I actually met Weird Al, at a book signing, back in 2013. Everyone in the long winding line was given a piece of paper and pencil so that they could jot down what they wanted Al to write in their book. It was such a joy to watch how Al smiled and interacted with his fans. He was so sweet, sincere and patient!! One woman started crying, when she walked up to him, and without hesitation Al got up and gave her a warm hug, When it was our turn my then 12 year old daughter got real shy and Al playfully mimicked her and made her laugh! 🥰
I think this is one of my favorite wholesome CZcams comments!
Love this comment! 😂
Can picture that, crack up.
Aww that's adorable ♥
I so wish that I could share that captured picture with you all!
Weird Al is truly a treasure. He has had the amazing ability to be a musical genius, use it to make parodies, become a superstar because of those parodies, creates a 40 year career of it, and be humble enough not to let it go to his head or lead by his ego.
Don't forget that he made a cult classic movie!
@@terminalbungus9566 UHF is amazing. If "Weird" follows a similar formula, we're in for a ride.
Proof positive that the “Weird” people are actually the coolest ones.
Fun fact. Weird Al signed a 12 albums contract in the 80s that basically forced him to release albums for the next 32 years even if he just wanted to release singles. So he was "forced" to have a long career.
Such a dood✌️
Kurt: "Is it going to be about food?"
Al: "It's about how nobody understands your lyrics."
Kurt: "Great!"
🙃
Kurt thought it was hilarious because it he knew it was so true.
@@chriskay1449 saw an old interview with all three of the guys, and they said: "That's when you know you've made it!"
Marble garbles in your mouth
LOL!
I can almost hear Kurt saying, "Oh you're just going to make fun of how we sing? Great! Go for it! Whew, for a minute, I thought you were trying to make a fool of us."
I officially love this. That Madonna moment was funny- that he met her for 45 seconds irl and she's in the whole movie. 😆
It's perfect. 😆
💯 Comedy gold
Her becoming a drug kingpin was hilarious. 😂😂
Yeah because she’s pretty famously anti drug.
@@mrbleak9873 is she...?
Weird Al is a blessing to the world.
I decided to leave a comment because he makes the accordion cool
He sure is!!! He's always made me smile!!! Whats better than that!!
He who's tired of "Weird" Al is tried of life.

He sure is 😉
This man is a low-key legend. There aren't too many people in the last 40 years who have not heard of him.
We talked about this movie this weekend at a party with someone dressed as AL and this woman said she didn't know who he was, I've never seen a group of individuals express their disgust for someone collectively like that before lmao then she said she didn't know who Danielle was and my friends lost their minds. She's in her 30s and I'm like, where have you been for your life.
Then again I have people walk up to me and ask me what breed of dog my dog is, he's a German shepherd, bothers me if they're fucking with me or genuinely stupid. Also, it's basically daily and that disturbs me
@@anthonyzullo lol thats funny litterally any other dog breed i get not knowing immediatly but only huskys probably more famous
@@anthonyzullo I'd say stupid!
I adore Al. Met him 3 times after concerts where he graciously stayed after the show and signed things at his tour bus. Not only is he a genuinely sweet, sincere, and humble man, but so are his band members (and let's not forget that those band members have to play everything from polka to rap to country in their shows-- they are all *ridiculously* talented in their own right). They all stayed outside the bus too and signed stuff, talked to fans, and it was a blast-- even though they had a 6+ hour bus ride to their next show the next day and it was well after midnight when they got done. My love and admiration for Weird Al and Berm, Steve, Jim, and Ruben is unending and I hope they are able to tour for many, many years to come.
I just left a Weird Al concert at QPAC in Brisbane tonight. What an amazing man. He's so gifted.
I feel like Al moves through the world 1.5x speed faster than the rest of us.
Hopped up on goofballs!
@@materialmirage meaning he's goofy and funny. Maybe too much coffee
Possible you just have your video at 1.5x playback speed
I think he’s on the spectrum
@@no1nestandsalone387 I mean, I suppose it's possible.. But nothing wrong with that, in many cases that can be an advantage
When my son was a little boy one of his favorites was Weird Al. I surprised him with front row seats at a venue in Chicago when he was around 11. He told me I was the cool mom for taking him to see Weird Al. Weird Al put on a great show that night. If you get the chance see him in person. He never disappoints:)

You’re the coolest mom ever❤hope you’re both doing well.
I took my mom to see Weird Al once, and it was no joke one of the best shows I've ever seen. He is a shockingly adept performer, and positively hilarious.
I had an epically bad childhood and weird al made me live another day. I love this man.
Sorry to hear. Me, too.
Sorry to hear, i wish you both a good and long life from now on!
I am sorry you had a bad childhood Katie. Hopefully you got stronger for it.
I'm really sorry to hear that x x x
My own childhood was the same. Humor keeps us sane in this world. We need people like Al.
Everyone loves Weird Al. I’ve been a fan since I was a kid over 3 decades ago. Just a true gift to the world
Al is super kind ,friendly and respectful..he never swore in his entire life..dosent drink or smoke or does drugs..his band is super tight and he puts on on he'll of a show..
Weird Al was my first ever concert. I've been in over 1000 mosh pits since then, but I still remember that show. The rest of us don't deserve how amazing this man is. I love you, Weird Al.
Mine too! I was going to comment the same thing
Same, 1984 on the Tour of the Universe in 3-D Tour, and at least a dozen shows since. Now I'm taking my duaghter to his shows. Really hoping this wasn't the last tour.
Mister Derp? Dumbasses Egregiously Representing Penis-heads
ME TOO... My Ex got me tickets to see him... What an absolute legend!

Weird Al is what everyone in this world needs. I have LOVED his career. He is a blessing to this troubled world.
The man is such a misunderstood genius. Nice to see him.
Not misunderstood at all, he's just wierd. But still a genius.
63??? Omfg 🤣 he is awesome!!
What a legend!! Dude is playing the record label executive turning down HIMSELF in a movie they made about HIM. Been a fan since the 80s, keep it up you weirdo
I still wonder how they got all that hair under the wig. Lol
This man belongs in the music hall of fame. He’s a legend
Weird Al is extremely under-rated. The guy is a musical genius. So glad to see him on Fallon 😄
Underrated? He has five Grammy Awards and six Platinum records, and is the only celebrity I know that no one has said anything bad about. Like not one single hater, ever. I would say he is rated just right.
EDIT: Except for Coolio, R.I.P. But it was a misunderstanding and they were since friends.
If Weird Al is extremely underrated that makes The Beatles an Indie garage band and Michael Jackson just a street performer..
Weird Al went platinum like 5 decades in a row or something.
He’s got Grammys he ain’t underrated
He is highly rated.
😂
Weird Al Yankovic is a living legend. Considering him extremely underrated is hilarious.
I just got home from a Weird Al concert. We are so blessed to have this man alive the same time as us :-)
We saw Al and the band at Carnegie Hall, and they really knocked it out of the park. Third row dead center. The lighting, sound, and performance made it feel like Al was really singing his heart out just for us. Thanks so much for an incredible show!
Weird Al was such a huge part of my childhood. I'm really grateful that he made me smile so much =) So friggin talented and a genuinly decent human
First cassette tape here!
The Madonna reveal at 4:50 had me grinning from ear to ear. I love love love this idea
He's so cute and unapologetically nerdy after all this time and doesn't seem to have changed by fame one bit.
I saw Weird Al live in Kings Dominion shortly after Running with Scissors came out. During his song "One More Minute", Al started walking off stage and into the crowd. He had to rush back to finish the set and get ready for the next song, but on his way back to the stage, I held my hand out and he High Fived it in passing.
Best. Night. Ever.
You can tell when Jimmy is a true fan of his guest. He was totally geeked for this!!!
The fact that Al took something unconventional that he loves outside a normal life and mad a living off of it is inspiring. I remember listening to him on Dr. Domento as a kid.
I love this guy, a guy that doesn’t take himself and the world seriously
He takes his work and that's all that matters!
I was at the show at Carnegie Hall and it was genuinely an excellent experience. I stood through almost the entire show (which I could do because there was nobody seated behind me in the second tier balcony). Definitely a one-of-a-kind event that I knew I had to attend as soon as I knew it was happening. Can't wait for the movie!
Weird Al is one of the true greats. He absolutely belongs at Carnegie Hall.
Al's passion and enthusiasm for his craft is just fkn tops. I adore this man!!! I have a sibling who is developmentally disabled and when we were kids, it could be difficult to connect with them. But holy crap, did we play The Food Album on repeat and sing along together!! Some of my fondest memories include I Love Rocky Road and Addicted to Spuds 🤣🤣
Weird AL is a gem because he doesn't take himself or his career too seriously! He's got a great sense of humor!👨🦱🎤
I just realized Weird Al is the alternate personality of John Lithgow.
Fecking brilliant, I'd love to see those two do a parody or a skit together rotfl
@@laeinea That would be absolutely cool.
You bastard lol now I'll never unsee that.
I just realized he’s Bruce Campbell!? 😮😮😮
@@briancynn392 Bruce Lithgow 🤣
A certified genius. Anyone who can mash up Money For Nothing and The Ballad of Jed Clampett (“Swimmin’ pools, move-uh-move-uh movie stars!”) or make a Bob Dylan pastiche out of nothing but palindromes is on another level. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting him twice, and he is a genuinely honest and for true good guy.
Why is this man not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?
He certainly will be
He might be a star and the biggest of his genre but he’s still not viewed as a totally credible artist since he built his career on parodies rather than original works. That and he won’t get big enough ratings to satisfy the Rock Hall, not that anyone watches the show live.
Weird Al is a national treasure man we must protect him at all cost man.
I've been a fan of Weird Al almost as long as he's been making music, and UHF is criminally underrated! You know what's weird? Weird Al Yankovic is going to get a Yankovic bump from Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, lol
Him and John Lithgow might as well be twins. Also both geniuses, love em.
1980s, Weird Al cassette blaring, jumping on the bed, singing every word … good ol days 😂❤
When I’m feeling down. Or sad or depressed. I listen to Al. I have CZcams on and watch hours of his music video. Thank you Weird Al! ❤
His parody songs have been making me laugh since I was a child. Weird Al Yankovic is comedy royalty to me. Top 5 for sure...
I think the number of people who agreed to cameo shows just how respected Weird Al is.
Weird Al is a legend. The world is a better place for him.
If you think Weird Al should be inducted into the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame, LIKE this comment!
Not just the Hall of Fame. I've been saying for years that he needs to headline the Super Bowl
I'm surprised he isn't yet!😯
I disagree. Rock and roll hall of fame is garbage. They don't deserve Weird Al.
Ooh! Just to rif off the movie. It would be funny if the team Madonna did a song it two with him haha
@@andywhtwo000 That would be amazing! Hopefully next NFL season he'll be playing the halftime show if we create a buzz and keep putting the idea out there :)
When I first saw the trailer, I had almost completely forgotten about the parody trailer on FoD all those years back. After a few seconds of the trailer, it was clear that they just made the fake trailer into a movie, which is the most brilliant idea ever. I was so thrilled to see Eric Appell, as mentioned the director, still out there grinding every day for these.
As a once-I-tried-for-like-six-months-but-eventually-gave-up-because-i-was-bad filmmaker, I always struggled with my writing and making things "believable", which is why I so envy the idea of "Oh hey, lets just make it up!".
With very little original content coming out these days, it is so nice to see a brand new story being told, even if it is incredibly fake.
Saw him at his second show in Massachusetts. Was one of the best shows I saw this year
Such a great musician and great fashion taste! What a guy!
I had the honor and pleasure of meeting Weird Al after a concert, to have him sign my ticket stub and have a short conversation with him! That was one of the best nights of my life! Al is truly such a humble and down to earth person to talk to!
Only Weird Al could make Jimmy act like a normal human being.
I was going to say something similar and risk online ridicule. For once, Jimmy was knowledgeable, respectful, admiring and open. He didn't make it about himself and his "meformance." He made it about Weird Al and his enjoyment shared ours, instead of dominated or micromanaged. I was pleased with this moment, and have so much regard for Al. He is a conduit for good.
Jimmy is such a lying sack. He acts like he's seen the movie and loved it but he clearly didn't when Al verifies that the Madonna character is in the entire movie and it cracks Jimmy up because Jimmy clearly NEVER saw the movie 4:46
Jimmy must actually be a fan, he didn't spend the whole interview interrupting and fake cackle laughing like he usually does.
what, I didn't notice it.
It's funny, every time I see a negative comment about Jimmy Fallon, it's ALWAYS from a dude. I think men hate Jimmy because he doesn't fit their mold. He's nice and sweet and goofy, and women adore him. Other men be jealous AF.
He is a national treasure. Saw him play with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra at the Ravinia festival and it was AMAZING! He is really an incredible performer.
I work at Carnegie Hall and I met his wife that night, and she seemed like the most lovely person ever! Can only imagine he’s the same.
All the wigs in that scene.. oh my gosh… 😂 stop
The smartest and most underrated artist and comedian. He is the GOAT
His shows are absolutely incredible. I don' t care if you're into noise-rock, hip-hop, punk, opera, afro-cuban drums, cumbia, blah blah blah....it will be one of the best shows you ever see. Pure joy and probably the most diverse crowd you'll ever encounter.
I feel like Dan not looking like Al adds to the parody of the biopic tbh
“I hope I get a Rassie!” Everyone knows, if he does, he will be up there to proudly accept and will give the most genuine, sincere speech.
Can anyone even remember a time without Weird Al? Seriously, what did we do before he came around? Music became infinitely better because of his parodies.
What is it? More than 40 years of music right?
I remember being a little kid, like 4 or 5 and hearing both the Queen version "Another one Bites the Dust" and the Weird Al "Another One Rides the Bus" playing on the radio. Saw him live a few years ago, and is one of the best shows I've ever seen. Amazing talent.
He wasn't that popular around the world till CZcams. Yes he produced music before then but the vast majority of the world never heard it
@@imSUPPRESED I disagree. There was life b4 YT, and Weird Al amassed millions of fans all the way back to early releases on the Dr Dimento Show. His parodies got lotsa radio play. YT and modern tech has just made his shows better and his work more widely accessible.
Dr Dimento was around before him. Lots of “acts” got playing time on radio before YT was even a dream.
Weird Al is the greatest musical and comedy genius of this or any other age.
I recently took my nephews to see Weird Al and they loved the show. Emo Phillips even used my younger nephew as a punchline in his opening act.
The world needs more Weird Al’s now more than ever.
We saw Weird Al in Loughlin, NV as VIP's for my son's 18th birthday. Such a treat - and the best birthday present ever for Marcus (we enjoyed ourselves immensely, and we were starstruck). Al is a national treasure and a super-cool guy.
The guy just makes you feel good
Al is so humble and spot on!
Weird Al is so lovable, did I mention he didn't even age after 30 years?
My childhood idol. Saw Al at the OC fair in the early 2000s. His energy is astounding. "Love you brother from another mother" ❤🎉
what a wonderful dude! I have loved him since I was a little girl
Or little boy in your case

I felt comfortable saying that to you because it's obviously not the case... you're very pretty and clearly don't look like a guy at all. I really like your hair it looks nice.... and I'm sorry.
Madonna needs to meet up with Weird Al and watch the movie together.
I still can't believe Al was assassinated back in 1985. I can remember exactly where I was at that moment, watching the awards show on my couch. Rest in paradise Alfred!
🎵😊🎵
I am a long term fan of Weird Al and enjoyed his many songs. I only got to see him live one time at an amusement park in Pennsylvania but due to the crowd did not get a seat in the stadium to see him. Well I still got to see parts of the show in a weird way. It happened that at this park their ski lift type of ride ran past a good portion of where he was performing. So my friend and I just kept getting on the ride and lucky for us there was no line for the ride. So we saw a good portion of his show from an elevated seat going by the performance area !
Such a great guy. The world is a better place because of him.
This movie was just unadulterated joy. Been a fan of weird Al over 30 years
I heard the Weird Al Nirvana parody before even knowing who Nirvana were! LOL Love you Weird Al!
I've met Al a few times and the rumors are true...he is the nicest guy on the planet. And should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. And should do the Superbowl Halftime Show.
Weird Al deserves this biopic! And he's still so positive and enthusiastic and brilliant! I am totally looking forward to this movie!
I counted down the days until I could watch this movie and it was EFFING BRILLIANT. Bring back parodies and silly fun like this, please! I will be watching it again. Daniel Radcliffe and the cast were amazing.
His song.. "One more minute" is a masterpiece and the ultimate breakup song😂 I've loved it and keeps listening to it since the 90s😅
All over youtube I see comments about his concerts being the best shows people have ever seen. It's so true.
I hope to be this jolly and silly at 63
I always look back at the times when Weird Al was on top of the world. You knew an artist was doing well when Weird Al would spoof one of their most popular songs at that time. He made you look at music in a different kind of way and made you appreciate both, him and the original artist.
Truly a legend !
I watched this movie the first moment I saw it pop up on my Roku TV. Like, no hesitation. Loved it!
Brilliant. For as long as I can remember (47 years young), Weird Al has been parodying the biggest songs....hilarious and timeless every time too.
Holy shit is he hyper, especially for 63!
If you had told me in the 80s that this guy would end up being a National Treasure and gain so much respect I would have laughed at you. I enjoyed his parodies but didn’t seem like something that could be sustained. Mad props to Al. He is a true talent. Also….bring on the UHF sequel.
I didn't even recognize that was him in the movie! 🤣
I thought he was silly years ago….but now older and wiser he is quite a genius… and a sweet kind soul.
Parody of a parody of a padody :)
We all get mellow as we age. He seems an interesting man for sure.
@@winnied87 I wish people knew that more than half of the songs on Al's 14 studio albums are his incredible originals.
His last 2 tours were only his original songs and I loved it!!! Al is an amazing musician, lyricist and performer.

My partner and I saw him in San Antonio this past September. Great show! 🤩
massive smile on my face throughout this interview - what a gem!!
One of the most energetic concerts I've seen
I was watching his Behind The Music last night, and he said that it was disappointing that UHF didn't do better (which is crazy b/c UHF is total classic), that's why I'm so happy that Weird is a big hit for him, he deserves to bask in that happiness!
I've listened to him back in the Dr. Demento days where he got his start. Genius.
Saw him twice when I was a kid about 25 years ago. He puts on such a unique and great show. Totally worth seeing regardless of what kind of music you like.
I have seen Al twice, and I agree some of the best shows I've ever seen.
Weird Al movie is effin' hilarious. I've watched it three times. Still makes me LOL.
I still remember listening to Dr. Demento and this weird kid sent in a cassette tape of him playing one his parodies on an accordion. A star was born that night.
If there was a Letter Above A lister... Al would be it. He is special special human...and one of the most gifted entertainers of all time... of all time in history. .. So good to see him still on 🔥 after all this time.
Weird Al Yankovich is so funny, I love that he's still as hilarious as in the eighties!❤😂 I MUST see that film!
It's on Roku for free fyi
I remember moving back to California my sophomore year in high school in 1997. Some family friends took us to his show in the Bay Area and he signed autographs afterwards. I remember saying to the person next to me I just moved from AZ, and Weird Al’s friend was sweet and she joined in and said she was from there and shook my hand. I got an autograph after that and thanked Weird Al. It was a great night!
I love how "Weird" Al is the least weird person in showbiz.
