  • We install two Amazon LED dome light bars in the cargo hatch area of our new Ford Bronco 6th Gen. We show detailed instructions on how to hard wire the to a switch inside the rear cargo area. Take note, we found that the 12V power source in the rear of the Bronco will stay powered after vehicle shut off for 1 hour, and the factory rear light will stay on for 10 minutes.
    Here are the items we used for this install:
    - LE-JX LED Lights: amzn.to/30Hw7h8
    - 3M Double Sided Tape: amzn.to/3DEIOYr
    - Switch: amzn.to/3FwhAUs
    - Solder Seal Connectors: amzn.to/3DEErfY
    - Wire Connector Kit: amzn.to/3DFffWC
    - Step Bits: amzn.to/2Z5Z6dR

    You should stick the interior one on the plastic cover. Much better interior lighting. Also you can power it off a PD cigarette to USB adapter with a 12V trigger cable.

    you should have wired them to the aux switches in the cab, there are circuit wires that lead to the rear from the hood th behind the glove box then finally to the rear trunk space behind one of the panels. This way you can leave it on as long as you want because the auto power doesn't cut out

    • @shockerracing

  • @jameschilton20
    @jameschilton20 Před 2 lety

    Would you be able to let me know the dimensions of the plastic panel you put your switch in?
    How deep is it behind there? Do you think a small 12v computer fan could be cut into that panel and installed on it's own switch? Do you think there would be enough room for airflow behind that panel. Just thinking of a clean way to get some air flow if sleeping in the back.
    Your video inspired me!

    I like the idea of tapping into the 12v plug. Is there any issue using the 12v plug at the same time as having the lights on? Say a 12v fridge in the plug and lights on? No issues blowing a fuse? Thanks for your vid and help!

    • @shockerracing
      @shockerracing  Před rokem

      I’m honestly not sure about having a fridge plugged in. It probably depends on how much power it draws.

      @@shockerracing Thanks for the quick reply!!! I may still try hardwiring some light into the back there. Right now I got it by the 12V adapter but seeing as I never remove the light, hardwiring would really clean it up. Thanks for your help!

  • @jameschilton20
    @jameschilton20 Před 2 lety +1

    Thank you for this video! Is there a wire you can tap into that will always be on? Thinking of a 2 8 inch red led strips on each end and then 3 8 inch white led strips in the middle. Wired to two lights so depending on what type you want.
    Do you know is there a wire that you can tap into to always have power? Not just within 1 hour?
    Thanks again.

    • @shockerracing
      @shockerracing  Před 2 lety

      I’m not sure about where to find a wire that will stay powered on longer. I haven’t had a chance to play around more. Do you have the auxiliary switches?
