What else do you think went wrong for Valverde?
make video about xavi's tactical analysis
Are u a coach
great analysis , de jong is not an defensive midfielder !!!
@@Dj-Boozz De Jong can play anywhere in the Centre from AMF, CM and DMF. He used to play as a holding midfielder at Ajax.
This should be required watching for ESPN, BEIN analysts. As they are clues on Barca and the passing game.
I think bartomeu is more of a problem than valverde was
Siddhant Saraf true
Sometimes I think Barto is a Madrid fan....
Agreed. Toxic fans also are ruining the clubs image
He is the biggest problem of all
LeoIIV toxic fans don’t run the club. There’s no excuse that this board is killing the club.
I love how Dembele wasn't mentioned in any of this.
Because he was in the hospital for the entire time
ty ty Last season he gave Barca 12 points
Lying on a hospital bed wont help Barça
He overrated anyways
coaches should be in charge of signing players not the board
Barcelona fans want beautiful football like back in the Pep days but the problem is they just don't have the personnel to do that. The core of that supreme team is either out of Europe, retired or too old to offer the same intensity. I think Valverde did well to adapt to the squad especially in the first season and still led Barcelona to La Liga victories. The Barcelona board are to blame mostly for the football Valverde offered which the fans didn't particularly love, they knew how he sets up his teams but offered him the job.
Barca's signings have been very questionable too in recent seasons. Coutinho sign for a hefty fee was not a fit, Griezmann is good but do you really need such a profile if you already have Messi especially when he's close to 30 and now they're also after Rodrigo Moreno who's similar to Messi and Griezmann. Just shows how they don't really know who's a perfect fit for the team.
They need players who move into spaces created by Messi dropping deep to create. They also need fullbacks who overlap to stretch play since currently it's Alba who does that and he's not getting young.
Too many fake-ass fans. They complain if don't win a treble every season, complain if don't play "beautiful attacking football", complain if win 1-0, complain about proven club legends (OMG players are getting older!), complain if the squad isn't filled with academy noobs who can't even perform against a 3rd tier team. This toxic fanbase is in for a reality check.
coaches should be in charge of signing players not the board
Very interesting, have to agree
JJ Ryan Fax
coutinho was bought to replace iniesta place..even his arrival forced iniesta to leave earlier than his wish..fact is signing after suarez were thrash & every single one..that sums up what were board doing
My man Valverde was unlucky, and still took us to a UCL semi-final, back-to-back La Liga titles, once almost unbeaten in the league. He didn't have the likes of Alves and Neymar but he compensated and still won it for us
He was shit. Totally pathetic
The one dislike is from Ernesto himself
Barcelona will face a worst season than Real Madrid last season once Messi retires
Zidane has done well to mitigate impending diaster at RM. He is a world champion, knows the club very well, successful at the top level. Barca doesn't have anyone like Pep anymore, yet pretend they are doing so by hiring mid-table coaches they say have the "Barca philosophy" instead of actually hiring a top tier coach.
JJ Ryan ooo really? Who is available to coach us?
How would you adapt to his retirement?
JJ Ryan so true. I think this philosophy thing is gonna hit back at barca one day. Winning is the philosophy and not beautiful football. I mean if they can play beautifully and win its great but if they cant but still win its not a bad thing. Defensive football isnt a losers style of playing. That is what barca fans should take note of.
mithaq ali pochetino, emery
Bartomeu's solution:
*"Get me Kevin-Prince Boateng's agent on the phone"*
Saying that valverde faced the weakest version of Madrid is wrong ! he faced the MD that won UCL and has Ronaldo while barca lost Neymar. The guy was very good in la liga and el clasico and we should be fair to him when it comes to la liga, his problem was in UCL, especially his decision to relay on the defence after winning by large margin in home which led to those two embarrassing comebacks that ruined his entire career with barca and ruined our image. I think Valverde is a decent manager and would work perfectly for other clubs that play direct football and don't have a huge demand like barcelona. For Setien, he has come to bringing Tiki-Taka back, but from the first games, the problems of Tiki-Taka that led us to ask for new type of managers and football appears again, and setien should bring new idea and tactic, not just bring the Tiki-Taka back since most clubs are already familiar with the style and know how to stop it.
In this video no mention about Iniesta Rakitic & Pikes aging problem
Barca fullbacks, midfield, and over all the whole team composite is the problem, griezman Dembele Coutinho some of the most un-logical transfer business ever, they need a completely new midfield and a real left winger, should of bought Son from spurs instead of griezman
Good shout
Koke or Saul would be a better signing from Atletico than Griezmann.
Exactly, this board r obsessed with signing no.10 players. It's like they r piling up Messi replacements for when he retires. Last season signing a left winger would have been the most logical and flexible since we never knew of Perez and fati then. We basically only had one winger which was dembele after selling Malcom. Yet the board to decide to blow their wallet on griezmann who doesn't suit the role of Suarez's replacement nor a winger. If they were gonna go for a Suarez replacement, should have went for lautaro, there's many better no.9s out there, rather then a griezmann with no role
Bryan L yep griezman plays the Messi role but you can’t have a team with 2 Messi roles because they don’t press or defend
@@reece2779 that's what happened to coutinho. And valverde and the board make the same mistake. At least what griezmann lacks on the offense he puts in defensive work
Valverde wasn't the problem (in fact, I'd say he's a good tactician overall). The main problems are: 1) Messi and his generation retire soon, and the next gen are not nearly as good. 2) Nostalgia is bad: tiki-taka was effective and groundbreaking for Barca and Spain in 2008-12, but today the tactical trend is exactly the opposite i.e. fast and vertical transitions disregarding possession (we even see the return of counter-attacking 4-4-2 to fashion with young managers like Nagelsmann) 3) Social media creates a toxic atmosphere 4) Internal political battles among Barca factions for the presidency (Bartomeu, Font, Laporta et.)
He wasn't tge problem but he was a problem you can't bottle 2 UCL games with a 3 goal lead b2b he should of been sacjed at the end of last season there is no excuse
Valverde didn't play the role of manager,he had no power within so he befriended the players and let them rule and do as they pleased...the players became less and less competitive doing as they pleased,no intensity both in trainings and in games, with a brutal fall in the capacity to compete (remind how spalletti described with astonishment how poor were Barcelona trainings);some players, due to their large list of success, had gained a lot of power within the club, and they played almost every Game, leaving no space for meritocracy and internal competition, which leaded to Coutinho playing on and on despite his ultra low level of performance, leaving out a real winger, dembele, much more skilled to give width and one-on-one habilites, speed, and capacity to score with both legs...also the absurd ostracism of semedo so Sergi Roberto could play despite a lower level as rightback, the constant appearance of rakitic playing every minute without deserving when there were 7-8more available midfielders un the team...the sempiternal appearance of Suárez playing every minute, leaving no room for dembele and Malcolm....It was ridiculous, but Valverde had no power inside so he let the sacred cows to rule over him, leading to a severe lack of the capacity to compete....
The biggest problem with Barca is that they need a complete overhaul next season players like busquets Suarez pique rakitic they have been fantastic for the club but their time is up great analys bro please just make more videos every week love your analysis
Ivan Rakitic's best performance was in World Cup 2018. He completely lost the plot after that. Barca need a midfielder who is young, physically fit and has good vision with passing range, like Xabi Alonso when he joined Liverpool first.
Yes but most importantly the one who loves to play for the badge & are willing to give everything they have got.
Valverde was a yes man and the board just doesn’t sign players that fit Barcelona profile
This is one of your best videos bro. The clarity from your analysis here is insane.
This didn’t age very well
It did. His poor tactics cost everyone everything
@@cruyffway6973 but he still manage to destroy Madrid
@@cruyffway6973 He won 2 la liga titles. Not what what you mean by everything
Valverde was a good manager .. The problem was from the board
excellent detailed and intelligent analysis. some of the best available. thank you.
Proper analysis, especially about the absence of a Dani Alves type defender, lake of Neymar's width and no Iniesta
Bravo. Execellent analysis. Keep the good work!
Very well explained!
Setien needs to ensure Grizzou stays in the No. 9 vicinity instead of running all over the pitch. It's very evident why Messi doesn't pass much to him...because he's generally caught running in all the 'wrong' directions compared to what the MSN were used to. I really hope Setien tunes up Griozzou's game to adapt to this, just like Pep did with Henry's.
Valverde Step-1: Pass to Messi he will do everything.
Great analysis!!!!
You are right. But remember we have Osman to provide us with width on the left
I was hoping you would do that....thank you!
superb analysis thanks bro
If only Valverde have seen this wonderful analysis!
He did well in his first two seasons
Well done. Nice analysis . Can you make a video on what style koeman will bring to barca?
From this video, Dembele on the Right could be key to Setien's tactics. He obviously want to use Fati on the left wing to occupy the space Messi leaves but Fati is just not ready.
Great analysis!
Setien actually destroyed the club lol
But never forget the real culprit ...BARTOMEU
Nice illustration 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
That pretty much sums it up man 👍
Great analysis.
May I ask what is the software that you use when simulating the pitch and player positions / movements / tactics ?
Bro please make a video on Enrique tactics at barca, I love ur narration nd ur videos bro keep it up
Very good analysis(only thing i dont agree with is Griezman not tracking back, hes been amazing at helping the defense).
Valverde isn't a top tier Manager but he is actuallt a good one, and i think this video shows that tried to utilise Barcelona's squad the best way he could.
Unfortunately for him, the Barcelona administration is bad, and made bad choices when building the squad over the years. Valverde, and now Setien, suffer for it.
Anyone else here that comment about fullbacks not providing the same quality as winger and think of the two best in the business at LFC?
Max Melser true bro
Valverde is a really good manager clearly better then koeman/setien i didnt love his style but still we werent bad! He leaded us to the ucl semi and selling Paulinho was a big mistake
Paulinho is a money merchant...he is a good player no doubt...but the clubs he plays for clearly justifies the fact that he rates money over anything
Nice video, but I'm missing one element
Why is Valverde the one to blame? No wingers in the team, no substitute striker, no really good full backs,... and as far as I know, Valverde wasn't the one in charge of the transfer. The problem is mainly with Bartomeu and Abidal, who is just incompetent as sporting Director.
Keep it simple 👋
Who is here after 8-2 under setian🤣
Koeman ball😂 now why do we get all these legends😂😂😭😭

In my opinion Valverde did not do it badly, although perhaps it is the Barcelona coach he had something big with players who have a big ego. But the absolute fault lies with the board of directors with Bartomeu at the head. He did not give Barsa the renewal it needs, the squad aged because of him. The league titles hid for a few years the falls in the Champions League, but it must be taken into account that in 2018 and 2019 Real Madrid did not even compete in the league after two painful seasons. Barsa won those leagues without doing much, but in Europe they had not reached the quarterfinals for 5 consecutive years. Between those 5 years, in 4 of the occasions he was eliminated being thrashed by Juve, Roma and Liverpool. Now for Bayern. Messi is the best in the world, worse today his friends play in the team and Barsa has become the team of Messi and his friends. Barcelona need a big Renewal, but it´s too late.

Selling Paulinho was a big mistake. He was key to Valverde's style and selling him while bringing players not fitting his system crippled him.
Do tactical analysis of Barca vs Valencia
An Outrageous Title!
Can u do an analysis on Ralph Hasenhuttl and how he has changed since the 9-0 defeat to Leicester?
Much waited video
Totally agree with your video. On top of that, current Barca is too one dimensional (tiki-taka heavy).
They are so good at tiki-taka but that's it.
No fast counter attack - they often stop in the middle to check their twitter and allowing opponent to get back to formation
No through pass - they should learn from Liverpool, as in their backline should give long pass more often to their forwards when opponent got high defensive line
No aerial prowess - even in corner they don't have the 'ball' to initiate aerial combat and often getting corner seems bad for Barca as it actually gives opponent chance to counter
No cutting pass - their midfield just busy passing the ball sideways and backwards instead of paying attention to Griezmann making his run behind opposition's backline
No physicality - most of their players have medium or even small body size, they have hard time if opponent gets physical just like when they got bullied by AS Roma and Liverpool, seems like watching highschoolers playing against primary school kids.
They might need a new coach but really they need players with different skillset (like Vidal) to give Barca more options in scoring goals. They need player who can:
Outspeed opponent's backline - Dembele is good but he's too prone to injury
Win aerial combat - Pique is the only one with aerial threat but he's a defender
Outmuscle opponents - Suarez and Vidal are currently the only players who can shield the ball, the rest just got hammered as soon as opponent charges in
If Barca can add some players to give more dimensions in their team with these three aspects then they have a chance of getting treble.
Who’s after 8-2
Me🤣🤣🤣 bro a realy miss valvirde...they don't consider how bad players he have...hope for a nice day mate👌💟
I don't think that the tactic was the weak poin of Valverde's work. If he wasn't lost crusial against Roma and Liverpool he would be the best coach in the last 3 years. I think that the leakest part of his work was that he hasn't able to motivate the team in almost won games.
When you lost 2-0 to Valencia but you can't blame Valverde anymore
when you criticize be logical. this is a new manager. new tactics, players have to do different roles. it takes time.
Hehehe. Watch out for the twerps who will try to milk it for a year or more. "Oooh he simply ruined Barca, RUINED it i tell ya. It will take years to recover from the DAMAGE he has done. Boo hoo hoo." No one answering why a club with world class players keeps hiring mid-table managers. Valverde was in over his head but did a decent job. He was always going to be outcoached at the top level. New guy is in the same position.
@@jjryan1352 you may have a point. However, Valverde was the laziest person i ever saw.
@@jjryan1352 Luis Enrique didn't have experience Rijkaard didn't have experience and most importantly pep didn't have experience, all of them didn't have experience managing big clubs, Rome wasn't built in a day, it will be absolutely moronic to expect results in two week, use your brain a little maybe you can avoid embarrassing yourself.
@@jjryan1352 valverde gave the players too much rest and almost no training at all
that was a badass vid I just watched
Valverde was way too practical for Barcelona. He was far too cautious and tried to play to prevent losing instead of playing to win with positional concepts Barca is known for. Seiten has more of a positional ideology, but curious if he can get the players to buy in to his way of playing as it requires a high level of running/pressing.
They should've sacked him this summer. That way Setién would've had more time to build a squad of his own and practise the new tactics during the pre-season.
That guy didn't even want De Jong to be signed, ffs.
You said you were gonna tell us what Quique Setien needs to do to avoid Valverde's mistakes
the best we can do now is using messi as a false 9 and griezmann as a second striker behind messi , dembele on either of the wings and coutinho at the standard iniesta role playing more like an attacking mid fielder rather than a winger instead of buying another striker we must go for buying a versatile full back and the best option is joshua kimmich who can link up really well with lionel messi as well as attack whenever we need him just like dani alves....
The next person Barca needs to fire to make Barca great again is Bartomeu
I dont think Valverde destroyed Barca at all. He got the maximum performance of and old, changueless team. Only people who knows about football can notice that this Barca cannot give more with the players they have now. The real problem is the bad desicions on contracts in the last years and thats more of a president's or sport director's issue.
still better than Setien and Koeman
Video suggestion: Sarri ball and how it has finally helped Ronaldo reach his peak with Juventus
I don't think Juve plays sarri ball the way Sarri wants it played
Finally reached his peak at Juve?? Are u trolling?
Hi. I'm from the future & I'm afraid to tell you that Barca is not looking good under Setien...
The answer: Nope. Setien didn't avoid any of them. He became Valverde version 0.5
Valverde is the better manager
This aged well
I disagree with the nature of this analysis. 433 and 442diamond are extremely similar pressing systems. Teams don’t use their defense shape while in possession. Barcelona vary their rotations every game. Messie didn’t stay in a static possession for an entire season...let alone for 5 minutes
I wonder how lucky Guardiola was with the crew he coach. Multiple of these players was absolutely perfect for the system Guardiola wanted to play.
@Name Name Does two leaving players make him not be lucky ?
And to have one of the most talented players in the world, wanted by any club in the world, to sell, is great. That's alot of money that could be used to further streangthen the team.
@Name Name I'm not saying Guardiola couldn't have won with different players. Look and Bayern and City. But to say "Guardiola is the best manager in history, just look at his trophies" is wrong. I think he might struggle repeating his results in lower table sides. He was really lucky having THAT team be his first team.
With those first Barca trophies in hand, he now can pick and choose what clubs to go to, and he chose Bayern and City. Teams that would have won the series within these years anyway. What's next PSG and Juventus ?!
Guardiola is good, also tactically and man-on-man. But he was lucky with that Barca side. He was lucky even if he could have waited but took his chance when he saw what players were there. He was lucky to have those players when the Barca board gave his the opportunity.
@@QazwerDave that old canard about coaching a low ranking team. Apples and oranges. Pep could have milked that Barca gig for as long as SAF and Wenger did.
Ten Haag didn't had the same players or bugdet yet he reached de semi finals
David Orvik It goes both ways, pep got a bit fortunate with a generational bunch of players, and the players themselves were lucky to have a manager who knew how to get the best out of them - the false 9 tactic is a clear example of his tactical prowess, he brought it back after many years and made messi the best player in possibly the history of football because of it. The best manager for the best team, it’s as simple as that.
Remember that pep was a noob when he took the job as well, no one expected him to do what he did.
Tell something about Ajax total football
Thank you valverde
I don’t blame Valverde.
the failure of Barcelona is to blame both the manager and players. except for a few most of them lack of drive and desire to play intensified.
And board
And fans too
Chris Mathew too
Can you do a tactical analysis for barca v Valencia
Lol ansu fati didnt track back and that was a huge mistake i noticed
setien must understand the versatility of this squad. If we don’t have a good winger instead of playing fati we should have played roberto upfield so that we cud have dominated from the centre instead he played fati which was never useful he still substituted him with another unexperienced and unfit winger which made no sense. Even valverde would have handled this situation better. we love possession ball yes but still the coach must adapt and change strategies according to each game. look at zidane He takes risks changing strategies in between the game and has experienced players who can adapt to the changes in tactics we have well balanced squad and sad part is that the manager could not dictate this team well. setien must not stay clueless again. hope everything gets better with barca. they must use messi’s prime form its sad that they are wasting it.
Hey pal, look, Setien was appointed on the 14th of January. He has been around Barca for less than a month. This HAS TO be taken into account. And another factor is the lack of wingers! Messi (who doesn't play wide), Fati (too young to take such a burden) and (injured) Dembele is what is left. I get your point that he has to adapt but he needs to exploit the wide areas and he has to see what his players can give to his team. I wouldn't bother if he wanted to sacrifice an already lost result for the sake of his team and his job.
Σαμιωτάκης Νεκτάριος i get it brother he was appointed in a crucial time. setien has made vast changes. has taken a lot of risk training players every day. By doing this he can understand each player’s versatility more. in my opinion roberto needs to play in mid and semedo must play as rb. yes we don’t have good options in wide areas. fati is unfit its pointless to play him against such a physical side. he was struggling he could have changed him in half time. that was a big mistake from setien. a new coach taking over must be spot on with mistakes. setien is coming with a lot of experience. he stood clueless. if you want to reduce messi’s burden you need a creative winger like dembele if you don’t have dembele play roberto on wide areas cuz he has good experience playing as a wing back. he can play as a right midfielder and help both attack defence and pressing.
Σαμιωτάκης Νεκτάριος roberto has insane passing range. our right side is complicated cuz of messi’s presence. so we need more options on right side wen he drops in the middle. ansu fati or collado couldn even make good runs. we could have scored one goal at least to boost mentality.
Σαμιωτάκης Νεκτάριος im absolutely happy to have a talent like fati in our team but he is being overused. thats not good for the team and himself. he cannot dispossess or press. barcelona are sticking to their ideal formation always and never changing because they are afraid to make changes. setien is a coach who takes risks. Look at barca’s squad every player is insanely talented. If setien leads them well they can win any team anywhere. They aren’t being used well. setien’s average game possession is more than 70% which is incredible still he isn’t convinced yet. thats a great mentality. I’m hoping for betterment and don’t want him to be clueless again. Also he must spot mistakes in the half time. he is taking time like valverde. that sucks but i think he will learn as the season progresses cuz he is a person who makes instant changes. we are still second in the league in ucl in cdr. if we gain good mentality it would give us high momentum. Hope barca wins it all this year.
@@sharegan6822 Man, the excitement Setien has brought is on another level. I love that, the whole atmosphere... He has a lot to prove but I want to be lenient on him and in this first season I won't demand major titles. We all want our club to be successful, though. A treble seems doable but too difficult. We indeed have a lot of talent and players who can play in a bunch of different positions. We have to admit, however, that the board is like a criminal. Why did they have to sell Perez if there is a lack in the wings? Perhaps they can get him back because he is on loan until Summer. Do you know of they can get him back if we have another injury problem?
Barca should write a book: scouting gone wrong. They are constantly spending money on player types they already have while they needed to replace ones you have lost
You don’t have to be a genius to know that Valverde was not suited for Barca. The appointment if Bartomeu is a curse. Can you do an analysis Setien and what players we need. Next season I think we’ll have width, Trincao and Maia. I think we should have appointed Klondike.
Valverde didn't destroy barca. What people fail to understand is that barca is a tough side to manage or even play for, due to the limitations players and managers have with the tactical style. Valverde was more of a coach who relied on heavily on the intensity from his players. Valverde was brilliant at athletico bilbao due to the players he had, players who fought in every match to get a result, players who always played with high intensity and dint depend so much on their technical attributes.
Barcelona hired the wrong manager, the players never adapted to valverde, but instead expected valverde to adapt to their own style of play, which was never gonna happen with a team that requires immediate results.
Valverde's Espaniol and Olympiakos along with Bilbao are good examples too!
what happened to your podcast?
just asking
Barca fans are so spoiled. Valverde won two league titles and a cup in the 2.5 years and they are so ungrateful.
How come Messi defended Valverde until recently? Specially knowing that Messi had to work much harder the last 2 years than ever before 🤔⚽️⚽️⚽️
Its because he knows that valvarde tactics good but board made bad signing which doesnt help the team.. EX coutinho
And people bash messi for liverpool and roma fans of this game can be a disgrace to the worlds best dribbler, playmaker, assister, goalscorer and winger my goodness, the amount of hate he gets is unreal the only reason they were 3-0 in any of those games was because of him and it's up to the rest of the team to be successful liverpool were a team so were roma Barca were a one man team
I didnt realise the other teams only had eight players on the field as seen in this video. Ok i assume the keeper was there so make that nine. Are you saying the opposition team stikers never ever dropped back?.
Then what's the point of buying Coutinho for so expensive.
Hahahahah...
@great dane They made a wrong choice then. Different skill set. Moreover, Iniesta didn't play in the front three which was where they shoved Coutinho.
Setién aren't better than Valverde... I support ten Hag or Pochettino as a manager in Barcelona, they have the tatical style that the team needs. But Barcelona should bring some key players, like a ofensive right-back, a attacking midfielder and a left-winger, in my opinion the best names are: Héctor Bellerín, Havertz and Neymar.
My ideal 11 for Barcelona 4-3-3
ter Stegen
Bellerín, Lenglet, Umtiti and Alba
de Jong (Arthur/Rakitić), Busquets and Havertz (Vidal/Riqui Puig). De Jong also can play in Busquets's position
Messi, Griezmann (Suárez) and Neymar
Another good video, thanks, but do you really need such a title? Too clickbaity for my taste tbh.
When jordi alba push high for making corsses right back serhio roberto dont pushed high its also a mistake pf barcelone if he pushed high some more presure will come to right side of oponennt defence and messi is a good dribler he make somany chances by dribling he dripes deep and make runes by dribling and creat somany cjances for suarez but siarez every time take volley and miss and another problem is valverde dont make any tactics for barcelona without droping deep of messi
The best thing for barca is to let go of Messi, as stupid as it sounds sometimes I feel he has an inner circle in his teammates in which only players he like r involved, just let him go and start rebuilding while the time is there cause if they're going to wait long I think it's going to be too difficult
He can't, hindsight is a wonderful thing.
So you want to say under valverde, messi covered midfield, central forward as well winger position!
Aka free role
Barca had one phenomenal generation and the fans fully expect every team after that to perform at that standard while playing their crap tiki taka, they’re in for a nice dose of reality and I’m here to see the tears.
the next-gen Real Madrid is as good as Barca with Messi and Suarez...that should be plenty of trouble for them...imagine if Real Madrid decide to really develop players like Vinicius, Rodrygo and Jovic, while also getting a better version of Odegaard who can then be mentored by the likes of Modric and Kroos to be the next-gen midfield engine. They also got performers like Isco and Asensio who just didn't have a good season in 19/20...the next decade looks good for Real
Based on what koeman is doing. Valverde was much better
Koeman is so dog.....kicking out Luis Rakitic Arturo was not even a solution at least they performed ...ya everyone was pointing out the average age of Barca players at that point but you as a manager need to decide what is good or what is bad for the team....
5:11 shows goal against madrid
Valverde shouldn’t have even been in Barcelona. His style didn’t fit the current philosophy
The video shows Valverde although a problem, wasn't the real issue. He didn't have a squad to play a certain way, be it his way or how Barcelona fans want the team to. Barcelona lacked a proper LW, a No.8 and attacking RB to play the possession based football and also lacked a deep playmaker, a modern CDM and wide midfielders to play the Valverde brand of football. Eventually he tried to combine both and achieved neither, which isn't really his fault. I would only blame him for his cowardice in both the UCL bottlings, something neither Lucho nor Pep would have shown
The moment he got hired
Valverde made it worse, but Luis Enrique destroyed it first...but the real responsible for all of this crap are Rosell and Bartomeu, the presidents that destroyed the best team in history and its club.
Critics broke most of the later coaches confidence😤😢
