Really enjoyable pod so far! You’re naturals at this format 👏🏼
The podcast is exactly why I was/am such a big fan of your channel. You guys didn't only sit down and watch the films, but offered great commentary at the end of each reaction.
With this podcast episode I can tell and you truly love cinema without sounding pretentious.
Really digging this new format. Is a good fit for you guys.
You have to see the trailers for Nosferatu and The Beast Within , these two films are coming out this year and hope 🙏 you enjoy watching them.
The trailer for Nosferatu is fantastic. I'm really looking forward to that now.
The Thing has great dialogue too. “You gotta be fucking kidding” the moment the characters feel what the audience just felt.
And at the end, MacReady: “Yeah, fuck you too!”
Thanks, Shaun! Thanks, Tom! 🎬 This was fun.
Love the new format for the channel. And...I'm gonna watch Psycho tonight! ;) thanks guys
Nice, already subscribed. Loved the episode, and the game too! On The Big Picture podcast they recently (first June episode) played a game where you build your own studio from scratch, and you're the CEO responsible for the decision-making. So you start by flipping a coin to decide who goes first, and then you take turns picking 3 directors under contract, 5 exclusive movie stars, 1 franchise IP, 3 literary properties, 2 in-house screenwriters, 1 classic film to remake, your first film as head of production (using, for example, your franchise IP), a studio location and so on. Not sure what you’ve got planned next, but I thought something like this would be great for you to try sometime.
Now this some good content
The podcast format I think works must better for your guys conversational style! Excited for the future of the channel🎉
Finally a movie podcast i can listen to while I workout lol
Hey...it's those Tim and Sam kids! Good to see them out doing a podcast. Keep it fun, keep it rolling like donut, fellers.
Great first episode guys, really enjoyed it!
Best of luck with this venture. Love the reaction videos but I am looking forward to this new direction!
Just finished listening to it on Apple podcasts. Enjoyed it. Good relaunch. I like the My Film is Better Than Your Film game at the end. Hope you decide to keep that part. You won me back so far ;-)
Oh and to answer your question, Tom's choice is a better film. Shaun's film is more entertaining. That's a diplomatic answer ;-)
The reason I don't have an issue with House of the Dragon and The Knight of the Seven Kingdoms running concurrently is that people complain about 2 year waits, others say 2 year waits are a good thing because it allows the quality to remain high, whereas this can sort of be the best of both worlds, in that you get a show every year that is high quality because they took their time to make it. I think Star Wars has gone over the top with the amount of shows going on, but the bigger issues for me are that they're just not very good, and that you have 1 show with 3 seasons, 1 show with a second season coming out soon, then a whole bunch of shows with 1 season. It's all so disjointed and watching it you don't care about any of the characters outside of Andor. With just 2 shows, each coming once every 2 years, as long as the quality is high (which it has been so far with HOTD), then I have absolutely no problems with it. It's content at the same rate we were getting peak Game of Thrones.
THANK YOU!!! Give us the 3rd “Alien” prequel!!!! #JusticeforPrometheus
Love the podcast style. Timestamps would be even better lads.
Love the new podcast. Hope u guys do an episode after watching Deadpool & Wolverine 😁
I am glad for you guys that you have decided to mix it up a bit. It's the Journey after all! ;)
Big discussion on Aliens when Tom gets to it. And introduce yourselves for new viewers.
Loved it 😁
Great podcast, make the game a regular feature. Love John Carpenter, but it's gotta be Hitchcock, all day, everyday!
Shoutout to the subscriber that did the artwork 27:13 🌟
Sweet. It’s only been 1 hour since posting, and I’m from the States.
I choose Psycho, because it was the first slasher movie to give us a good twist. Not only for the killer reveal but also for killing off the main character on who we thought was the final girl.
I had to watch blade runner numerous times until I finally liked it. Seeing the sequel helped. But it was the ultimate version, whatever that’s called, it had the unicorn dream.
Good to hear your reviews on the films you go see- would love to see you react to Aliens though Tom
Godzilla Minus One was enhanced in black and white.
I can see it working well with that one. I haven't seen it in black and white yet, but I definitely will. It's a prequel to the original, so it makes sense to do it in black and white.
Just listened on Spotify, but can't comment or even rate.. so came here to Like 👍
I watched "The First Omen" yesterday and thought it was great.
"Empire of the sun" is a beautiful film - watched it many years ago.
I remember watching a interview of hugh jackman saying he would only play wolverine if it was in the mcu
Oh and regarding Jackman/Logan, if I'm not wrong, Robert Downey Jr has appeared more times as Tony Stark overall?
but Jackman's was longest career as a live action marvel character, both him and RDJ have played their respective characters 10 times each.
This has landed straight after Italy Croatia Spain Albania games 👍 Euro's
Like the new format guys.
Break these films down and discuss.
You guys need to watch Empire of the Sun...
Dark Phoenix is fantastic, and a great way for the series to wrap up. Screw the haters, they took a year long comic story and distilled it down to 2 hours. I'd put Dark Phoenix ahead of Logan for sure. As for best comic book movies, it's between Batman Begins and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Ultimate Edition.
Live action Apocalypse is Laughable Xmen 92 and now 97 that is awesome he shows a appearance
Yes!
Boys, you need to go to a Horror Film Festival like Fright Fest and watch some excellent indie Horrors. Unfortunately the majority of main stream horrors are crap. Last year for me Raging Grace and Dr Jekyll were brilliant horror films.
Let's go
Snyder Cut Justice League did black and white aswell 👍
I think Psycho is iconic and The Thing is more of a cult classic. I love both films and it’s hard to choose, but I’ll go with Psycho 🚿 🔪 🩸
Should see The Duellists. One of R. Scott's best. But what would I know, I loved the body horror of Covenant, much preferred it to Aliens.
You guys seen the LongLegs trailer? Movie looks brilliant!
Surprised you chose SPIDER-MAN 2. Great movie but would’ve thought DARK KNIGHT RISES.
more lighting
Hi guys loving the podcast I really missed u both have you both seen the insidious red door film and the insidious 1 to 4 films are you both going to see twisters film coming in cinemas in July 2nd film from twister Helen hunt film in the 90s I love watching alien vs predator movie
Your lighting and set need some upgrading but a good first show.
It'd be interesting if Richard Dreyfuss's character from Close Encounters appears in Spielberg's new UFO movie.
@@boomieboo will be updated in next episode 😊
Well... you had a really unique thing with react. Now this... I don’t now. There is a hard competition of podcasts out here. Are you sure? 😮
there is a movie that i saw i like was psycho 1988 with Vince Vaughn
The Thing is still a more enjoyable watch despite any cultural influences the other may have. And that’s the point in the game, right?
No necessarily, the point of the game is to just try and debate why the film is better, could be in any aspect haha
I would say…”Psycho” being the first doesn’t make it the most influential…although movies have copied a lot of the elements of “Psycho” because the cinematography is highly stylized, & they are paying homage. BUT, I would say “Black Christmas” influenced “Halloween” and “Halloween” is THE REAL influencer queen of the slasher genre. When “Halloween” came out, then came all the 1980s copycats.
❤
The failure of Star Wars is not due to oversaturation.
They like Logan but haven't reacted to X-Men '97 😭
I don't know... you young whippersnappers! Us older folk know, that "The Thing" wasn't the original, but a loosely based adaptation of the 1951 "classic" The Thing From Another World. But I bet most of the younger audience probably have no knowledge of it. You can't really compare Hitchcock to Carpenter. Different times, and audiences. But if it hadn't been for Hitchcock...? I think "Psycho" probably had more of a "shock" value, because of the time it came out, and that there wasn't really much else out there like it , whilst "The Thing" was just tarting up the original film concept for an 80's audience. Nothing wrong with that though. 🔪
Team Psycho baby all the way! Is tops and better. Psycho didn't and doesn't need remakes. 🤷 Fiction is false so not scary not real. Psycho because...well they're real. Nice try Shaun. 👍
Love your reaction vids, 2nd only to Whimsory. I hate this Pod crap. It's lazy and assumes that we ALL care about movies we disliked or have no interest in AT ALL...UNsuscribed boys
Thank you for your honest opinion, it was fun while it lasted, thank you for being a subscriber 😊
Boring
