    Really helpful! One question though, on a fabric item like this, can it be heat-set after drying using an iron (dry setting of course) rather than a heat gun?

    • @AngelusBrand
      @AngelusBrand  Před 2 lety +3

      Of course! we recommend that you lay some type of fabric (towel) in between the item and the iron. No more than a 1 minute press to start.

    • @AngelusBrand
      @AngelusBrand  Před 4 lety +8

      Each person does it their own way but we would recommend heat setting after each coat.

  • @gustavogarcia3155
    @gustavogarcia3155 Před 4 lety +3

    Do we gotta use the heat gun after every step or can we paint on top of a freshly painted surface. For example, I saw that for the glasses, the base was black, but then you put white stripes across it to make streaks, would we have to wait for the black to dry before we add the white onto that same surface or can we put the white paint over the black paint as soon as we have painted on the black? (Sorry if my wording dosent make sense)

    • @AngelusBrand
      @AngelusBrand  Před 4 lety +2

      No worries, your question makes sense. So, for your example, allow the black paint to fully dry then apply the white paint. There are techniques when blending the paints and creating gradients that will cause for the paint to still be wet but for the most part, allow each coat to fully dry before continuing.

    So is it necessary to put 2 soft in the paint when your adding your colors if you already did the white and 2 soft base coat cause I'm doing some jogger shorts and I already have the base coat down for the image I just need to know if it's necessary to add 2 soft to my other colors

    • @AngelusBrand
      @AngelusBrand  Před 3 lety +2

      This is upon personal preference when doing detail work. Some artists use 2-soft for detailing some do not. Whatever you are more comfortable doing. As long as you applied the base layers with 2-soft you should be okay. However, just make sure you do not apply too many coats or it can experience chipping and cracking.

      2-soft for the other colors

    • @AngelusBrand
      @AngelusBrand  Před 4 lety

      On this project 2-Soft was only used for the White base coat however, you may use it for the other colors as well. 2-Soft thins out the paint leaving it a bit more challenging to paint details. We recommend using 2-Soft as much as possible when working on fabrics but it may be something to experiment with from project to project.

  • @xxxrealchiggaxxx9997
    @xxxrealchiggaxxx9997 Před 4 lety

    do u put 2 soft in all the paint

    • @AngelusBrand
      @AngelusBrand  Před 4 lety

      You can. We suggest using 2-Soft for as much as you can. For this specific project he only used 2-Soft for the base coats and larger portions of the design. For the details he just used the paint straight from the bottle. Adding 2-Soft will thin the paint making it a little more difficult for the detail work.

  • @3cdesignz152
    @3cdesignz152 Před 4 lety +1

    That’s dope. One question though. Do you have to add 2 soft to all the paint or just the base coat?

    • @salinajono3512
      @salinajono3512 Před 4 lety

      Only the base coat.

    • @Liz_ArdE
      @Liz_ArdE Před 4 lety

      Definitely the base coat and with any large areas amounts of paint, small details don't need 2-soft. 2-soft's main purpose is to keep the fabric flexible and therefore keep the paint on the fabric, so just think about if an area of paint would keep the fabric from flexing.

    • @AngelusBrand
      @AngelusBrand  Před 4 lety +1

      It may depend on what you are working on. Some customizes choose not to add 2-Soft while painting detailed areas. The fabric medium can sometimes thin the paint and make it more difficulty to get solid control of the paint. We recommend using 2-soft for as much as you can but having the base coat should help. You may need to experiment and see what works best for you and your project. Let us know if you have any more questions.

      I can freehand well, but I am doing a Sailor Moon + Chibi design - I also have a Cricut, so I transferred the photo/design to a vinyl stencil. I have airbrushed a light blue background with GAC 900 mixed in onto the denim jacket, and heat set that. Today I laid out the sticky vinyl stencil over that, and I'm airbrushing a light grey on the stencil, to just give me the basic layout and outline of my characters -- then I'm filling in the complete design by hand, and will heat-ser each colour as I go. Then a final sealing - which I'll need to pick up.

      It will depend on the colors used at times. Some finishes are duller than others.

      The good thing about our paints is if you add a fabric medium to the paint. It will soak into the fabric. Purposely so that you are able to wear it and wash it. You should be able to treat it like any normal piece of clothing you're washing. 😀

    What kind of hot gun should I use? Is 112℉~1202℉(44℃- 650℃ or 572℉~932℉ (300℃-500℃) or 122℉~1112℉(50℃- 600℃)enough heat?

      You only want to heat it to a comfortable tolerable heat on your hand. More than that could melt the glue/paint/shoe.
