- It's that time of year again. Today we are harvesting our later varieties of cranberries. Some varieties are designed to color up faster so that harvest can be spread out without the risk of over-ripening. If all varieties are ready at the same time some end up being harvested a bit early, some right on time and others a little late because you can only do one bed at a time. These are our later varieties and are at the perfect ripeness for harvesting.

I’m in Maine and I wish I could share the photos that I took this afternoon with you all. It was 55 degrees today with a nice breeze and just a gorgeous Fall day. I went for a walk at a local farm that has walking trails too. Although I’m not a winter/snow person, I will always be thankful of living where I do. I hope everyone is doing well wherever you are 🥰☀️🐄🚜

I’m always surprised when I watch harvest videos that you don’t have freezer meals that you just pull out and pop in the oven or crockpot on those busy busy days. You could have cookies made into balls frozen to put in the oven too. Just a thought that would make your days a little easier.

Miss Maria is just the sweetest. Giving cookies to her brothers was heart warming. And that last bed of cranberry's was such a lovely hue of red. I am really enjoying learning a bit about the harvest.
Hi Jennifer! Like so many others, am absolutely fascinated by all that goes into cranberry farming and harvesting. Thank you for sharing and educating. Question please: what becomes of the white berries? Thank you, Jennifer, Warren and all.
I keep all the white berries in the fruit I save for myself. I find that the white berries are a little higher in pectin and really help my jellied sauce gel nicely. At the processing plant the whites are sorted out and used in juice and sauce making, but not for dried cranberries.
Love watching a totally different harvest. We are a small UK mixed farm with wheat, oats, barley, beans, maize for cattle feed and also a dairy herd and a few beef cattle. Our harvest is over and considering our mixed weather this year - heatwave to flood, It’s been ok

Since starting to watch the beginning of your cranberry harvest, I have been craving surprisingly dried CRANDBERRIES!! So, needless to say, my large bag of Great Value dried cranberries is getting low. I believe you said that brand could possibly be from your farm...correct??
