ADDRESS: Guayama, Puerto Rico
INTERVIEWEE: Hector
🇵🇷PIGEON POPPERS: Add cream cheese to a halved jalapeño. Add in pigeon breast. Wrap in bacon and grill for 15 minutes.
🇵🇷FRIED IGUANA WITH TOSTONES (FRIED PLANTAIN): mix together all-purpose flour, oregano, salt, and Sazon Goya (coriander, garlic, cumin, and annatto). Dip the iguana into the flour mixture. Place in hot oil until fried.
🇵🇷GRILLED TAIL: Season tail with salt, garlic powder, oregano, and seasoning. Grill for 20 minutes, adding BBQ sauce and flipping.
🇵🇷IGUANITAS: Shred boiled iguana.Mix the batter, then scoop and place it in hot oil for a few moments.

i follow on youtube an american guy that live in Arecibo that hunts them with his dogs. An iguana whipped one of his dog and it needed stiches. didnt even knew the were that strong lol.

In Trinidad 🇹🇹 the iguana is curried. Hey Sonny, I have a cousin that can take you on a wild meat hunt which includes Iguana and also other strange game (Agouti, Manicou, etc). Also I have another cousin who can take you on a pretty awesome fishing experience. He once had me swim out with a boogie board into the middle of a deep bay, dropped a line, then left me because he forgot his knife. He told me when I feel a tug pull the fish up. He told me we were catching barracuda. Sadly, I chickened out and pulled up the line before he returned.
I will never know if I would have been a great boogie board fisherman. 🎣 🏄♂️

@@dirtyfiendswithneedles3111 Good Day 💉 Mr. Needles. I've never watched the India channel. My only concern with that type of unregulated commerce is hygiene. I would try the food in a restaurant with a place to wash your hands and utensils.
I love that I get to experience so many different cultures and their food. Sonny has such a natural easy going funny personality, you always highlight the warmth of people and human dignity. It's why your videos are such a treat for myself and millions of others.
Oro is great, Sonny and Oro play off eachother very well.
This was such a fun episode for me. I'm from Trinidad and Tobago where we also have Morning Doves and Iguanas. We don't eat the doves here but Iguana is considered a 'wild meat' delicacy. It's usually curried or stewed here so it was really awesome seeing the unique ways it's prepared in another Caribbean island! And I missed seeing Sonny and Oro together; they're a wonderfully hilarious duo.

You can do that in Florida too. Iguanas are spreading like crazy they’re and doing just as much damage. Go in the Spring or fall when it gets cooler at night because in the mornings, they will be out in the sun trying to warm up. Makes it easier to get them. Southern Florida and check regulations in the counties and cities because some have weird restrictions. Most don’t, but it’s better safe than sorry.

Florida is suffering the same problems as Puerto Rico with this invasive species and the GOV offers licenses, and bounties, to try to control them. The same for Anacondas.

I feel like the Western Hemisphere has too little understanding of the amazing animal proteins not being utilized. Ostrich is number 1 on my list; it's the best of chicken and beef while providing the best nutritional benefits of both meats.
The skin is definitely edible. Use fire to singe it then scrape it with a knife while it still hot. Wash properly. Chop then seasoned. Put it in the pot and let it steam Cook until tender. Finish Cooking with coconut milk and dumplings.
The doves are mourning doves, not morning doves. The sound they make sounds like they are crying.

I live in Puerto Rico and I love that you did an episode on this topic. However, where we live in Pinones the iguanas do have a predator.... the wild dogs.. some strays become beggars others become hunters ... I have witnessed these hunter wild dogs work together to draw out Iguanas and come out successfully with a huge Iguana in mouth 😳. The cooking and selling of Iguana is not officially regulated and approved here in PR but Here in Pinones they do have a few kiosks that sell Iguana pastellios/empanadas. Next time you have to come check out the caiman cousin of the croc/gator ... they have become invasive on the island in the rivers and brackish waters.They are now being hunted and eaten to help with the overpopulation.
