I love the implication that Camille is the Moon in “When the Sun Loves the Moon”! Usually in Enemies to Lovers, the “villain” is the Moon character, so the fact Victoria (who was displaced as the initially evil one in “Vices & Virtues”, “May I Have This Dance”, and “How Lovely”) is the Sun is so refreshing! Granted, I probably should have seen this coming from “Lover in the Sky” showing Victoria staring at the night sky, but still!

My favorite (not in any ranked order) ViCam illustrators are Ubeangel for the classic look (Vices and Virtues); Kitsukkit for the more-realistic, fleshed-out character designs that characterize through what kinds of accessories they wear and how they hold themselves (Eat Your Young); and Lynsian for that bright, lively anime aesthetic (Silk Chiffon). I may have favorites, but I totally want to see how other artists depict them!

"Here before and after me," and "So when I die, which I must do," sound more like a human's experience than an immortal's. Maybe the emotional truth of the song is more important than the lyrical accuracy? Or maybe Victoria is looking for a way to reenter the rebirth cycle? "When it comes to be my turn" certainly seems to suggest that. The lyrics and description both seem to emphasize the fleeting nature of their pleasure (e.g., as an eclipse), which makes sense given the context of Immortal and When the Sun Loves the Moon ("they wait for dawn"), to the latter of which this cover feels like a sequel. That said, it feels weird that When the Sun Loves the Moon is NOT on the ViCam playlist (currently).
I had previously assumed Victoria, as the vampire, was the moon, so this new artwork recontextualizes When the Sun Loves the Moon for me. Considering Victoria falls in love before Camille during the latter's latest reincarnation, it makes sense that the song is about the sun loving the moon. Also, Victoria seems to have a sunnier personality than cool, composed Camille.
It's surprising to me that Victoria is the one associated with the sun, considering vampires are usually nocturnal (in Western folklore, certainly--Wikipedia didn't mention Singaporese vampires, but it seems to usually be the case in China, Malaysia, Cambodia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and India). However, we have seen Victoria out in the daytime in How Lovely, Soldier, Poet, King, Hopelessly, and probably others. It's interesting seeing how the visual artwork contributes to ViCam lore!
Considering there are four covers on the ViCam playlist, I often wonder why some covers featuring ViCam artwork make the playlist and why others do not. I'm also curious as to why new songs sometimes get placed earlier in the playlist, which suggests deliberate chronological (or, at least, narrative) organization. ViCam's story is a fascinating puzzle! I love watching/listening to how the pieces come together!
