Ali Wong & Randall Park Discuss Casting Keanu Reeves in 'Always Be My Maybe'

- “Extra” sat down with Ali Wong and Randall Park as they promoted their film “Always Be My Maybe.”
In the movie, one of Ali’s love interests is played by Keanu Reeves, who shot his scenes a year ago. When asked how they got him onto the project, Ali said, “He was always our first choice. The script was sent to him, we never thought we’d get him… he had watched my Netflix special ‘Baby Cobra’ and he read the script and he said yes. I think he literally wrote, ‘I would be honored to be part of your love story.’”
Park chimed in, “He was quoting lines from her special.”
Wong pointed that Keanu was “giggling” while watching the movie for the first time at the Los Angeles premiere last week. - Zábava

I love how Keanu can make fun of himself. Like he's basically playing a hyper exaggerated version of his public perception and basically saying that guy would be a douche. Also big fan of Randall Park and Ali Wong so this was a no brainer for me.
Yes! I also love that they took advantage of Keanus popularity at the moment, and how they turned out writting such funny representation of him. And also the guts to send him the script being what it is: a joke of his persona

You know he improvised that part where he starts doing the kung fu. and it was his idea to just start naming off Chinese dignitaries. I think he nailed it.
The whole movie overall was a really good watch, but the surprise Keanu scenes were the best parts for me.

@@meaghansamimi8608 Good thing Randall knew how to handle that question because *of course* the interviewer would ask that kind of question. regardless tho, it's all in the past. :) Ali's happily married, got two kids. :) It's just cute the way Ali reacted to that question, like she didn't see it coming and her face is just so transparent 😂 she's adorable 😁 and funny 😂

I was definitely looking for the answer and found this video. Sometimes as a fan it’s an interesting question. Much like Leonardo Di Caprio and Kate Winslet. You just get curious when two actors have great chemistry. Given their reaction, something happened. Out of respect and privacy I am sure they’ll never say.
I think between two mature adults who are friends specially it shouldnt be an awkward question to answer truthfully and just move on
Let's be honest, given how long they've known each other, they probably has a moment or a conversation a lifetime ago, but it probably didn't go anywhere and certainly didn't last (he's been married for 10 years). Whatever it is, it was great to see them both in different characters than they normally play, and that they had great romantic chemistry together on screen.
I got Netflix again just for this movie. I was not disappointed.
It was hilarious, I 100% recommend. Keanu was awesome.

The more I think about it, the more I can't think of ANY Hollywood celebrity that could do such a lighthearted, humble parody of themselves. With so much wit, grace, humor, self deprecation, coolness and fun. This truly takes an all around, ultimate cool guy like Keanu. He was happy and honored to participate in the project of those talented people and we all love him for it. I truly hope he gets all the peace and happiness he deserves. Keanu, you are the hero of many generations and we all love you!

I watched them film it on my block , I came out of my house to watch them take promo pictures on the Corolla. During the shoot, Allie was so nice and asked me if I would like to take a picture with her and Randall. I loved the movie and getting to meet them. It was exciting to see the huge production crew and all the trailers in our neighborhood.
I loved the movie- I actually didn’t expect it to be so touching. Love Randall and Ali ❤️❤️ Keanu is adorable as always 🤗🤗
