I asked lord @Punkdagod to come on and share some attacks he thought were very unfair in fighting games. Punk references games across the Street Fighter main line series, highlighting tactics he feels were especially strong.

Idc about DJ but el fuerte was cancer. All of them lagged online and the ones in tournament would either vortex the shit out of you or fish for rsf. Daigo made a video about how sf4 was easily the weirdest SF ever in terms of fundamentals.

@@lucaslennan3356it makes a lot of sense bc for punk the most important skills in street fighter are spacing and whiff punishing. so moves that make that less relevant are the most tilting. Kim's run is a million times weaker than el fuertes and he still hates it. Sway is interesting bc it honestly isn't that crazy strong but you can tell that the concept of getting a free whiff punish tool that can be thrown out at random is offensive
El Fuerte is the most online warrior character ever. He was so weak in offline competitive play but online it's like you couldn't do ANYTHING about him
Capcom was considering backwards DR, but everyone recognizes how cringe that would be, so they just gave it to Deejay exclusively.

I would love to see more videos like this. My own personal takes from an average player would have to be EVERYTHING Batgirl in IJ1 could do, and CF1 Izanami rib cage.
For the strive players, I want yall to imagine if Bridget/ I-No could mix you up while having a shield of FD up that auto gaurded against bursts/ reversals/ mashing, that she could manually dispel for a launch into a full combo at any time. The only drawback is it drains your burst gauge rapidly, but for several seconds she was completely untouchable. You COULD throw her out of it, but you’d have to deal with that on top of the mental stack of her high/ low staircase mixups, continuous pressure, and insane Magneto style movement. She was so frustrating to deal with even Izanami mains didn’t try to defend her.

I'm legit surprised Punk didn't say Jinrai Kick, OD Amnesia or Honda Headbutt. Dee Jay's sway makes sense though because of how hard it counterplays Punk's footsie and neutral centric playstyle.
I think Jinrai is getting solved in terms of defense. Less and less people are caught off guard by me doing medium jinrai, and even less are letting light jinrai rock without Drive Impacting me before I finish. It is dope and powerful but the counter play is coming along
All of those are strong but older games were DEMONIC in comparison
I know Mitsuru 5A was in the other video, but my locals recently had a team tournament where we randomly played old, unpatched, no DLC or game unlocks fighting games on the PS3. When Vanilla P4A got pulled our winning strategy was to tell our player to pick Mitsuru and mash 5A. It worked lol.

I was also a Rachel Pumpkin enjoyer - That thing was amazing. So much fun, absolutely opened up Rachel rushdown. Granted I always complained about Jin and his ice waggle mechanic. I am pretty sure I annoyed the hell out of the BB Rizon chat with all my complaining from a state of such privilege.
Yeah craziest thing about Rachel's pumpkin is activating it is completely animationless, and she can just keep activating it as long as she has wind meter. Cracked move.
I'm surprised Rachel's pumpkin took this long to show up lol. You could pumpkin into jump forward, and just like that you're doing a full screen jump in whilst they're locked down by the damn fruit. I don't think I've ever felt such a drastic change in how a character plays than when they took the pumpkin away.
Also, the wind ability itself probably belongs on the list of overpowered moves. I genuinely think it might be one of the most powerful tools any character has ever had in any fighting game, it's versatility and range of effects is actually difficult to quantify 😅
They kinda gave the pumpkin back with Izanami's bits. She does a similar thing with projectiles, but she has to go into a mode where she can't block to do them. It's debatable how fair this tradeoff is.

I miss vanilla Rachel, besides Pumpkin, j2c cancels is the next biggest thing they took away. Rachel went from a full screen rushdown character to just a zoner after taking away so many things that's cool about her.
13:47 Oh yeah, Impish Gypsophila, aka pumpkin, is such an inconspicuously powerful move. It looks like nothing, but then you realize that once it's out, you can't really play the game anymore until it's gone. Crazy stuff that i wish they put into BBTAG lol, would've fit right at home.
Bonus : 15:46 in BBCT, i'm pretty sure that move is jump cancellable, so double 50/50s. J.2C was CRAZY good.

It baffles me that you're even able to find versions of FighterZ where Kid Buu is even remotely as much of a threat as he used to be, all of his moves are quaint in comparison to the Jiren 2Ls, Beerus 2Ms, SS4 5Ls, GT 214Ss and what have you. I have no idea where you're getting your FighterZ data from but believe me when I say I WISH the moves you were talking about were the biggest thing we had to watch out for.
To this day I still have no idea how cross up Buu- Ball made it through play testing

4:30 DJ Sway is so busted, I don't know why it's not talked about more. Basically at any point if you try to poke him or hit him with anything, he can just throw out a sway and get a full combo, it's Luke's suppressor on steroids and HGH, it's bad enough trying to reach DJ due to his normals. And drive rush into sway is why I want them to totally remove special cancels early off DR, it's like you reacted accordingly and are still getting punished.
Pretty much the only way to punish it is to pre-emptively forward jump or neutral jump, which is kinda dumb. It's like you have to use stupid tactics to fight a stupid move.

Kid buu is really not good anymore because mix isn't as relevant as it used to be, and he doesn't have a neutral skip. Why bother going for a mixup, when you can two touch your opponent' midscreen with an ex move? After that, all you need is level 3 mix and you're golden. Meanwhile, what good tools he does have are overshadowed by things like upward beam that can cancel into supderdash even on whiff, moves that delete/ignore all projectiles and assists, or invincible lariats.
Kid buu is a fundamentally good character, but he didn't receive any of the power creep that the rest of the cast got. Low damage, high execution, no neutral skips, his pressure is only average now and he only offers mix. Which, you honestly don't need that badly since GO1 stopped playing
