    Awesome breakdown. Thanks for all the slow mo examples, it’s always so fast - it’s nice to see it all so clearly. 😍

    Bar contact for snatch is easier to master as opposed to clean … at least for me due to odd proportion 6’3 wingspan at 5’10 height

    Great video as always, Coach Greg. Could you do a video like this for the clean contact as well? I find that my bar path is less vertical now after fixing my early armbend. The contact hit my thighs earlier and the bar swings outward.

    Can these teaching cues transfer to the clean as well; i.e. keeping the bar close to the legs, shoulders in line with the bar, and finishing the second pull with he shoulders lightly behind the hips, etc.
    This is a great video for me to slow down my snatches and practice good technique. Thank you

    Thank you! Helpful video as always. I have relatively long arms and I already grab the bar as far outside as possible. My contact point is very low and it sometimes hurts. Do you have any recommendations? Thank you and greetings from Germany!

      make sure you're staying over long enough, and you can try shrugging up/back a bit earlier in the second pull (demo of what I mean in this video - czcams.com/video/WIMVSZ7XByY/video.html )

    Good stuff here, Greg! Maybe a bit too "academic" question here but as a newbie when I see Lily doing the slow snatch pull (and other variations) it ALWAYS finishes with the shoulder shrug. So MY question is ; in percentage terms, how much of that finishing shoulder movement / pull SHOULD ONLY take place as a result of proper leg / hip extension, and how much (in %) should there be an intentional pulling from the lats / shoulders and to a lesser extent - arms?? Hope you get my question, sorry if it's too "in the weeds".

      @CatalystAthletics  Před 2 lety

      %... no idea, and I don't think that's a good way to think of it. It's mostly % legs and a little % traps.
