I carry 3 PA suits on me and when I was killed by a trap camp at Whitespring Station I just kept placing PA suits in the doorway so nobody could enter it. The owner uselessly fired his guns at me from the station roof for 10 minutes then deactivated the camp and I popped my Survival Tent up in its place so he couldn't activate it again.
Love how at the end, just for a tiny fraction of a second, you can see him gesturing to be saved. Pity he just removed his camp, but I appreciate what you did.
You know what I like to do on trap camps at the golf course? Kite the scorchbeast that spawns south of the Whitespring, then run in circles around it until the bat breaks everything.
Equip "Light Footed" in the Agility category and sneak into their vending. Floor traps won't trigger as long as you're sneaking. They're usually selling crap anyway but you have the satisfaction of getting past their traps... Sometimes, I'll buy one round of ammo as an extra insult.
You obviously don’t know how these traps work. They aren’t a triggered trap. The camp owner manually triggers the trap while you are in there. They just go invisible.
I do that too! And to these people telling you it doesn’t work - it does. It won’t help you against a flamethrower or radiation trap but it prevents spike boards from hitting you. By using light footed and clever PA placement, you can get past any of these dumbass trap camps that these little stains make.

You can't destroy player camps, unless they engage in PVP. I don't understand why people get so butthurt about a lore friendly mechanic that's in the game.. I've never built a trap camp, and still don't know how, but I actually like them being in the game. Makes the game alot less boring. There was a time in the early life cycle of the game where you could destroy camps whenever, there was even a perk card for doing more damage to camp objects, trap camps were much more prevalent and so was griefing and bethesda had to find ways to put a stop to it which is why you can't do that anymore.@@cosmicbilly

I'm a new player. I only ever played cozy games but my husband wanted me to play with him and lured me in with "You can build and design your own house!" I have enjoyed going around to other camps to see their builds and try to buy something to show my appreciation. I have only had one guy vanish his camp while I was shopping and then shoot me. I just stood there and looked at him. I was in complete shock. Like, I'm trying to give you caps, my dude. WTF? This is the first I have heard of traps and now, I'm not going to go in anyone's camp. This sucks.
Don't avoid camps because of assholes, I run a shop myself and have never once fucked with a player, because..im trying to make money haha, some of us just wanna make caps, yo.
My wife was not only hit by their traps, but they began to grief her as well. Another player got her to oarty up and watch as she, the player, scorched earth the trap/griefer's camp with a nuke. They still play together sometimes. LOL!
Every time I go visit camps with vendors, I always stash my junk. I also always have light footed in my perk build. One time I ended up finding a trap camp and the owner got extremely abusive with his language at me cuz I didn’t die to his trap due to crouching. He also was selling rare plans for ten caps each as I believe was enticing bait to unsuspecting players. I got all I could before the camp vanished with said salty trapper logging out of the server.
I ran into a trap camp, at first I thought it was just a glitch or something but when I went back to get my stuff, me and another player both died. The owner claimed it was "lore freindly so was okay to have traps to kill non pvp players. I remember where the camp was and what it looks like, so I keep a lookout for it every time I play now. In that time I have found some interesting weapons, so I sincerely hope a two shot multi launch fat man will be very effective in knocking down trap camps, because I am just waiting to try her out.
It is lore friendly and TBH it doesnt matter much as it is a intended mechanic in the game, regardless some players not liking it. I also got caught in different trap camps and you can learn a lot by carefully examining how they are designed. There is more to it than the simple punji board stacks (which is low effort). As high lvl player I got bored with the repetitive dailies and events and that brought me towards building more complex camps which also use glitches and sometimes traps. The best traps are automatic and activated by approaching players. I do not care for players scrap/materials and place stash/scrap boxes for them to store their stuff. For me it is just interesting to study the spectrum of player reactions when they try to navigate the camps.
@@lewisner that is how it is supposed to work. Unfortunately the feature is very buggy. It often reverts the status of blocked players back to being not blocked and does not remember the blocked player after logout and re-login. There is also no visible blocklist, so you basically have to write the names down on paper, hope that the players do not change their account name and recheck your whole list regularly.
@@Square-0neOn Playstation 5 you block the user and it becomes impossible for you to see them again, I did a test and even if the person has friends you are unavailable in the game session.
@@JoaoAlvez87 thats good to know and mirrors the functionality on Xbox. The consoles also seem to have a system wide feature to block users that is independent from the games. On PC the feature is very buggy though and often forgets/reverts the blocklist.
Ive found a couple of trap camps that ive used the PA frame to block. Pisses then off sooooooo much. A couple i have left alone, because they were REALLY well made, or just plain silly. I still rememeber being catapulted from the monorail elevator area all the way into watoga....
There isn't much PvP in this game. If you claim a workshop that's PvP. If you visit someone else's camp that can trigger traps. Another kind of PvP. To destroy another person's camp (without a nuke) you need to hit the other player and that other player has to hit you back. Once both players have accepted combat you can destroy their camp. Bethesda created a real weird PvP/PvE system IMO.

In buried with honor there is least 3 shovels in the graveyard, and one of those spawn when you click to 'fill the grave' behind the tree in front of the grave. You leave the shovel cause you just don't need it. Put things in a world container however they will be available for people later.

Lame when players do trap camps. I always watch for vendor machines/registers in enclosed rooms. If it looks suspicious like that I move on. I also try when possible to stash my scrap items before going to other players' camps.
Another bit of revenge is if you die, go get a snack or something and leave your body there. If anyone is even remotely aware that trap camps exist and they see a body next to the vendor in an enclosed room, its a dead give away to keep moving. Generally this method will make the trap camper leave the server as they typically don't bother setting up more than one.

Designing good trap camps (that is: not using stacked punji boards - thats too simple) is an art with the incedibly limited camp building mode. The game is a post apocalyptic rpg, that means if you meet another player (me) you can not assume the other person is friendly. You might encounter a BOS soldier that thinks mutants are freaks, or a raider that wants your scrap and your body for barbecue. Reclamation day has failed and there is a hint that FO76 may be a simulation (inside the Fallout universe). Personally I build trap camps where the player gets a warning and can store the scrap before entering. From this point it is an intelligence test. Some pass, some fail.
Best way to destroy a trap camp is to have rocket turrets on a raised platform and have ur friend in power srmor attack you in the same direction as the camps u want to destroy and the rocket aoe will damage the camps
The ones I've been to, I was not able to see their username in any way and I was stuck in a way that I couldn't move, teleport and took damage inconsistently. I'm a low hp pa agl, fatman build and at that time, I didn't know you could blow up others bases, otherwise I would've just fired a few mirv mini-nukes.

Why? Because you do not like it? The point of the trap objects is to be used - as traps. I encountered different kinds of trap camps and sometimes died. The first one was a underground camp with radiation. Got caught by surprise and had good laugh. Some of the trap camps are really impressive (given the limited building mode). This is one of the last interesting things in this overly repetitive game. The events are not challenging in any way, the list of (mostly fetch) quests is limited and you can only repeat the dailies so much until it gets boring.
@@peterclarke7240 you can get to 100 in a week or less, if you want to. I leveled too fast for my own good when i started, just by joining events. Then, I was leveled, but hadn't played long enough to have plans to make any good gear or weapons. I'm just saying, level doesn't mean everything. When i was 120, I helped a new player who was lvl 15 get going, gave him xp boosting foods like relish, told him about events etc, less than 2 weeks later he found me in game & was in the 250s. I don't even care about leveling, it's only really important up to 300, who cares after that? So i decided to slow down so I didn't get bored too fast. Sorry for the rambling lol ~ just something to consider
Listen I understand blowing up a trap camp is satisfying but there are many things that could have gone wrong in this scenario: as soon as the owner of the camp tagged you you didn't even bother activating a stealth Boy so that you can survive not being killed in the process and while still being in PvP you could have blown up his camp in any way you liked my recommendation use nuke minds never use explosive weapons unless you have a 2-shot gauss minigun, instead of waiting for your Target to get away from the camp during a major event you decided to confront him in PvP completely understandable but way too exposed, and my final conclusion "use a rocket camp" (if you have a friend) it is reliable and my wife and I use it all it never breaks and you can adjust how powerful the rockets damage your partner just in case they have no explosive resistance

If you're on PC and you click Block on their name it PERMANENTLY Blocks them. I don't think it does on consoles though.

I've learned to have light footed equipped and crouched when at a vendor at someone's camp. Confuses them when I take no damage.
