Well, I think that the Republican Party is too far gone to be saved. Keep in mind that the GOP adopted its notorious "Southern strategy" of deliberately wooing white racists more than 50 years ago. This isn't a new development, although it's been getting worse and worse.
Both Romney and McCain joined the Republican Party _after_ that "Southern strategy" was party policy. They knew what the GOP was like when they joined it (certainly by the time they ran for office). They knew the party was _deliberately_ using racism for political advantage, but they joined it, anyway.
For a half century now, the guiding policy of the Republican Party has been the willingness to do pretty much _anything_ for political power. Well, I say "pretty much," because I used to assume that they'd draw the line at treason. No more. These days, I'm convinced that there is nothing - literally *nothing* - Republicans won't do for political power.
And again, it _started_ with deliberately using racism for political power. That was enough for _me_ all the way back then.

People got to prove me wrong. There has to be an overwhelming turnout in the November midterms, because honestly, people complaining about systems, but they don't vote. People voted for third party, and threw away votes with write-ins, or chose not to vote.
I voted every single midterms, studied up and down races and now looking to protect the secretary of states positions in the midterm. That's why I'm outspoken, because I will go against those I didn't vote certainly not the previous pres.
