    Construct, a very peculiar word. Gm_construct is an amazing Garry's Mod map which we can all recognize, here are (almost) all of the steps it took to get here!

      It actually makes a lot of sense if you consider the name "Construct." The video man didn't seem to catch on, but the couch in a white void from the first version of gm_construct is undeniably a reference to The Matrix. In that movie, they also have a featureless white room with comfy sofas that can load in any desired object. And the room is called... "The Construct."
      I always figured Construct got its name from players "constructing" their Source creations in a basic environment, but it turns out it was actually originally intended as a reference to one of my favorite movies all along. Who knew?

    I think in gmod YOU are stuck in some level of the back rooms. That’s why you don’t see anyone but feel watched. Sometimes you see dark figures.

    You don't go into the dark room. You just don't. You seal it and keep away.

      @JustinTK416 Před 3 lety +1

      No, embrace the dark room!
      You must revel in its abyss for all of... four seconds...
      Then go back to screwing around with NPCs and explosives.

    I find it funny but also interesting that all of this started as a white room. Maybe the white room from Gmod 12 onwards is meant to reference that.

    This map just seemed so empty and barren to me, almost kind of scary. But it still gives me a sense of nostalgia for some odd reason even though I played this map when the map looked how it is now.
