I counted at least 15 patrol cars against just 1 driver in a KIA, w/ some farther back. It's a no brainer for wasting taxpayers monies. Also, closing off the 2 right most lanes would have suffice and let other vehicles continue using the 2 left most lanes.

Dude, what the hell is going on in LA? Does no one pull over for police? They must have at least one or 2 high speed chases every day. Or lets say, high speed chases that go on long enough to make the news. There has to be more of them in LA than any other city in the US, by a long shot.

Why is it always LA that have these televised chases?
Well
1. Resources/technology. The LA area can afford it and has the people/machinery
2. Id say geography is big too bc LA is so spread out urbanly vs places like nyc or somewhere else. Like all the skyscrapers dont take up all the area and it’s flat. So its easy for a chopper to keep eyes on them not many things they have to worry about in terms of no flyzones or literally hitting things.
3. A good amount of trees but not too much natural plant life covering city streets. Tree foliage is usually thinner in cali compared to the north east or north west

LA still does these ridiculous chases. It puts everyone in danger, takes 50 or more cops off the streets and costs thousands. They'll put this show on even if it's someone running form a moving violation. Makes no sense. Most US cities don't do this anymore.
He should have gone into the parking garage, ditch the car, and flee on foot since no cop cars were following him. He just needed to hide from the copters vision.
