- Looking for a bounce-back performance, the Avs jumped out to a 3-0 lead, before collapsing in the third period and eventually losing 4-3.
The team still got a point, and there were a lot of positives to take out of the way they played in the first 40 minutes, and Jared Bednar gives his thoughts on the night.

I watched highlights from the NHL channel. When I saw we were up 3-0 going into the 3rd my first thing was Georgiev was going to lose this game. Sure enough he did.
The weakest goal in the game given up with the first one the Avs scored...
Another concerning issue is that Winnipeg has had their way with Colorado at every matchup this season.
This coach reminds me of Ferris buellers dad in the movie, completely aloof lol respectfully

@@kenflowers9271If you look at Capfriendly Landy cap is being used. He has been on LTIR which his contract has been used to sign players. MacKinnon and Makar isn't the entire team. What do you expect Bednar to do, he works with the players they have. Do your research, try to spell the players name correctly also. It's MacKinnon
There were some dumb penalties but Georgiev is the biggest problem. He can’t make any saves when the team needs it and has zero confidence. The guys clearly don’t trust their goalie either, which leads to mental mistakes and playing passively.
At the end of the day, this team has 100 points and yet their goalie has worse stats than Connor Ingram and Petr Mrazek. I don’t care how many breakdowns, mistakes, or dumb penalties the Avs do…they aren’t having more than the Blackhawks or Coyotes and yet their goalies have better stats.
I mean hell, just compare Georgiev’s numbers to Justus and Prosvetov, who play with the exact same team in front of them.
Every team makes mistakes, but they seem more glaring and worse on the Avs because every time they make a mistake, the puck goes in the net.
There’s no argument to be made other than Georgiev is clearly the biggest problem.
Fourgiev's save percentage is below .900 and that's nowhere near good enough. Laughable really.
It’s truly pathetic how bad he has been. Any other starting goalie in league would have at least a .915 on this team. If Mrazek can still have a .906 in Chicago, it is beyond ridiculous that Georgiev doesn’t even have a .900
He seems way to ok with how this team has played as of late.
Allowing 11 Goasl in 2 games before the playoffs, NOT GOOD! Also, Winnipeg has 24 goals to our 4 this Season. JETS Will ROLL US! Great Season but I don't see the Avalanche moving past the First Round.

You can't win the cup with Georgie. The Avs players have no faith with him in net. I think MacKinnon, Makar, Drouin, and rest realize that. In the last 5 games, Georgie has given up 18 goals. That isn't a goalie that will do anything for the Avs. If Bednar could realize that instead of being stupid,'I like the way he played', I don't think the Avs can do nothing with the goalies they have. What goalie is available to bring in. The penalties are stupid and hurt the team. Manson, Walker and even MacKinnon has been taking some of the stupidest penalties that hurt the momentum of play. I will say this - 1st round exit coming.
Yup they played not to lose. leave it to Manson to do penalty at end of regulation. they are a joke right now.

Varly stole many games for a team that wasn’t very good. He just got hurt a lot at the end. You are right that Georgiev has never stolen a game though…at least not this year. And what is sad is that he plays on a really good team and still can’t even be average, let alone bail the guys out one time (when they’ve bailed him out all year).
@@RK-fh4bp you have a fonder memory of Varly than I do. That guy didn’t have the mental make up to win a big game at the time. Much like Georgie. I cut my teeth in the stands watching Roy literally will his teams to wins on some nights. That is and always will be my standard.
