out if I start my first turn with 8 troops from the 6th position and it’s fixed, I might stick around make an ally and slam the person next to em as a sacrifice lol 😂
Nah, stay black should have at least stayed around long enough to take revenge on red. Red should have been 6th after their open.
Then you just feed both kills anyway and most likely get 6th, unless someone shows mercy and feels bad for the crazy novice ruinging your game lol 😂
