Hello! Good video! I want to know what the ratio of the 2-soft and the paint. Thanks!
Really helpful! One question though, on a fabric item like this, can it be heat-set after drying using an iron (dry setting of course) rather than a heat gun?
Of course! we recommend that you lay some type of fabric (towel) in between the item and the iron. No more than a 1 minute press to start.
WoW ❤ How many White Color u need for this Custom?😌
Do you heat set each individual layer? Or just when you have the final layer?
Each person does it their own way but we would recommend heat setting after each coat.
Do we gotta use the heat gun after every step or can we paint on top of a freshly painted surface. For example, I saw that for the glasses, the base was black, but then you put white stripes across it to make streaks, would we have to wait for the black to dry before we add the white onto that same surface or can we put the white paint over the black paint as soon as we have painted on the black? (Sorry if my wording dosent make sense)
No worries, your question makes sense. So, for your example, allow the black paint to fully dry then apply the white paint. There are techniques when blending the paints and creating gradients that will cause for the paint to still be wet but for the most part, allow each coat to fully dry before continuing.
custom hoodie tutorials please
Hello! Your video is dope. The jacket is 🔥🔥 So, when mixing, it's even the amount of whatever color is used and 2 soft, correct? Leather acrylic paint with 2 soft?
When using 2-Soft, yes, we recommend a 1:1 ratio! 😃
Try the boxing gloves next time, I feel like it'd make for an interesting custom, maybe a punch out theme or something
Dope but it’s easier to base coat the entire area your painting 1st then sketch then add color.
Same
Yeah for sure. It's best to avoid going back and repeating steps if you can. Every projects and artist is different so it's important to find out what workflow works best for you.
Starting my first denim jacket with all angelus products but I don’t have flat white so could I use normal white to mix with 2-soft for the foundation/prep?
Yes! You can use either White or Flat White - both will work perfectly fine!
So is it necessary to put 2 soft in the paint when your adding your colors if you already did the white and 2 soft base coat cause I'm doing some jogger shorts and I already have the base coat down for the image I just need to know if it's necessary to add 2 soft to my other colors
This is upon personal preference when doing detail work. Some artists use 2-soft for detailing some do not. Whatever you are more comfortable doing. As long as you applied the base layers with 2-soft you should be okay. However, just make sure you do not apply too many coats or it can experience chipping and cracking.
DOPE. Are you able to wash this regularly?
Hey there! I would avoid washing often, it's best to hand wash or dry clean!
Did you use acrylic finisher in the end?
No, usually we don't recommend finisher on fabric materials.
What colour paint was used for the skin tone? It's hard to tell on the online colour chart which would be true to cartoons like Rick and Morty/Futurama/Family Guy etc
It's a mix of colors. May be something to experiment with more but try Play in the Sand, Beige, Salomon and some Light Brown and White.
if i wanted to paint denim jordan 6 black, is it the same process; 1:1 mix 2 soft and black paint?
Kei Kuruno as long as it’s true denim, it should be fine. When paint I find that denim with less than 60% cotton is harder to paint
Hey, can i use angelus matte acrylic finisher on a custom jeans?
Some people do use a finisher on custom denim, but normally we just recommend spraying a couple coats of Water & Stain Repellent 😃
I'm confused, you mixed flat white and 2-soft, while in another video made by angelus brand the presenter used only flat white, also in another video the presenter used 2-soft mixed with white.
Which do you think is best??
I'm just so confused, I don't know which to follow.
What is that skinny skinny brush you used to outline?
It looks like one of our micro detail brushes. angelusdirect.com/products/angelus-micro-detail-paint-brush-set
Damn your Sweatshirt
Is it okay to use another brand of fabric paint and the angelus water and stain repellent?
Sure. Water and Stain can be used for pretty much any type of surfaces... Painted or not. Water and Stain is used to protect the surface from dirt and water and should be applied ever so often.
The real question is how will it hold up in the washer, I've been wanting to do a jean jacket custom but that's the only thing preventing me
DaBoy_Tay b
The paint prob wouldn't but you could prob just hand wash it and avoid the paint and just let it air dry
With the finisher is actually does, but don't wash too much and wash on delicate, check my channel I put mine in the washer
HEAT SET artwork for permanency before wearing/washing/etc ... wash on DELICATE or INSIDE OUT or in a GARMENT BAG (or all three) ... dry on low, remove when slightly damp, air dry the rest, & you may want to IRON on inside & out ... GOOD LUCK!
As long as the paints and jacket are prepped properly then everything should hold up nicely. If your concerned with putting the jacket in the washing machine then hand washing is will work.
How do you keep the paint from bleeding through to the other side (inside of jacket)
The paint is going to bleed through... we suggest putting a smooth hard surface underneath to avoid getting paint on the jacket or table you are working on. Usually cardboard, cutting mat or something similar will work.
Can you customize rivaly low adidas with just markers???
Yes of course, that's up to you to get creative with it.
So you only need 2-soft on the base layer?
You can use it on all, but lots of people like to use this technique as it is easier to get clean lines when not using 2-Soft on detail work.
Will the paint come off after you wash it?
No, the paint will not come off. Make sure to prep correctly and apply really light layers and you should be good to go.
how many coats of the repellent do you need?
Apply 2-3 even coats to the desired area. . Allow about 30 minutes of dry time in between coats and let completely dry before wear (at least 12 hours).
The you used soft white for the other colors too ?
2-soft for the other colors
On this project 2-Soft was only used for the White base coat however, you may use it for the other colors as well. 2-Soft thins out the paint leaving it a bit more challenging to paint details. We recommend using 2-Soft as much as possible when working on fabrics but it may be something to experiment with from project to project.
do u put 2 soft in all the paint
You can. We suggest using 2-Soft for as much as you can. For this specific project he only used 2-Soft for the base coats and larger portions of the design. For the details he just used the paint straight from the bottle. Adding 2-Soft will thin the paint making it a little more difficult for the detail work.
That’s dope. One question though. Do you have to add 2 soft to all the paint or just the base coat?
Only the base coat.
Definitely the base coat and with any large areas amounts of paint, small details don't need 2-soft. 2-soft's main purpose is to keep the fabric flexible and therefore keep the paint on the fabric, so just think about if an area of paint would keep the fabric from flexing.
It may depend on what you are working on. Some customizes choose not to add 2-Soft while painting detailed areas. The fabric medium can sometimes thin the paint and make it more difficulty to get solid control of the paint. We recommend using 2-soft for as much as you can but having the base coat should help. You may need to experiment and see what works best for you and your project. Let us know if you have any more questions.
What colors did you use for the skin
He started with Play in the Sand and added White for the highlights and some browns for the shadows.
What colors were used to paint Rick's hair?
The main color is Pale Blue. May have to mix some colors for any highlights and shadows.

can a blow dryer be used if i don’t have a heating gun?
Yes! You absolutely can use a blow dryer instead. However, a heat gun will give off more heat than a blow dryer so if you plan on getting into customizing then we always suggest investing in a heat gun eventually.
for denim jackets, which one, do you guys recommend more gac 900 or 2 soft?
because i already have gac 900
No actually, both will do the same job! If you have GAC-900 then use that.
@@AngelusBrand is the 2 soft safer than the gac 900 for clothing? It’s because the bottle says that the state of California says there’s a chemical known to cause cancer... i use the gac for shoes but i haven’t for clothing because of that reason....
@@uzuchihajoha5274 They are both fabric mediums. So basically the same ingredients in both. 2-soft is just an Angelus brand product. We always suggest making sure you wear at least a pair of gloves when mixing and painting. Just to be safe.
@@AngelusBrand oh okay, i understand, i always wear gloves so i guess i was on the right path hahaha, well thank you so much for responding!🙏🏽
is there a video on how to transfer drawings to jackets (leather, denim... etc.). We can't draw a circle... :-)
I can freehand well, but I am doing a Sailor Moon + Chibi design - I also have a Cricut, so I transferred the photo/design to a vinyl stencil. I have airbrushed a light blue background with GAC 900 mixed in onto the denim jacket, and heat set that. Today I laid out the sticky vinyl stencil over that, and I'm airbrushing a light grey on the stencil, to just give me the basic layout and outline of my characters -- then I'm filling in the complete design by hand, and will heat-ser each colour as I go. Then a final sealing - which I'll need to pick up.
I tried to paint a denim jacket the other day, and had a problem with the paint being bleeding after I followed the instructions in this video, any idea why this might be happening?
You are applying too many coats and applying too much paint. Light coats and proper dry times is key!
What if we don't have a heat gun, can i just let it dry or use a blow dryer?
Some people have used a blow dryer. However, it is recommend for it to reach 300 degrees F for 3-5 mins.
So what greens is he using?
Combinations of Angelus Green and Light Green.
@@AngelusBrand Thank you so much, it helps a lot. Thank you for reading my comment and replying to me as soon as you did. You guys are awesome!
Can you use this paint on a polyester coat
Email us at info@angelusdirect.com we can assist you better there!
What color did u use for their faces
The artist mixed some paints together to achieve the colors of their skin. Unfortunately we do not have that mix he used.
Angelus Shoe Polish do u think I could replicate a similar color for a dragon ball z cartoon custom using beige
For the faces*
More of R AND M?
How come when I painted it didn’t come out shiny?
It will depend on the colors used at times. Some finishes are duller than others.
how about cotton shirts 🥺?
Yep. Same process.
Do you have a solution to buy paint from France ?
Hey there! Try this place, www.adam18.com
@@AngelusBrand ok this website the price is like 60 dollars for a starter kit...
Try leatherpaint.co.uk, they're based in the Netherlands. The have the basic kit for €37.49
Here's another link that may help.

Dope but it’s easier to base coat the entire area your painting 1st then sketch
I would try to do it but my biggest fear is that it might come off when I wash it
The good thing about our paints is if you add a fabric medium to the paint. It will soak into the fabric. Purposely so that you are able to wear it and wash it. You should be able to treat it like any normal piece of clothing you're washing. 😀
you can tell how much such work on a jacket costs?
Feel free to contact the artist directly. His info is located in the description. Thanks for watching!

What kind of hot gun should I use? Is 112℉~1202℉(44℃- 650℃ or 572℉~932℉ (300℃-500℃) or 122℉~1112℉(50℃- 600℃)enough heat?
You only want to heat it to a comfortable tolerable heat on your hand. More than that could melt the glue/paint/shoe.
@@AngelusBrand Thank you. I was planning to use it on a blue jeans jacket. I appreciate the tip. It will be my first time to use a heat gun.
