    I found that on 15a service for a/c, turn system to fan first and let fan kick on, wait about 15 seconds then quickly change to cool but not to auto. Do not turn on any other appliance to electric as that will trip the breaker.

    RV Airflow is made out of dense foam, not plastic. I purchased one and installed it myself. It greatly improved the airflow in my RV.

    Love these Q&A sessions! My rig came with (2) Coleman 13,500 BTU "Power Saver" A/C's and I have had no problem running one on a 15A circuit at home. Works great for keeping it cool overnight.

    Thanks for the answers to my question sent in last week… Have two Victron multi-plus 12/3000/120-50 120 V inverters, that yes, program each inverter to a limit of 15amps when hooked to 30 amp service. Even when on 50amp service I usually have set at 17amps and have not had any problems. Thanks again for taking time to answer my question…and the mistake I made about if your a 50 amp trailer…😂 😀

    Fire cracker Tuesday Todd! 🎉 On the first question. which I never heard of, how would you get your mixture in the water tank in a 6 gal Atwood? If you have a problem with scale build up, it would be in your pump filter. In order to get that mixture in, you would have to turn the bypasses on and take the pressure valve off then put your mixture in, which would be a pain in that thing you sit on. Just buy a tank flusher and do it once a season. WaLa! 😃

    Could you explain more about your comment about the (soft start) helping or not, plugging into an (home) outlet?
    I have one rooftop AC I do have a built-in generator which I don’t like to use because it’s very noisy and right underneath the bed. I occasionally use a small 2000 W generator plugged in with a heavy duty cord located away from the coach.

    Was wondering why people hate so much when i tell them about the 4 days the wife and i spent in our rv running our entire trailer off of the F150 30amp connection? Everything ran perfectly for 4 days in 90 degree Florida weather after the Hurricane. It was literally a plug and play with a plug adaptor and using the same cable just like plugging into shorepower at a site.

    I watch lots of video on rv's. I've yet to see anyone talk about doing maintenance or trouble shoot on hydraulic leveling hacks. How to use them automatically by pressing one button or used them individually. Also when the rv is stored should we put the Jack's down or not. Thank you guys.

    Certainly enjoy your vids, but you biffed Question #2 about the AC.
    They were asking about cutting the slats out of the shroud on the roof and adding expanded mesh to decrease resistance/turbulence on the condenser exhaust.

    Hey Todd! Regarding receptacles in garages, NEC has required those to also be GFCI for the last 15 years. Switching from an outside GFCI outlet that is tripping to one in the garage will still leave the system on a GFCI if the construction was built to the newer code.

    Not sure I fully understand how a "soft start" works. I installed one myself to insure we'll have cool air during this summers 5 month journey during the summer months at campgrounds with only 30 amp availability. We only have a single small Brisk air Dometic. It doesn't slow the start up in-rush??

    This may not be the correct venue but I have a question regarding a propane electric fridge. You preach about how unsafe it is to travel with the propane on. How does the Fridge stay cool when traveling?

    My problem is, the instant hot water tank only flows when the pump is on? Does that make sense? When hooked to city water we need the pump on using up the fresh water tank water to get hot water. what is your advice? .

    I believe per NEC garages should also be GFCI (basements too).....

    • @NationalRVTrainingAcademy
      @NationalRVTrainingAcademy  Před rokem +1

      You’ll find GFCI in most garages too. It’s best to avoid running your RV off a single 15a outlet if you’re trying to run your AC.

    Question about the first question 🤔 .
    If I drain the heater tank before I put the 30% vinegar in , should I put a gallon of water in the tank to dilute the 30% gallon ? Then add another 3+ gallons of water ?

  • @richardprince2623

    On the constantly running water pump.
    Mine does this when I first turn it on, and I have to go out and pull the T&P valve until water comes out. Otherwise, it won't pressurize. Maybe that will resolve the commenter's issue.

    • @NationalRVTrainingAcademy
      @NationalRVTrainingAcademy  Před rokem

      Are you emptying your water heater?

    • @richardprince2623
      @richardprince2623 Před rokem +1

      @NationalRVTrainingAcademy not really. I turn the pump off, and I open the cold and hot water valves on one of my sinks for a few seconds to relieve pressure. Makes me wonder if the check valve in the pump lets water back into my fresh water tank between camping trips. It holds pressure, just on that initial start it seems it won't shut off until I make sure the water heater is filled.

    Todd,
    You should never try and run your ac off a 15amp home outlet! Extension cords cause a voltage drop as well as the plug itself. Folks that try to short-cut things in this way are risking their ac units. Get the proper 50am plug installed and don't risk it!
