    What's happened with Lotus manufacturing is really disappointing. Hopefully they can find a sustainable and stable path forward.

      @@charliecampbell6851 a complete upheaval in manufacturing and sourcing. They had a good thing and tried to reinvent the wheel a second time.

      @@charliecampbell6851 I don't know about the quality but their website talks about various global sourcing changes and a different valve block.

    Hi Adam, I have a question for you that you have probably been asked so many times, that when you read it you'll think "oh, not that tired 'ol shit again", but here goes : How long had you been playing Tpt. before you twigged the proper way to play efficiently in the "high" (above C or D) register?

      Adam has some good advice for you. I'm forwarding this from him:
      First, there’s no “proper” way to play; it’s just a question of finding a technique that allows you to accomplish your musical goals as efficiently as possible.
      I had a reckoning at age 21-22 while in “Blast!”, when I realized that my technique wasn’t sustainable for the challenges of that gig, and I needed to find a more efficient way to use my body for playing under such extreme circumstances.
      Even though my muscle memory was deeeeply engrained at that point, and my playing was on a really high level, I fully embraced the concept of “beginner’s mind” and found creative ways to circumvent that muscle memory completely and open the possibility of playing in a completely different way.
      It took maybe a year or so before I had fully developed my current technique for use under even the most intense playing, but lots of things felt significantly easier and required less energy and strain within just a couple of months into the process.
      And I’m SO glad I had the guts and the patience to make that change!
      If you find your current technique doesn’t allow you to accomplish your musical goals, then it’s important to focus on evaluating the quality of every note you play, and all the details of how you produced it, with the goal of reducing strain wherever and whenever possible.
      Sometimes that means just taking your foot off the gas a little, and in other cases it means needing to recalibrate how you use various parts of your body; often times both. That’s much more likely to happen if you’re thinking like a computer programmer who’s programming a trumpet-playing robot, rather than simply an artist working with whatever limited tools you’ve got on hand. Those tools may not get the job done. Thankfully, we can always develop new tools!
