[First Contact]
"THIS IS ARALIA. AN UNTOUCHED WORLD OF SERENITY. HOME TO LIFE AND ITS DESCENDANTS. AS OVERSEER, I WAIT UNTIL HUMANITY IS AT PEACE AND READY."
This was the first and last time we heard the voice from beyond the barrier. It was overheard by a someone only known as "Kudzu", an ancient explorer who regularly traveled to the barrier, the invisible wall that surrounds our world. A few years after hearing the voice, he supposedly went missing, never to be found again.
The world of Aralia is an ocean surrounded by a ring of giant islands, each one being home to vastly different cultures and communities. At least...that's what we can assume. The government who runs this world now...they don't allow travel of any kind. Even talk of the barrier is looked down upon. This is their way of ensuring our "safety".
There are no large conflicts, but is this truly the "peace" that our God wanted? Is it fine to be segregated from everyone? Is it okay to live in ignorance, going off the words of our ancestors? None of this feels right. I don't think this is living. I want to explore and solve the world's mysteries, and that's what I plan to do...one day. When the time is right.

Reminds me of Darksiders 2: Tree of Life theme, not the exact same vibe, but the fact that both themes have such a mystical, mysterious ambience to them, that "a world full of life and previously in peace but now facing a dark despaired era" mood, and I love it

@@Shadycicada Darksiders music has a good amount of music that is just "decent", not mind blowing but definitely appealing to your ears, and a good amount of music that is actually banger after banger, some music that... gosh, I don't know hoe to describe it but some of those themes are some of my favourite ever... Specially both Darksiders 2 and Darksiders Genesis have the best music out of all 4 current Darksiders games, if you want a personnal recommendation 👍❤🔥

This sounds so good! It REALLY gives a whole Ethereal and Ominous tone at the beginning, a (journey of a hero through barrier) vibe in the middle, and then at the end, our (hero?) Kneeling on a rock in the hands of a *B e i n g*
It was a magnificent track, and you definitely used your inspiration from Sawano effectively. You got probably one of his most influential and recognizable musical flourishes perfectly; the swell into near-silence before everything comes back in for the climax of the song.

This feels like the introduction cutscene where we meet the main protagonist and it shows his or her world and how humanity or whatever species has survived on this harsh and hostile world, perhaps the barrier is the only thing keeping humanity alive but there are millions of people working every day struggling and trying their best to make their world a little bit better allowing for the introduction or sneak peek for the first party member or a few of them even.

I used to day stuff like this when I started off as well. You absolutely can! It's all about practice (: covering songs also help! It helps you learn what techniques they might have used. Keep it up, and you'll eventually find your style!

Not gonna lie when you introduced the percussion section I immediately went "wait....that has some serious Xenoblade X vibes?!". Sure enough, one google search later: "composed by Hiroyuki Sawano". I absolutely loved X's soundtrack, so listening to this song almost immediately made it one of my new favorites!
Xenoblade X was actually my first real introduction to Sawano! (Xenoblade is also my favorite series ever, next to Zelda. We need a port of X real bad). Such a beautiful soundtrack! (And thank you so much for the kind words!)
@@Shadycicada Same in regards to Sawano's music! X was also my first Xenoblade game so it holds a special place in my heart (even though I still do really understand a lot of it's mechanics 😅). Gotta revisit it soon, sylvalum had the best music (although uncontrollable is without a doubt the best part of the ost)

The description has most of the info, but for this song specifically, I used East West Symphonic Orchestra for orchestra, Vocalisa: Slavic Women's Choir for vocals, Damage 1 and 2 for percussion (as well as addictive drums), and Omnisphere 2 for synths. Hope that helps (:
