I promise you this , the more you dive into bts music and learn about them. You start to understand why their huge . And have a little More respect for them . I’m NOT asking you to be a huge fan of them , but understand the “why and how factor “
Bts is more then just a kpop group , more then just a boyband who caters to just teenage girls ( FYI their fanbase is diverse of all ages and race ) their a movement! BTS is huge is because they separate themselves from other kpop groups . They want their music to inspire change , motivate people and spread positivity. And challenge societal norms / stereotypes. The English translation of their korean name is “Bullet proof boy scouts “
BTS isn’t just currently the biggest kpop group right now , their the biggest GROUP AND BOYBAND in the world right now out beating current mainstream American artists and groups . Ironically some bts fan don’t like them being labeled as a “boyband” because usually comes with negative comments and people thinking they don’t write their own music but the reality is BTS actually write their own music and produce. They have had members who produce music for other artists in Korea as well. Also what’s funny some fans don’t like to box bts as “kpop group “ because of how much accomplishments and impact they made not just for themselves but for kpop community , American music industry and Asian Artists in general .
Their name connects to their music. Bts is respected because they tackle a lot of issues and societal problems that occur within Korea that also RELATES to anyone in the world. Korea is known for mental health and suicide issues. It’s considered to be TABOO to bring up sensitive topics like this. You have to understand the country is very strict and conservative. BTS music tackles topics such as mental health, suicide, depression, addiction, parent abuse , anxiety, generation gap and differences between the old generation and new young generation, corrupt , academic system And teaching people about self love and self respect , self care . Their music connects to all ages/ gender : men , women , boy, girls . Which is why their fanbase is huge and VERY DIVERSE. So please don’t think their fanbase is just teenage girls .
Overall , BTS is popular and highly respected because they work hard to become more then just a pop group , but a positive inspiration . They show music has the power to transcend and translate messages regardless of AGE, gender, race or religion .
Highly recommend checking out these articles cause it helps explain what their music is about and breaks down their song meanings

Black Swan should be next. The musical diversity is going to shock you. I appreciate your reaction and i agree with everything you said. We love bts for many reasons. They brought back live shows and performance. They are true artists. They make their own music and it doesn't get better than that, especially when you observe the lyricism. They truly know what they're doing. We are so glad they're getting the recognition they deserve. Believe it or not, they came from nothing. And it's all because of hard work. How can anyone be mad at that you know?. Thank you again for checking them out. Means alot to us fans💜

Jungkook’s intro verse is giving me bruno mars or Michael Jackson vibes!!. His raspy vocals were insane and clear. He was completely feeling himself rocking that retro concept🔥. Letting him start off the song was such a smart move, it will get you hooked up instantly. His pronunciation was also so good almost like a native speaker. His high note and his adlibs towards the end are spot on. He really deserves his main singer position🔥👌. He might be the youngest, but he is so incredibly multitalented☺️.

Bts is very diverse in their genre so they do have tracks that have multiple nuances and slight diss. Especially if it's the rappers'individual solo mixtapes. They have a lot of rnb, hiphop, edm, ballads, emo, sarcastic/novelty/political songs too. They're know for their intense synchronized choreo and deep meaning lyrics. A lot of symbolism in their videos and theatrical and cultural appeal. It depends on their mood or concept. Plus they are unapologetically Korean, so the korean slang or wordplay exists in their bars as well. Oh and all of them can produce songs so all7 of them are very much involved in the creative process of their music. 😊 i'm sure the comments section will be flooded with suggestions so just ask them what type of genre you're leaning towards. 😊 thanks for checking the MV 💜

They are not your typical boyband. To fully appreciate them, you have to check out their extensive discography. BTS music is genre-agnostic. They're brilliant lyricists , great performers and still in their twenties. They are so good , the US music industry doesn't know what to do with them!😅💜

Hi, some things about this boys.
*Bts Is south Korean group, this days people prefer don't mix them with kpop. Kpop is just a label to say that everything that comes out of Korea is that (false) bts is not considered kpop because of its great repertoire of genres and that it does not follow the same line of the kpop industry.
    1. They are 7, 4 vocalist, 3 rappers (2 underground rappers) all dancers
    2. Bts compose and produce their own music, so is very personal, they talk about mental health, politics, society, their fans, self love, etc
    3. They have a story behind their videos so is difficult to new people understand, we (the armys) used to read a several books and study set, philosophy, psychology and mythology to understand. Their last album for example was "map of the soul: 7" and is inspired by the psychologist book the map of the soul by Murray.
    4. The army love them because they are good people who through a lot of bad things to be where they are now, and even being famous they stay humble.
    5. They have a lot of genres but their base is very hiphop / rap. Also you can find subtitles in every possible language thanks to the fans, u only need to search with the name of the song.
**Bts always present themselves as a Korean group, and always said they don't want to be labeled in a genre or industry. The fans also do not want to be mixed with kpopers, (most of us aren't kpop fans) we don't have the same ideals

There's no beef among the groups with BTS. This is a 70's retro MV concept. They don't usually dress like this (70's style). They even have hard music (ie rap cyphers) but not provocative. Tae aka V of BTS did very sexy MV and stage performances without revealing much skin. Actually all of them can do have that sexy/cute vibe. Why? because of their excellent dancing and vocals. Check out "On", "Black Swan", "Chicken Noodle Soup", "Blood Sweat and Tears", "Serendipity", "Singularity", "Euphoria" "Agust D", "Mic Drop", "Fire", "Ma City", "Dope", "Truth Untold" "BTS cyphers 1,2,3" is just a start to see their wide ranging talent and music styles. Their concert performances of each of these songs are even more spectacular.

  • @cynaken
    @cynaken Před 3 lety +37

This song is very poppy and uplifting because BTS have said they want to impart a message of hope during these times in the world, not because Korea's music is censored and family friendly. Korea is just definitely way more conservative. This is just one song from one artist guys cmon! LOL. It's like watching the uptown funk mv and coming to the conclusion that America is very bubblegum, colorful, and fun (words I would never use to describe America btw LOL) I forgive you though.
If you want to see much more darker/deeper themes from BTS, ur in for a ride because that's what BTS are known for. Touching upon topics such as mental health, the struggles of youth and growing up to face temptation and corruption, with songs that are socially conscious and very very philosophical. Their whole latest album is about the theory of the "Map of the Soul" made by philosopher Carl Jung and yes, their album is called "Map of the Soul".
As for the censorship, Korea does not compare to the West when it comes to music being about sex & partying because Korea is way more conservative, but trust me, there is a lot of songs about sex, partying, and etc there, probably not as straightforward though. (BTS has these type of songs too, just not as a title track and not as blunt). There's censorship for porn in korea that's all i know lmfao. There's much more censorship on their television rather than the internet. They blur out tattoos, weapons, and cigarettes on their TV.
If you guys want to know the basics of BTS, I HIGHLY recommend this introduction to them. This is more about their journey as artists and how their dynamic is like, their friendship, what their name means, etc.
    Here's the link! : czcams.com/video/3cESARetI9U/video.html
If you guys want a good look of the basics of their MUSIC. I recommend this video as a guide to their discography. Their album themes and trilogies are very complex so I really recommend you watch this. This video is also kinda of an introduction but they showcase the group's history, their first achievements, and most importantly, they generally describe each BTS album trilogy/era and the message they want to send out for each.
    Link: czcams.com/video/M40jsKiIcm8/video.html
If you do not want to react to both, I personally would recommend the first video I linked, very easy to follow and sums up the important parts of the group very well.
Anyways I hope you took away anything useful from this comment and I hope to see more BTS reactions! Good luck!

Few days ago i subscribed to your channel and asked you if you could react to BTS. And here you goooo!!!! You did it and i'm so glad u checked them out. They're not the typical boy group even though Dynamite is such a bop, fun, dynamic, funky song. BTS are everything you can ever imagine. Their discography is so diverse, lyrics are so deep (obviously not the Dynamite ones but other songs). They've covered so many genres. They were meant to be a hip hop group so their earlier stuff is badass hip hop. Rapline - RM, Suga and Jhope have solo projects too. RM and Suga have already released two self-produced mixtapes of their own. Their lyrics are so deep, personal and genuine that you can't help but love them. RM is the main lyricist of BTS too, the other two rappers also write, compose and produce music. Their names are credited on so many bts songs. BTS are said to be the Beatles of 21st century and this is not even an overstatement. They deserve this title better than anyone being the first group since the Beatles to have 3 number one albums in less than a year. They continue to break world records and their fandom is so huge, diverse and extremely dedicated. If you dive deeper into their discography i think you would agree with me that the comparison with Beatles is way more proper than that to boy bands like Backstreet boys or Nsync. BTS is global music as well as social phenomenon, they literally change lives. This is written by 37 years old Army, mom of a 10 year old girl, and yeah, they're family friendly. This is what i want for my girl to listen cuz their music is so good, their message is so positive, their story is so inspirational, they're the best example for today's youth with their lyrics and message bringing social awareness. And yes, you're right, there's media censorship in Korea but i think it's for the best in kpop culture. I'd rather listen to meaningful lyrics as well as my daughter than some crap full of indecent language, or watching too much nudity which i don't want nor do i want for my girl to watch. Call me retrograde, conservative, whatever but i think this is important for the young people, how they grow up, whay they believe, what are their values. Since you prefer more setious music, i would recommend you to watch Black Swan by BTS, the official MV and the Art Film version. I'd be so happy if you give them a chance and dig more deep into their discography, i promise you won't be disappointed. Except for Black swan, you can also check Singularity (solo song by V, the one u compared to Edward Collins), 13430 Pluto, lyric video or live performance with subs, Cyphers, part 1 to 4 by the Rapline, socially aware song called Baepsae (Lyric video or live with subs), Spine breaker is another social song of theirs eith deep and very important meaning. You can also check their earlier songs - ballads like Let me know (live with subs). Try The truth untold as well (sad ballad from one of their late albums). How about Tear by the Rapline from the same album. You have to check more of their live performances cuz they're even better live. Ridiculously good. Thank you for the attention and sorry for my long comment and bad English.

It is purely cultural. I suggest you watch other BTS mv and see why the so called ARMY loves them. And mind you this guys are global and yet remain humble and they respect each and everyone. And the leader RM has an IQ of 148 and fluent in English.

The korean Edwar Collins you talking about is Kim Taehyung a.k.a V(stage name) and also known as "THE MOST HANDSOME FACE OF 2017 AND 2020.."
And yes, this song specifically was released by BTS for their fans,ARMY ,and to everyone that is going through hard times due to this pandemic. They are not about views or anything, they simply wanted to share positivity and hope to everyone in a form of this uplifting song. They are LEGEND!!

  • @-amel-9896
    @-amel-9896 Před 3 lety +3

Well BTS can be provocative in the rappers solo mixtapes, with curse words and stuff, but those mixtapes are FREE and have a message behind it even if it's quite aggressive, it's hip-hop anyway.
BTS debuted as a hip-hop group, but they always try out new genres, and this time they tried disco pop with a retro concept and they slayed it. So far im waiting for them to do a hard metal song, it'll be so iconic.
They are hella versatile, even risked getting blacklisted by the government for critisizing it in their songs. Usually i feel like their songs are usually darker than that but they said that they made that song to cheer up people because of the pandemic and bring some positive vibes to that shitty year for once, and they succeeded. I felt insanely happy from listening to it, and many people did too

I hope you both react to more of their music and see how special they truly are. 💜 its all about positivity with them. Even they are emotionally struggling with what is going on in the world. This is bts first ever full English song. Bts made this song because they wanted to bring happiness and joy because of all the things that are happening in the world : racism , hate , Covid etc etc .
On a side note bts is kpop group ( korean pop ) group .
TBH with you , Kpop is kinda a complex term. Especially if your not familiar with the music / business . Kpop isn’t just music but it’s really a multi billion dollar korean entertainment industry . You don’t just got music but you also got modeling , acting , fashion , etc . But for the most part kpop Is known for music .
So yes kpop does stand for korean pop like the genre of korean pop music specifically . But it also stands for korean POPULAR MUSIC . Meaning you don’t just got “pop music “, but you also have hip hop , RnB , pop, edm, trap rock, jazz, blues , ballads , even Latin pop influences etc .
Kpop takes a lot of American music influences / artists / rappers and fuse it all in one . Every kpop group is bit different from one another depending on their style . Some are more rap / hip hop influences like BTS, some are more pop , some are RnB influences , and some are just SUPER VERSATILE WITH MANY STYLES AND GENRES , BTS being one of them .

    czcams.com/video/sBuKOYYanRk/video.html
All music videos, have meanings/theories/explanations if you need to understand further.
    You can refer to:
    Dkdktv or Xceleste
(they tend to make it simpler for you to understand)
All mvs have behind the scenes if you want to know whether they use CGI or real props (mainly real).
All songs have deep or even double meanings. That's the reason why ARMY's 💜LOVE💜 the lyrics of every song.
    BTS have a music storyline
(BU content/fictional story) that might be too much to digest for someone who is new to BTS. Imagine how many of us are learning stuffs like psychology, going through books, making up theories here and there.
They have lots of songs (abt 300).
They have Korean albums and Japanese albums.
There are mixtapes, cyphers, solos, covers, commercials, collaborations,
amazing LIVE performances, OST, storyline, Webtoon,
    own variety shows like
Bon Voyage, Run BTS (more than 100 episodes), Burn the stage, American Hustle life, and many more.
The members also have anime characters of themselves called the "Tiny Tan".
Also another cute bunch of characters that they created called BT21.
P.s.(I'm playing their game (BTS World), daily on my phone!)
    With all the videos ...
Or maybe just songs itself, will last you till end of this year if you play once a day (different songs each day!). In fact, there will be more songs that you haven't react to by end of this year! 💜 They cover lots of different genres, so, hopefully, you find the ones that are according to your style.
    Advise:
ARMYs tend to get excited once they find your channel and start requesting to react to the epic, LIVE performance or Award shows.
Do note, try not to watch the LIVE performance (such as MAMA OR MMA) too soon.
In my opinion, Live performances are best watched once you have seen the mv itself or at least know the songs before you see LIVE version . That way, your journey will be a lot more fulfilling/worthwhile.
Again, that was just my opinion.
Anyway, I understand if you react to other stuffs too. So, yes, take your time in knowing BTS. Do at your own pace. It is your channel.
The info that we give is to show you HOW & WHY,
    we(ARMY) 💜love💜 BTS
    Good luck!
    From Singapore
    💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Fyi: the hair will always change. (You'll find out once you dive into BTS

Their music is provocative, but more like fight the system, more political. They had a bunch of censored songs, some because of that, some because of other sillier reasons like curse words etc. But in a sense of sexual stuff, yes they're extremely family friendly.

7 members in a group is on the lower spectrum of Kpop groups and rather normal. Approx. 9 to 12 members isn't the top of the member spectrum, but that's about the usual limit.
Of course there's censorship in South Korea. It might be a high tech country but also a conservative country. Every song and every music video has to pass censorship. Bans are not unusual: videos not being allowed to be shown or songs not being allowed to be played on the radio. Nonetheless, every artist is trying to push the boundaries, even BTS, just not with this song/MV.

Listening to your reaction video now. I know he does not follow BTS. And this is a feel good for sure. Love it. They have never released a full English track so totally an American inspired pop video. Top to bottom. MJ, “off the wall” reference, moonwalk, dance moves, an 80s bedroom - check out posters, they are wearing jeans and bells and bottoms, not their normal look but totally right fits this with 70s disco thrown in. They brought this due to tour cancelled and just the world is right now. Trying to bring light. You wanna see a different BTS? Watch others. 2 came from underground Korean rap world with flow. *Steve Aoki remix of Mic Drop. If you haven’t watched it - this is one BTS video shows to see the rap / range and them taking one to the haters with confidence. And Steve Aoki remix - it’s a movie In 5 min. I’d go there before thinking this is it. Not army but appreciate that talent. Mic Drop is crazy. WITH CAPTIONS

BTS while operating in the kpop environment is not part of the kpop industry, & not kpop anymore. They left the kpop room ages ago and is now, very much their own thing. Also since this song isnt in Korean, it isnt kpop. A lot of people gravitate towards BTS not because they are a boyband. There are hundreds of boybands from Korea. Only BTS made it huge. Watch a "Crash Course on BTS, Worldwide Sensation" & 'Nobodies To Legends 2019" for a glimpse of their backstory & why they become crazily popular & successful & has amassed the biggest fandom on the planet.

This is the least BTS song there is but it was all all English and meant to be set in Disco. Totally not normal but needed today. Go watch Joke by RM Agust D by Agust D or all the cyphers. The rappers are there for you 😂 This is 80s on purpose and tie in to Space Jam 2. You were right, pandemic inspired for sure. They have been #1 in I think over 90 countries. They wanted to debut at #1 in America and sadly it would take an English song. They aren’t bringing the fashion back at all it’s just this video. They cross Genres and its awesome. I play this each morning.

Most KPOP idol groups don’t do sexually provocative songs cuz of target audience and they try to keep it family friendly and stuff like that. Girls do sexy concepts but it’s all just dance and visuals but lyrics wise they aren’t explicit.
If you’re wondering Korean music industry do have provocative songs but most of them are Korean HipHop artistes like Jessi and Jay Park. They’re probably more open too since they’re Americans 🤣🤣🤣 However, there are exceptions to provocative Kpop idols mostly solo females like Hyunah and Hyolyn.
Talking about this why don’t you react to the new release “NUNU NANA” by Jessi cuz that shit’s LIT YALLLLLL!!!! 🔥✨👑 JESSI IS THE FEMALE RAP QUEEN IN THE K-MUSIC INDUSTRY RN 😆
