Extending the Standard Model (SM) with right-handed neutrinos (RHN) provides a minimal explanation for both the origin of the SM neutrino masses through the type-I seesaw and of the present imbalance between matter and antimatter in our universe through leptogenesis. An attractive possibility would be for the RHN masses to lie below the TeV scale such that these new particles can already be searched for at present-day experiments. In this talk, I will review how one can constrain the properties of RHNs based on the requirements of reproducing the neutrino masses and mixings, as well as the baryon asymmetry. In particular, I will discuss how the testability of the model changes compared to the minimal case with 2 RHNs when one considers a scenario with 3 RHN generations instead. Moreover, I will examine the effects of flavour and CP symmetries on the model's parameter space.
