I decided to change the air filter of my engine as part of periodic maintenance. Although it wasn't difficult, it wasn't easy either. But I was surprised by the surprise waiting for me inside the air filter after traveling for about 15000 km. This surprise, which I thought was a part of the air filter at first, was put there in a very high quality way. After some research I came to the conclusion that it was a rat's nest, which surprised me even more.

wow, what a pain in the Butt...was looking to buy one on used market, i do my own maintenance, and a simple air filter change that complicated of a task just busted my Baloon ! Thank you so much for your effort to show us all!

Like the Gold Wing, the Honda assembly line starts with an air filter and assembles a motorcycle around it! The reasoning is marketing. If the owner never changes the filter, the bike will quit running around 250k miles. If the filter was changed every 10k or so the bike would run for at least two million miles before wearing out! They have to sell new bikes somehow!

I’m gonna be honest with you… I have a 2014 ctx as well and it’s just gonna have to be what’s it’s gonna be, I refuse to take it down for a skeleton just to change the air filter.. I know that sounds awful but I’m sure as heck not doing all that…
