About raising livestock. You can't have a healthy farm without them. You don't have to eat them, you can compost the remains when they pass. So you can eat chicken eggs, wear sheep wool, drink goat/cow milk. In their role in the push-and-pull between animals and plants, they are a necessary part in maintaining soil health.
Livestock make 2 3rds of all agricultural lands productive as land that can support livestock often cannot be farmed because of environmental factors like being extremely rocky or hilly along with poor soil or other factors that remove the possibility to farm that land and along with producing meat and other products they also produce half of the world’s fertilizer in the form of manure.
The removal of livestock wouldn’t account for much pollution wise as the amount of methane produced globally by livestock accounts for 2% of all emissions. If you look further into the actual science of climate changes humanity has not and never will effect the actual temperature of the plan as the cycle is completely natural in and of itself. Carbon dioxide levels rise and fall with global temperatures not the other way around as temperatures effect the ability of water to store carbon dioxide and the levels of carbon dioxide were steadily falling over billions of years and in around 25 million years would have reached levels where plants would no longer be able to exist at all without human carbon emissions, that’s not to say pollution is good for the environment but carbon dioxide isn’t a pollutant
What’s also kind of hilarious is that 90-95% of the entire planet’s pollutants come from china and India along with other developing countries rather than the USA Europe or Russia
An incredibly charming game with a nice take on the "dungeon/store management sim" genre
Wander, you shall give in to Shell's desire for a let's play! This is just too cute!
About Jellies and Jams. You can make your own and use _much_ less sugar than the recipes say you should. I was on a make-your-own jam binge for a while to top my oatmeal. You don't have to make a huge batch and can it. You can just boil up a week's worth of whatever berries you want. I also left out the pectin (what makes jam jiggly) which means you then have a thick chunky syrup. Great for topping oatmeal, pancakes, or spreading on sandwiches.
Yeah we also have roosters and chickens as a pet (we never butcher chickens of our own and nobody will eat em if you did) I do agree that they are Modern versions of Raptors and surprisingly kinda smart and they also have personalities.
What a nice game. Beware, in latter levels, some noble people will want you to serve them... Awesome video. Can't wait for more. It is always pleasant to hear you two talking. Cheers from Portugal!
Oh lawd Recettear, Capatalism Ho! was such a great game. I loved it so much.
Strawberry jelly or bust, none of that grape jelly business in my PB&J Chelle.
I like this video format! It's fun to hear from both Mr. and Mrs. Wabbo. Homemade blackberry jam is the best.
That's a great description for a weapon. "Nice and slicey."
Like taken out of an Forged in Fire episode.
15:16 the innuendo is right there and i love that they made it less obvious 😂😂😂
I love that this devolved into a sustainable living discussion
Fun fact: the main problem with emissions related to the cattle industry is not that people eat the meat but that there is so much waste in the processing.
RIP Brutus the Ruthless
The customers' time their are willing to wait varies, some will wait through two people eating while others leave before one person finish eating and a table opens.
20 minutes in and this game feels like a food version of moonlighter. And i love moonlighter. Might have to pick this one up too. My wife and daughter might like it too.
9:12 "Names like lamb chop" was Shari Lewis lying to me...?
oh, you are Cruel!
You should play more of this on stream so Chelle can soothe her craving for let's play content.
On the topic of jams, jellies, and preserves, my absolute favorite is salted cantaloupe jam. I thought it was really gross the first time I tried it, but it kept piquing my interest, and I kept trying it, and now it's my favorite one!
10:30 The peppers you are talking about (Capsicum) are naturally hot. They were bred to be bigger and less hot, that would the bell pepper then. The reason why the pepper is naturally hot is the following: They pepper plants didn't like their fruit and the seeds inside being crushed by chewing mammalian teeth - the seeds wouldn't work afterwards. So they made it so that mammals wouldn't eat the fruits. The pepper fruit and seeds are actually aimed towards birds. Birds are immune to capsaicin, which is the hot stuff. Birds do swallow the seeds whole and later, far away from the original pepper plant, it would come out of the rear end of the bird and still be a whole, functioning seed ready to make a new pepper plant. That's their strategy to spread. So peppers evolved their hotness because mammals were assholes to them, I guess. Joke's on them though, because some humans are sick bastards and grew to love hot peppers.
I like the first boss fight, it's literally a Big Black COC
Shell! Don't body-shame the cows. Cows are people too, yknow >:(
This is great
My favorite jam/jellies are strawberry, lychee jelly(rare but not super rare), and maple bacon jam :)
As a non American, I've tried peanut butter and even though I love roasted peanuts with or without salt, I cannot stand peanut butter.
My favorites of bought jam, marmalade or jello is Currants, orange and raspberry, but farmer's market stuff is usually better.
But most of these can't hold a candle to home made versions, especially cloudberry jam.
That's the jelly gold of foodstuffs, when it's done right!
I love Strawberry Jelly!
Favorite jam for PB&J. Onion jam.
The animation on that weapon swing looks like it feels gooood.
About the bags story; I haven't purchased a bag in like ever. I have always got my backpack with me when I go to the store.
There were some grumpy people when they forced stores to get rid of the disposable bags or ask for an €0,05 for it (most stores just got rid of it)
And now they only have the big, still plastic, durable bags which you can buy for €0,25 or is it €0,50 now? and some people still use it as a disposable bag.
I mean how difficult is it to take a bag, or crate with you when you go shopping?
When I lived with my dad and go shopping with him he always had 2 foldable crates with him in his car.
One for pliable things, one for solid things. done.
These are older games, such as the Atelier games that were mentioned (especially the older ones), Mana Khemia series is good, has a Alchemy School feel to em,.
mint jelly with peanut butter is great and goes well on pancakes
I always find the thought of metal straws and reusable bags kind of baffling. Not baffling to use, but baffling how small it makes me feel. Like we can make positive steps as consumers, but what is a plastic straw compared to the plastic container your boba comes in? What is one paper grocery bag compared to the mountain of plastic food packaging? It's really depressing tbh, companies are NOT going to change their carbon footprint and environmental strain unless they are forced to by the government or consumers. As a consumer and citizen, how can we even put that kind of pressure on companies or government without a collective effort, and how do we do that when most people just don't care? Ugh. Silver lining I guess is that people are starting to care, a little at least - hopefully the trend continues, and fast.
My favorite jam I've had lately is a fairly basic apple jam. Though, my favorite overall is orange marmalade.
As someone who loved Recettear veeery much this game speaks to me on several levels. But for me it seems "everything" is a little bit too long. The dungeons, the restaurant phase and so on. Also the inventory seems a little bit too small. But I'm pretty sure I'll check this game out, so thanks for the recommendation. Furthermore: You guys are great hosts when it comes to presenting a video, love to listen to you. :)
On the topic of eating cows and such. They taste good, what am I supposed to do?
Favorite "Jam" for toast is apple butter
Ed Currie made Pepper X, and quite a few of the previously hottest peppers. Pepper X is and his other peppers are in some of the hot ones sauces! The peppers are pretty tasty too as well as being excruciatingly hot!😂
Grape jam! But can't be too sweet
I love cat girls.
Based
12:30 Strawberry
The only jam that I’ve ever had is ground cherry jam made by my grandpa. It taste amazing, but it does not go with peanut butter.
11:00 "the plant was stolen" yeaaaaah those IP laws even existing are the issue, not that plants grow :'D
you know rice noodle was exist and have same absorption as rice, but i forgot the name hehe
12:35 Honey.
I really wish this game have a npc all cutie voices
I'm a fan of grape jams/jelly
i love this! more plz!
I think maybe that was a Yak
2:35 not the swinub 😢
Looks a lot like Dofus.
Cute
Amen to the busty women part.
Raspberry jam
Yo, I have no idea what yall are talkin' about with grape jelly and hotdogs. 🤣
Blackberry jam + crunchy peanut butter is the best.
Guava jelly is good, if you can find it. Not really for PB&J, but on toast.
If jelly is too sweet, try apple butter + peanut butter.
Ah yes, you guys were not expecting rightfully paying off a just dept but instead usury. While that would have been more interesting I think you guys are forgetting just how hard this game is leaning into the cutesyness. Do really want o send the cute cat girl to the debtors prison?
Is this game is auto saving ? Cause I don’t find any save option or location .
6:25 chickens are great pets
we've had at least 5 over the years and they've all been very friendly
(sadly the last two passed away recent ish :( but they had happy and long lives)
maybe the 'evil' ones are because they haven't been interacted with enough?
7:44 yeah that'd be the problem
no animal is going to be friendly if it gets kicked when it misbehaves :(
:( :( horrific story horrific people
farm people are wild :(
It was the first and last time it got kicked to my knowledge. The little jerk couldn't even be around the hens because he would kill them, so it was a miracle he survived for so long.
peppers do want to be picked, but just not by mammals
birds can't sense the spice however
and yeah i think it's obvious how your seeds being spread by birds is beneficial
Iberico pork.
This remind anyone else of Recettear?
Are you serious? In such a game that seems like it's made for children... the first boss is a big, black c....hicken?! 0.0
non-vegan flour lmao
I hate games like this. Why are some animals human like, and then you go out and hunt animals that are just animals…you said there were cow people and then hunted some sort of bison style animal. That doesn’t make sense.
