Roustabout chipping on deck

Deck maintenance is part of the roustabout's scope of work when working on the rig. This video showing the roustabout scale off the rust on the deck prior to painting. The procedure is to chip off the rust on deck by using deck scaler or chipping gun thereafter buffing off the deck before applying primer paint on deck.
Using deck scaler required to adjust the setting on tool itself otherwise it may create more damage to the deck. The purpose of scaling rust is to make sure the steel on deck will not be deteriorated. We normally use chipping gun instead of deck scaler to remove the rust.

Hi Im about to go for bosiet course ..after that should i get any other certifcate to join rigs as fresher ...or we can join directly....? Im from bangalore..

Bosiet is suffient to work offshore, addtional certificate is depending on what position you are applying for.

Hi i am form india my Qualification is HSC with Science background (High school diploma) and i have also , diploma in fire and safety couse . Right now i am going to pursuing BOSITE as well as STCW course so, it is enough to joine oil rig as a roustabout position . “I am fresher” .
