- Learn how to test LCD/LED TV power supply boards before buying a replacement. The TV power supply board under test in this video is from a Coby 32" LCD TV. Testing boards from other manufacturers or LED TV's should be very similar. Once the power supply board has been removed from the TV with the power cord still attached, the next step is to turn on the power supply by shorting 2 pins together(Power On) on the power supply board. Coby models use the designation, "PSON/5vSB". Other brands may differ(such as STB5V). Refer to the video for more details, and make sure none of the Electrolytic Capacitors are LEAKING or BULGING. If they are, replace them.

WOW!!! I remember back to the days when I didn't own the proper sized test leads, and used stuff like Nails, Safety Pins, Paper clips and Chip Clips to make my own... One time, I needed an extremely precise set of test probes, so I silver soldered sewing needles to my spare set of probes. I still have (and use) that set today!!!!!
Thanks for watching!
Excellent content. Very well explained. I really wanted to know how to bypass the control board and be able to turn on the power supply through the input connector. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge.
I actually found this video informative. I am into electronics and work with it day after day almost 7 days a week. I am opening to learning new things.

Thanks for the tip about checking backside of the board for voltages. Subscribed!
Excellent job on this view. It helped me troubleshoot a 50 inch TV and change out the board for 35 bucks!

Thank You Sir , I have here a power supply of LCD TV but I dont know how to use the power supply but since I saw your vedio , I try it and it works , Now I have power Supply , 24vdc , 12vdc , 5vdc . I can use this one now for making small watts amplifiers .
As usual many thanks for sharing - wasn't sure about power/on pins and you more than clarified that for me.
Paul Morrison Thanks for watching Paul.
Great work here....not exactly sure what was wrong...but after following your instructions...all is ok now!! Thanks
Could have been a loose connector. :-) Be sure to rate thumbs up, share my channel with others, and check out my video playlists. Thanks!
Your microwave troubleshooting video and this one has inspired me to tackle troubleshooting and possible repair of my 2 year old 60 inch Samsung LED TV. Was working perfectly, then image quality began to deteriorate, then one day got odor of MS (maximum smoke) from rear of set. There seems to be an extremely dim image present. I'd love to return this unit to service. Can use it downstairs. Do my symptoms seem consistent with a possible PS problem?
just great, thanks for your efforts...
Thanks for your video. I can't seem to find a 'SB' or 'STB' pin. The other two pins are labeled 5V and DIM (O/F) not counting the 12V and GND pins. When I touch the black probe to the ground and check the 12V pins they all show 12V. I guess my board is defective.
When I short the PSON with the next pin I test the other voltages. The 5 reads 5 and the 12 volt reads 5V and so does the 24V pin. They all read 5 V? When I take the alligator clip off the PSON and the pin next to it, I can only read 5V on the 5 v pin. The others don't read anything at all. I short the PSON to the SGND is that right using an alligator clip? The 5VSB volt reads 5 volts.
good tutorial...I've been taking power supplies out of old disc players etc. that people throw away I usually connent blubs to them and then measure the voltages.
Bri G. Many of the boards which are faulty, usually only require any bulging capacitors being replaced. A very common problem as a result of many hours of use, and heat.
Thanks For Watching!
What if the PO voltage is reading 2.1, is this an issue with power supply board or the main board not powering on the rest of the power supply board?
Hi there using your method I have checked Apple LED Cinema Display power supply board on all the pins reads close to what it says (only like 0.2 or 0.4 V difference) apart from one pin where it says 24 V and reads 25,2V is that acceptable?(using mid range multimeter)
Than k you sir , now I know how to use a old tv power supply for other purposes .
You're welcome Ruby! Be sure to check out the wide range of videos on my channel, and most importantly share. Thanks

I HAVE SHARP AQUOS LIQUID CRYSTAL LED 46 TV WITH DARK PICTURE. I HAVE BACKLIGHTS AND SOUND AND HAVE IMAGE ON TV DOING FLASHLIGHTS TEST. CAN U TELL ME WHICH PART IS BAD
My backlight leds on an LG 55" TV are not turning on at all & I suspect one of two IC'S, One is the HS01G PHVK pwm controller & the other is a L6599AD RESONANT CONVERTER CONTROLLER. Any idea which one would most likely be the culprit?
btw all capacitors look good, however I changed the two main caps just in case with new Rubycon caps. Once removed the old caps tested good just as I suspected.
Awesome vid, explained very well. Did you connect the other end of the alligator clip to something so you can short the two pins?
I tested the fuse and it read good. I tested the power to main board and I'm only getting 1V so i don't think enough current is getting to main board (no standby). Any video for checking each leg of this circuit. I have no visible damage on top of under, no swollen capacitors.
hai iam jani my problem was philips 32' pfl 5409 model no , set is running good 30 minits running osilation probiem start, set go to stand by and start and go stand by....
Very nice and explicit explanation, thank you for your time.

Hey FYI,
I've been trying to rig up a curb side special Vizio 42" as a bench light. I have the advantage of a working TV and am just trying to get the CCFL inverter working without the main board or LCD driver. This one has a 5 volt standby, 12 volt, and 24 volt rail. The PSU has an on/off pin, PSON, and PDIM pin. The inverter IC is one of the pesky o2 micro chips with an NDA Datasheet (OZ9976).
I can confirm, this power supply needs the PSON and ON/Off pin jumped to 5v. The PDIM pin needs to be set between 2 and 3.6 volts but does not need a PWM input.
However, contrary to your video here. The power supply will not start by jumping out the standby rail. It has to have a substantial load on the output for the main output rails to work. When I disconnect the 3 extra pins from the processor board and jump them out (on/off, PSON, w/a 3v3 regulator output on PDIM) but keep the connection for 5v, 12v, 24v, and ground to the processor, everything works like it should and the backlight comes on and stays on until I disconnect the mains plug.
I am here because I have been looking for ideas on how to rig something as a load. I've tried load resistors all the way down to 270R on the output and that doesn't work. I don't want to go much lower on a 24v rail. I'm about ready to just add an auxiliary supply for the inverter IC or use a small boost circuit from the 5v rail. I thought you might have covered something like this here, but after seeing a discrepancy between what I'm seeing and the video I thought I'd mention it. This TV is probably some rare exception, but I figured it was still worth mentioning that jumping the on/off PSON pins doesn't get power going on this design.
Thanks, -Jake
Hello. I'd ditch the CCFL and use a really bright LED strip light instead.
Got power to all pins. 24 v pins I only have 21v. Tv turns on but screen is black. Amy suggestions?
Another fantastic video. Thank you for sharing. Take care, and keep the cool videos coming.
Thanks. Unfortunately there is one guy who thumbs down every video I post. This scumbag started doing it as revenge, right after I made a comment on another video that was non-electronics in nature. The guy was lying in order to get people to view his video. I have since created another CZcams account just for making comments on non-electronic/mechanical videos. A real shame people like that exist. Thumbs up or thumbs down. I still make money. :-).

Hi! I have 17PW25-3 070610. Tell me please the brige point. maybe to PL805 pin STBY_ON/OFF- "6" & +5VSTBY_2 - "14"pin? Thanks
Nice video!
My Finllux 50F6090 video keeps going off while the audio is still on. You can change the channel and get the audio for the channel but without the video. Looks like it is the power that is being lost. If one turns off the TV the video comes back perfectly but is soon lost again This cycle is then repeated again and again. What could be causing this intermittent black out of video in this set? Help please
Thank you for making this video. Between this information and the troubleshooting flowcharts in the Sanyo Service Manual, I was able to fix my Sanyo FVM4012 TV by replacing the power supply board.
For future reference, my symptoms were:
-RED power LED on whenever AC cord was plugged in
-No backlights, no image, no sound
-3.3V Standby was present on both the Power Board and Main Board
-No 24V present on the Power or Main Boards
-No 58V on Power Board
I don't know which component(s) failed, I just replaced the entire board.
+Enrique Rodriguez
Hi Enrique. Glad my video was able to help you in repairing your TV! Thanks For Watching
Hey. Im getting 3.375 volts of my sony kdl55w-900a. Is that the standby power? Or is that low
This is a an excelent tutorial.
+Fernando Garcia Golding
Thanks Fernando! Please share my channel with others, and check out my other videos as well.
Also how to test the logical board if it's faulty or not?
Very nice.
Can you do another video like this but with CCFL lit LCDs?
Thanks!
I just tore apart my laptop LCD to replace the CCFL in that. The tube is 15" long x 3/32" diameter. EXTREMELY fragile. I also replaced the inverter board. I should have made a video for that. Replacing a CCFL in a laptop LCD screen is not for everyone.
I have back massagers that won't turn on. I have a lot of them but can I mail you a couple of them to you to see if you can find the problem and post it on youtube? I will ship it out free and you can keep them after it's repaired.
Cheers, good info
Thanks again very informative I will check all those. We have a 50 inch
Samsung HP-S503 with a blacked out screen trying to see what is wrong on the
Y-Board hate to loose the TV it has a great picture.
William Ward Could be a faulty capacitor not allowing the inverter to power up and turn on the cold cathode backlight tube. If everything works on the TV, but you can barely see the video image(If at all) on the screen, that is usually caused by a faulty inverter board, or the inverter board is not being power up properly due to a faulty Power Supply Board.
Thanks For Watching!
very informative thank you

I have Lcd after 10 min go of
have you more information
I take it the TV goes completely off. Audio and video. Correct? What you need to do is open up the TV, and position the board so you can do a voltage test just after the tv turns off. You need to have everything connected. All the cables. You need to see if the power is still being supplied to the main board, or all power is off. You may have a bad main board. The main board is what tells the power supply board to fully turn on.
I have a LG 39ln5700 could you check the power supply board and see which two pins to short out to see if I can get the back lights on because it doesn't have a 5v pin
Every board is different. You should see a marking on the board to identify the power on pin.
My MP118FL shows twice the voltage where it indicates. IE where it says 5v shows 10; and 24 shows 48v. Grnd and PSON shows 10v instead of 5v. PS is defective? Please help.
If you're getting 2x the listed voltage, then replace the board or try testing with another meter.
Well explained 100%
Good morning! Thanks for this great video!
I have a samsung TV power supply that gives in B5V --> 5.1V and in B13V --> 8V. What pin must be shorted with the PS_ON pin to give me the full output voltages? Is it pin B5V ? or GND? or another pin? (other pins except B5V and GND are P_DIM, BLU, A5V, Vamp). Do you think is normal to have 8V on pin B13V without shorted PS_ON? Thank you!
Not sure. I would take a 500 ohm, or 1000 ohm resistor and use that as a test jumper to see if the right pins are found. If you don't use one, you may fry the board.
Great video, I have 3.3 stb but it goes down after connect the main board, what can I do? Thanks
Check all capacitors for bulging. If any are found, replace them. Thanks for watching!
Hi mate. Great videos - i've learned a lot from them. I've been testing a power board where pins 1 and 2 are supposed to output 13.2v dc. the meter shows 13v dead. Should I be concerned about the difference in voltage or is this normal? Thanks!
Voltage should be very close to the marking on the board. 13V sounds OK. Your DMM could be slightly off if using a less expensive DMM, or there may be a capacitor with higher than normal ESR. I have another videos showing a very nice and inexpensive ESR tester that you can buy. Be sure to check it out. :-)
which pins should I short. the 1st four pins are; NC , PWM-DIM, ON/OFF, ACD, Then I have some gorunds and 5v and 24 v. the is also a 2nd connector ont the other side of board with simmilar labels they are ERROR, PWM-DIM, ON/OFF (other side of board has it labeled as INV ON), BRI, then a bunch of GND and more 24 . which do I short for testing voltages???
Corey Erb It is possible the ON/OFF pin needs to be grounded to turn on the board. I am not familiar with this board. What make/model?
electronicsNmore 47LG90
Hi! Great video, I looked at the output and all of my pins seems to be showing the right voltage but I did not short the power switch pin at all, is this an issue with the board? (I am working on a smart tv)
For all power outputs to be active, it must be powered on. Thanks for watching!
Do you have a video on testing a 2956C TV Power supply? It's quite different than the one in this video. Thanks
Tony M Hi Tony. I do not have a video for a 2956C SMPS. The usual parts to fail are the capacitors, transistors, or mosfets.
Thank you for making this video. Can I check the pins of the power board while it’s plugged into the wall?....I’m not sure I understand the purpose of the alligator clips.
The board needs to be removed. The alligator clips were used to supply 120VAC power to the power supply board from the AC power cord.
electronicsNmore ahh ok. So I left mine plugged to the wall outlet and I checked it...the ground to the first three which on the board is labeled as 12.3V however the read out is 0.8V. :-/ just struggling because before I replaced a capacitor on the main board the read out was 2.3V
Hi good video try making a video on CRT television power supply fault's thank you.
They're outdated. Everything today is LCD or LED. Thanks for watching!
This is a great tutorial. Might I ask what it could mean if I have 10.5v going through my pin labled "5V1" and the pin "5Vsb" while I'm getting no power reading through my "PON" pin and my "PWM" pin?
+Arbitrarymind16
Hello. Are you positive you are testing from the pins to ground? 5v1 should be around 5.1 VDC, not double. Every board varies. Make sure the correct pins are shorted together. You may have a faulty power board. Make sure you have no bulging electrolytic capacitors.
+electronicsNmore I am going to have to guess its faulty. these readings were before I shorted anything. thank you very much for the quick reply
Hey Doug, Do you have any info on testing the Samsung Plasma TV PSB? I have found the "PS-On" pin (4.2v)but directly across from it is the "STBY" pin (5.2v) so I'm unsure if we're on the right track. When you said "short the PS-On pin" did you really mean to short it to GND or not? Thanks
The safe way would be use a 1K resistor between the suspected pins. :-)
old viedo but....when I shotcut my PSON and 5.3V my power supply just clicks rappedly non stop, what do you think the problem is here? when every thing is connected tv tv starts up then turns off and on again all the time
Hard to tell since I don't have it in my hands.
Thanks for your guidance. I have 26LG30R LCd. I can see P/On on power board but no STB 5v, could you please guide me here, board is OPVP 0059.
They vary a lot. Try jumping suspected pins using a 1/4 or 1/2W 1K resistor. The resistor will keep you from destroying things while you search. Try a 5v pin, or a GND with the PSON.
I have no problem Identifying the power pin I just don't know what to bridge it with to power on the board I have (2) 3v pins along with some 12v and 24v and gnd's, that's why I told you the TV in case you could check the board and see which other pin I should connect the power pin to
First probe the power on pin using your DMM set to DC volts. Test from the power on pin to GND. If no voltage shows up, then try bridging the power on pin with the 3V.
I have a Sansui sled-43fhd TP.V56PB'801. The standby light is on and red, when I switch on the tv, the standby light changes to blue to show that the tv is booting but it will flick the sansui screen and goes off. Any idea of what the problem is?
More than likely the power supply board has one or more faulty electrolytic capacitors. Either replace the capacitors or buy a new power supply board.
I have a visio tv and I was testing the powerboard while connected to the mainboard. The 12v connectors are at 11.3 volts. The TV comes on and fires up the backlights, but there is nothing displayed. And none of the other buttons do anything. Would this shortage of voltage cause something like that? Or would this be a mainboard issue? It's a vizio m420vt
The voltage should be very close to the listed voltage. Check all connections, and inspect all electrolytic capacitors. Check the capacitance and esr after discharging them. If everything checks out, then I'd say a faulty main board.
I was hoping that you could tell me what turns the pson on. Or even what could cause pson to fail.
tom hoag If none of the pins on the power supply board have any power, then the board is like bad. Replace it. Unfortunately I am only able to answer a viewer's question and one follow up reply. I have almost 300 videos with people asking questions, so my time is limited. Most channels do not reply at all.
Thank You!
I have an HP 32" lcd, after I clic on power on remote 20 times tv turns on, also this TV have no sound, but shows volume is ok
Make sure all power outputs are working, and you don't see any bulging electrolytic capacitors. Thanks for watching!
this video is very good and has really help me alot
Great to hear AJ! Be sure to share my channel with others, and rate thumbs up. Thanks
you are welcome
Awesome video. My PS-ON terminal has no voltage after a lightning strike at my house. No visible damage on the board. A new board is only $25. Do you think replacing it will fix the tv?
Thanks in advance!
If shorting the PS-ON with the correct terminal does not cause all the pins to power up, then I would get a new board.
I want to check the back light inverter do i need a special equipment. and where can i buy it. Thanks
Luis Cuevas Borrero I would inspect the capacitors and make sure none are bulging. If any are, then replace them. Testing the inverter board is not a simple process.
Do you have videos how to test all the components that you mentioned in the last part? Thanks
Which component?
All that you mentioned
i have a sharp aquos 40" and on my bd i have the ps on but i get nothing on the bd when the the ps on and ground are jumpered. if i put the neg lead on the neg at the bridge and then red to any points on the pd connector i get 5.8 volts. i have 168 vdc at the bridge. so i can send you pictures of the power bd and maybe you can direct me what pins i have to short to turn on the power bd? i get nothing if i probe from any pd connector pin and the screw that holds the cb to the frame. and those are connected all the way around the power bd, and to the sgnd pins in this pd connector.
168V is fine on the HOT side of the board. You're either not turning the board on, or the board is faulty. Pins used can vary. Check online for more info about your board or TV. Thanks for watching
hi i'm troubleshooting a toshiba lcd tv 32HV10E when i plug the power cord green light power indicator appears but with no picture and sounds when i press the power button nothings happens i check the 5 volts standbye it is present and also the 13 volts can you help me with my tv thanks
+Tomas Sto, Tomas
Hi Tomas. If you followed this video, and all the power outputs work, then you can rule out a faulty power supply board. The main board could be the problem, or the inverter board. Since you have no video or audio, I would lean towards a faulty main board.
Thanks For Watching!
I have a 50" Emerson and it has power but as soon as I cut it on it say Emerson then says ch1 on top in middle of screen it says press and hold the on button for three seconds , but as soon as that screen comes on it cuts off!
Now I searched this and it was abt 50/50 more people said it was the main and others said the power supply. I was told to try switching the main first, but tv still does the same thing!! So I'm getting a voltage meter today to test the power supply. Also the guy I bought the main from said he would swap me boards.( bought on eBay) but b4 I send it back I want to make sure it's the power board. What do you think is the problem, and what would you do? I'm not a tech guy by no means but I am good with my hands and fixing things!!
Sounds like a faulty power supply board.
Hi I have the same 32": and the volume is too loud. It will start to have sound a level 3 and its too loud. Levels 1 and 2 have no sound. I can I fix thx
Sounds like a faulty board(main board).
How about toshiba 42" whats the sign that you hook up together
The markings should be similar. You can also take a close up photo of the pins/board, post the image online and post the link to the image here so I can see it.
That's was I thought thanks
ground is currenting AC VOLT.So,which one i need to check on Panasonic th l30c3t 99w

Im trying to turn on a little power supply board for a 250 w led light it has sw which is for turning it on right so i connect sw to a - or + to turn ut on ? Thank you good video
Manny Suarez If there's voltage on the SW pin, then it probably needs to be connected to Neg/GND. I have no idea how your board is set up, so I'm only guessing.
electronicsNmore oh thanks ! yeah i did it was from a projector that that had the audio board fail so i was trying mod a disney lamp lol what ever other than 2 12v 2 ground and the sw didnt work thanks again buddy

hi I have a tv power supply that I'd like to turn on. I found a bunch of 13 volt pins as well as ground and AC detect, ps-on, bu5v, and ground on the last pin. which ones do i short to get the power supply to turn on? my guess is ps-on and either bu5v or ground but I'm not sure. I've done this before but this varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. this model is a sharp 32 inch LCD tv that I got from the dump because it had a cracked panel. I'm going to make a shop light out of this TV.
I would guess bu5V and PS-ON. Use a 1K resistor between the pins in case you have the wrong set.
electronicsNmore
I actually figured that out and the relay clicked. Now to get the backlight to come on. It's obviously a separate part. Just need to find the right wires. the last TV I hacked it said things like PS-on and BL-on I hooked those to the sb5V and both backlight and main power turned on.
does all diodes should test around 0.4v to 0.7v? i mean even zener and schottky diodes?
Schottky diodes can test very low, around .1v. Thanks for watching!
To check components in board with power supply or without power supply power on or off say please
Test with board removed.
What do you have your micrometer set on? I'm trying to figure out how to use my multimeter
DC volts.
where can I find schematic of a board that doesn't have the pin out printed on the board?
You need to search online for your TV make/model.
I have Sony brevia television, when I power on the TV it will show picture for like 5 minutes and the power will go off and continue blinking off and on. please what is the course of the problem?
Check all the electrolytic capacitors.
salut i appreciate your video , and i have questions to verified if my powerboard is defect . my tv is soyo sytpt-4227ab LCD tv 2007 . i put togheter the po/on and the 5vs , and after i check the12V and the 24volt and nothing . on the 5 volt vs i have 4 volt and the green light is on , if i plug it on the wall . but no sound no picture and command not work . wat do you think can you shure is the powerboard . thanks for your help jc
julia kneebone Sounds like you need to replace the power supply board.
hi i live in france now . and is not easy to find the board . i need a video show to verified the voltages on powerboard . thanks for your help jc
I replaced a swollen capacitor on a 42" Dynex DX-L42-10A. Now, I keep blowing fuses. What could be causing the fuses to blow?
If you replaced it with the same value/rated capacitor, in the correct orientation, then it shouldn't blow the fuse. Clearly you did something in the process of replacing the capacitor.
@@electronicsNmore Wondering if maybe I used too much solder and somehow shorted them out. Waiting on some solder wick to come in.
this video is awesome
Great to hear. Be sure to rate thumbs up and share my channel with others. Thanks!
No 3.2v & 5v, so do you think is the regulator is bad cause all the caps are good
If you plug in the board (120VAC) and you do not have at least one pin showing voltage, then you might as well replace the board.
I like your videos, however this one hasn't helped me.
I grabbed about a 42 inch flat screen from the dumpster someone through our with broken screen. It powered up and screen lit up even though badly broken. I'm trying to repurpose the power board. I'm converting a 18v cordless drill into a micro lathe/mill. So I need the power board to power 18 to 24v D.C. and I thought this would work. I plug it in but don't see anything marked pson or anything close and cannot get anything on any pins other than. 004v .
I know it was working before I tore it apart. If you have use for balance of these board's we could work out trade
Clearly you didn't turn on the power supply board. Just like I stated in the video, look for the 5V pin.
My 2015 sony TV turns on, shows the startup screen, but the left side goes dark followed by the tv turning off when it is done loading.
One side going dark? Sounds like a faulty power supply or faulty board for the backlight.
electronicsNmore I will try replacing the power supply, cause I can get one for 60 bucks. If its a problem with the LED's then I am out of luck cause I can't even find LED's.
My tv turns on with clear picture & sound. Seconds later the screen turns black with sound. Should I replace power board or main board? Thanks

Sounds like a faulty electrolytic capacitor on the power board, or a faulty inverter board. Without any test results, I cannot say what it is.
Am trying ("trying" being the operative word) to repair a Vizio 42" television. I've connected the +5VSB and PSON pins with wire and put power to the board, but I can't find voltage on any of the pins! Am I doing something terribly wrong, or is this power board just that borked?
Make sure you have 5V before shorting the pins.
electronicsNmore How would you power it? I connected the three power pins to the TV's power jack (as it had been connected before I removed the board) and the jack to a wall outlet. Are there any alternative power sources?
Also, I noticed a burned out resistor on the board after looking closely. Could that be the problem or a symptom of a bigger issue?

Finlux 50ins went pop sound but no picture just lines help please?
You should be able to locate a faulty component(burned/damaged) on the power supply board or main board. Maybe an electrolytic capacitor.
Hi.. One Question.. My Power Supply indicate 11.8 Volts in 12 Volts pins and 32.3 in 33 volts pin, all others are OK (5V,3.3V,24V).. This voltages are OK? is in a safe range or must be a little greater than mark the pins? I ask because the image in my TV have some noises and i don´t know if this is the problem or is the video or T con targets..Thanks
LookingMercury3D Sounds pretty good to me. As long as the voltage is fairly close, you should be fine. Check all the capacitors for swelling. If any are bulging, replace them.

Yes, i repair the power supply, it was dead, the power Mosfet was in short, change too all bad capacitors but i can get up that voltages, i was thinking in add another Cap in parallel of minor Farads to see if it Up at less 12.1 volts, i need to know if that is the problem with the noise.. Thanks Men.. Thumbs Up
The noise could be coming from another board. Also check for capacitors that may be shorted. I have seen that in the past, and some were not even bulging.
electronicsNmore The Noise is in the TV Image, is not a Noise Sound in the Board, i believe that the 12 volts IC's from the video Card need the all 12 volts to work properly, may be i'm wrong, thats why i need Up the voltage at least 12.1 to check it.. Thanls again
Does not sound like a power problem. I suggest you carefully check the video board. That is all I can suggest.
Just figured out how to measure for the 5 v and I do have 5 v and all of the other voltages when I short out the PS on pins. Now what.
tom hoag You ruled out the power supply board as the problem, which was the purpose of this video. If you hear audio, but see no video, then the inverter board is likely faulty.
What is the tolerance for these volatages ? I have got 12,3V on 13V pins. Is that ok?Tested with TV switched on. The problem is milky screen.
marcinbjl Voltages should be very close to what is written on the board. Sounds like the inverter board may be faulty, or a bad backlight. Make sure every capacitor on the power board and inverter board is not bulging. If any are, replace them.
Ok thanks
very good
Glad you enjoyed the video! I have a lot of excellent videos on my channel that cover many different subjects, so be sure to check out my extensive video playlists for other videos of interest to you, rate thumbs up, and share my channel with others. Thank You
Aren't you supposed to use a resistor to short pson? Someone told me a straight short isn't a good idea? Now I'm confused lol

Never had any problem not using a resistor.
am looking for a coby 32" power board Tftv 3217
Check Ebay. Thanks for watching!
