- In Vista, California, Don Prudhomme has his old race shop set up as a sort of drag racing museum. Mostly filled with his own history, which is quite extensive. But on November 5, 2011. He filled his shop with the racing equipment of many an old drag racer. And outside, the o.k., was given to fire a few of the cackle cars. Here are the Magicar and the Barnstormer. Enjoy...

How can a simple rail car be so beautiful? Different times.
SWB front engine dragsters are some of the coolest racecars of all time.
How can anything so brutal sound so beautiful?
Does my heart good to see these old dragsters preserved, and taken good care of. Thanks for sharing!
🇺🇸⚔️🍕🍺🏁🏆🤙
Thanks, Charles. Happy to be of service. Bill
These are the most awsomely beautiful dragsters EVER. Make the hair on my back and knuckles stand up!
Let's see the Japanese build a better one of these 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🍻🍻💪💪
@@tommccallan8802 Technologically, mmmeaah, maybe. But the can never match the soul and unbridled fury of these old quarter mile gladiators.
That first digger looks great in gold.
Moth To Flame!
Saw This Car when I was a kid...Still want to touch & smell the Magicar...AGAIN!
The"Magicar" with "Jeep"Hampshire at the helm. Magic indeed!
Man nothing cackles like a HEMI😨
i just cant get enough of the beautifull transitions from alcohol to nitro fuel. transforms the engine into a beast of unknown origin. great sound!!
ow btw, isnt Ricky deaf by now?
That point in time of transfer when it almost quits.. then quickly starts the hammer process in the cylinders.
I live for that..... The King of speed was always badass at doing static loads on the motor in the pits. Makes your eyes go in same frequency as motor. Most GOD AWESOME.
It's all in the fuel
If he is not deaf, he will be in years to come
1972,OCIR,I still have a signed chunk of blower,Don !! Scratch awl signed while it was still warm.
I remember Jeep Hampshire . He came to Honolulu and raced at the old Hawaii Raceway park back in the 60's
I can’t wait to 1 day build my own 1 of these
IMO...The vintage drag helmet, goggle's, jacket, and gloves are more badass than the vehicle!
Love it keep the videos coming!!
The Magicar is my favorite cackle car! It would be a dream come true to see it in person and meet you Bill and Ricky.
HI MIke. Where do you live? Bill
Mikey T same for me i live in montreal canada i wish look a this in real
Were did you find Ivo's Barn Stormer ? He had been looking for it for years. I had a 1963 Ivo car that looked like it and met Ivo in Bakersfield in 2002 with it for the inaugural Ring of Fire. He was in my pit crew. What a Dream come true
You're not going to take it for a spin? Awwww!
Near Hershey Pa. A long way from you Bill. LOL.
I see after all these years, that you're Still hangin' with that funny lookin' Hawaiian guy,HUH ? ":-) :-)
nunyer beexnaz..... are you referring to Vince... in the video? He's Japanese, not Hawaiian.... unless you're talking about Roland.... didn't see him in the video... will have to watch again. : )
It looks like the motor is started on pump gas ..then switched to nitro? If so , what determines the right time to switch over ?
Ivo's Barnstormer, is the coolest Dragster ever!

Hi John.
What’s not to love about the “Barnstormer”.
It’s red. It’s sleek...
Beautiful stuff.
It was one of the first head on magazine cover photos, of the front motor dragster, I ever saw! I was at the local drugstore magazine rack, and there it was-coming right at me. Tire smoke pouring off the slicks. I fell in love right there! I was 13 years old.
I also remember pointing to the picture and asked my Dad if the smoke was pouring out of the motor!!
Dad said, “No. It’s tire smoke.”
That began my love affair with the front motor dragster. :)
Second best would probably be Greer Black Prudhomme. The Magicar is no slouch either. Thanks Bill.
And I would include Big Daddy's "Swamp Rat"
@@JohnW1711stock... personally, I think the GBP digger, along with Magicar, The Rattler, Keeling & Clayton and a host of others, had much nicer bodywork & paint than this particular iteration of Ivo's, which was one of his first, if not The first for him.... don't remember exactly, it's been "a few days" since then. ; ) One of the most beautiful FED's I've Ever seen (and Very fast & Quick!), was in Div. 6 - on the Canadian side, belonging to the McCurdy Bros. from Saskatoon, Sask.
If I remember right, I think they were running A/FD and were outrunning almost all of the US A/FD cars that ventured up there, by an easy 2/10ths, then they built a RED - T/AD that was also, outrunning the US T/AD's when they were going up there back in the early to late 1970s... and it too, had absolutely stunning body work & incredible paint, all done by one of the brothers, who was a body & paint man by trade and his brother who did the driving, owned a transmission shop and he built all their engines and transmissions.
its so bad ass! i would totally shit my pants having my face so close to those tires tho lol. one blow out and your face falls off
2:11 SHE’S ALL NITRO
No hearing protection? WOW
I think when they started running bigger blowers and nitrous methane super fuel that front engine dragsters were too dangerous to drive if there are carbureted fuel injection that's a different story No blowers. Naturally aspirated.
More cool+awsome than tear engined rails, but also MUCH more deadly if clutch or flywheel comes apart! < can cut rail in half, taking your feet+legs
also---- Sorokin,orange co.67?☠
Engine fire could burn driver to a cinder( zoo keeper mulligan indy 68?
☠, " nothing he could do"
Yep white shirt is officially deaf now
Does Ron have ear plugs in?
/a
That's a dragster
BRUH IT'S MIYAGI
brought to you by the united States of America....nothing like it in the WORLD.
I just saw Pat Morita starting a dragster.
Mr. meyagi!
That's what I said ! LOL !
