- The Chicago Bears wrapped up Week 1 of OTA's with a BANG from huge day from the defense.
The big focus was on top rookie Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze, but the defense stole the show today as they made it very difficult for the offense to move the ball.
Caleb Williams did a good job connecting with multiple targets such as DJ Moore, Cole Kmet, and Gerald Everett. He did link with Rome Odunze as well, but not as impacted as the young veterans.
The Chicago Bears defense was led by Shane Waldrons, who knows this team has a lot of learning curves in understanding the Chicago Bears playbook, but considering this is OTAs, all is good at the moment and the team isn't worried about progression.
The defense, led by Jaylon Johnson, looked great today. The Chicago Bears defense goal this off-season is to make things difficult for Caleb Williams. Tyrqiue Stevenson, Jaylon Johnson, Jaquan Brisker, and Kyler Gordan all had pass break ups today that made Williams have to work for yards.

NATE DAVIS hasn't earned the right to skip ANY reps. Period. We spent a lot on that dude and he played WELL below the level expected of him last year. Wright, I'd like to believe he has a valid reason for missing. Sweat?! He gets a pass because he's got the production.

He missed 4 games being injured...and he missed the otas last year.
I can't wait to see our defense in action this year. I still think we need another edge rusher, but in Poles I trust!

Every year we hear how elite everyone looks during OTAs and TC. The Bears will not have a top 5 defense unless they trade for another legitimate pass rusher to pair with Sweat. If they don't then they will hoover around where the defense was year around the 12th or 13th. The Bears really should trade for Hendrickson.
They didn't have an elite guy across from Sweat last year and they were the #1 defense in multiple categories in the 2nd half. I'm not worried :)

I’m excited about Caleb. But I’m more excited about Rome because we drafted him in the first and our last first round pick for WR with Kevin White and that was a disaster. 🐻 ⬇️

Because ForGetsy is likely the only reason he's on an active roster. If his arm strength isn't improved, he likely will be out of football after this season. If Bagent can start in the NFL, why waste high draft picks on a QB? Hey, but dream on.

Pickens no awareness, runs right past ball carriers.
Walker & Billings are just guys, who are easily contained.
Booker is a project, if they couldn't get Dexter who lines up right over the ball to move when it does, don't expect them to develop Booker.
We only lost Justin Jones but everyone really improved in the 2nd half of the year
